The film is a decent flick, though the recycled story has more holes than a dinosaur chew toy. It's a parade of illogical choices, one after another, leading to a predictable ending that tries to set up another sequel. Uugh. Why can't Hollywood focus on making a good movie FIRST, and then develop sequels later? The film sees our heroes pushing to save the animals, only to be double-crossed by the big evil company guys (sound familiar? yeah, same basic story as The Lost World). Instead of making the logical choice to bring the dinos to one of the other islands (remember, there are multiple islands for the Jurassic Parks), they instead haul them to California for their illegal operation.... An operation that in and of itself defies logic. The second half of the movie is the usual assortment of jump scares and scooby-doo-esque chase. The CG looks great and the action is entertaining enough, just don't expect any level of intellectual stimulation or character depth like the original (Jurassic Park, not Jurassic World). The characters themselves feel wooden, forgettable token set pieces - nerdy computer guy, feisty female vet, smug evil corporate dude, maximum testosterone hunter guy, ect. - and even the two main stars, Chris and Bryce, feel like they're playing this by-the-numbers without any real emotional investment. The ending, as I said, feels illogical and forced just to keep the sequel cash train moving. Probably would not recommend the film unless it's for kids who don't care about plot or character structure and just want to see cool dinosaurs. The story is subpar, the characters are meh, only the CG really a highlight. Do yourself a favor and go with the original instead. It's so much better than this.

I must admit I enjoyed the the JP series and found the first JW one of the best of the series. Typically, I rent a movie to see if I like it, before spending the money, especially on the 4K disc. This time, my impression of the first JW had me racing to Best Buy for the sequel un-previewed. (In fact, I almost purchased the 3D version too!) Thank heavens I didn't. Well, what a disappointment. The visual detail was great and I enjoyed the special effects, but the story line was so insanely ridiculous, it made resurrecting dinosaurs seem practical. Without giving much away, the premise is that a volcano is decimating Isla Nublar, the reptiles version of a dilapidated Turks and Caicos, and our heroes, Chris Pratt and Bryce Callas Howard, decide to save the dinosaurs in the world's wackiest interpretation of the Endangered Species Act. Do-good instincts aside, there is no earthly reason to save a species that Mother Nature already decided to terminate, man unnaturally resuscitated, and that has caused little but carnage and misery. But to then transport the dinosaurs to another island so their havoc can regenerate seemed calculated with the sole objective of keeping the series going. In short, for me, the story line came across as completely manipulative and devoid of even a token of plausibility. But, if you don't care about the story, the sounds and visual impact were above average and alone could provide an entertaining evening's feast.

Too much retread; performances felt phoned in...

I thoroughly enjoyed the first reboot of this franchise, Jurassic World, as it breathed new life into the franchise and updated it for today's viewer. Chris Pratt's performance in the first movie also was a welcome addition to the ensemble cast that have been making these movies. However, for this sequel, i dunno; it just felt like a sequel made for the sake of making another one. The performances felt phoned it, and while the story itself is unique/original and a great premise for a sequel, there was just too much retreaded territory - how many times is the T-Rex going to come in just in time to save the day? That rehashed plot line has become rote and overplayed; how about some emotional jeopardy with the T-Rex actually being out-predatored the next time..? Also, can we get some growth/depth to the characters? Can BDH's character show some emotional growth, and Pratt's as well? Anyway, it's worth an initial viewing, but don't expect anything new or the same wow factor as the first (rebooted version, not from the 90s movies) one.

However conflicted you were left with Jurassic World, this movie makes that previous one seem like a fun and perfectly acceptable sequel in the franchise. Fallen Kingdom has a nonsensical plot, awful villains, a bland and lifeless script (complete with a hilarious and awkward removal of a swear through editing to avoid a R rating) and literally digs up the monster from the last movie to flip it and use it again because the writing room had literally no ideas or enthusiasm left for this movie. Even the score is boring and terrible. The absurd tease at the end almost makes it worth the slog to see how ludicrous the future of this franchise is shaping up to be, but it’s hard to justify watching this if you’re a fan of the original or anything resembling competent blockbusters in general.

I try to keep a positive attitude towards everything. Life has a way of beating us all down. When it comes to movies, I just try to enjoy what is presented to me at face value and not read too much into it. Now that being said, this movie is trash. The graphics and presentation and super, it’s the story. Bringing dinosaurs back to the mainland, and having the clone of a little girl set them free into society? I don’t want to get into spoilers, but my recommendation is wait for Netflix, then skip it.

Meh, meh, meh, meh, meh! This is still not as bad as JP: The Lost World, but it comes close. The action was forced, and the acting stale. I'm rooting for the dinosaurs to take over this universe and eat everyone so they can stop making bad films. Next will be a Jurassic Park: New World. Plot: set in a dystopian future, teens realize they have genetically manipulated powers and set to revolt against their dinosaur slavers!

IF YOU WANTED TO SEE DINOS IN A CITY VS AT JURASSIC PARK LIKE IN THE TRAILERS: Minor Spoiler Alert: Then you'll be greatly disappointed. This only happens at very end of movie for literally like 1-2 minutes at most ! Otherwise was a so-so entry in the series with some feels but also many scenes & plot devices that we're insulting to the audience.

This is the only Blu-Ray I've ever come across that isn't compatible with a PS4. It's a total joke. I exchanged it because I thought it was defective. When it happened again, I looked it up and saw some reviews from some other PS4 owners that the disc wouldn't play on their PS4. There should be some sort of disclosure on the box to prevent negative feedback from customers.

I hope this is the last on the series. Enough with computerized dinosaurs and strange prehistoric animals and bad acting of the female lead. She really sucks. Thanks to Chris Pratt that saved the movie. This movie is waste celluloid and money. And let's not talk about the supporting cast. Politically correct actors not acting at all. I had quite a few laughs watching this movie.

My Mom said after watching this movie it’s got to be one of the worst Jurassic Park movies ever made and I will have to agree. I have the one before this in my collection but will be placing this one on sale ASAP - it maybe worth $4 brand new but that’s about it. If I had the chance to do it over I would not have purchased this movie.

This movie wasn't as fun as the last one or even the very first movie. It falls in line mostly to The Lost World. Like the last movie, there is a new dino created. Like the last movie, things go amok. Unlike the last movie, it's boring. Check it out only if you enjoy the franchise in general and are a completionist.

The first movie was really interesting, but how many times can you re-make basically the same plot? It had some interesting parts. I was also expecting much better quality of the picture on my 4k 75 inch TV and DVD player, but again, I was disappointed with the quality. Sound was pretty good from my Sonos system however.

Shouldve been called Jurassic House. This movie was just not all that great. The island was as much of a character as the dinosaurs and we spent maybe 15 minutes there. Turning this into an animal rights movie was not a good move. Hopefully the final movie will round it out and at least make this one a means to an end.

Purchased the 4K/blu ray steelbook. The movie was a little disappointing. Actors seemed to walk through their parts and the dinosaurs were not very scary. Biggest reason for the two stars was the blu ray would not play in my Oppo 203. Blank screen after the universal logo. Was able to play the 4K version though on my non 4k plasma.

From the first Jurassic World, they should have learned their lesson to not mutate dinosaurs of a dangerous kind together. However, they did NOT learn their lesson. They created another extremely dangerous kind of dinosaur using DNA from the dinosaur that finished the previous hybrid. The volcano and the island part was amazing.

I was really excited to see this movie as I am a big fan of the Jurrasic Park series. This one was just, meh. The story line was the same old same old. Nothing new to learn here regarding the characters which left an overall bland feeling to the acting. Very predictable and just simply not that entertaining in any way.

Steelbook is of good quality. Wish the design was better instead of just photoshop dinos (wanted the 5 movie boxset art by Mondo). The movie is terrible. Super letdown. I'm a huge fan and this movie wasn't good as a jurassic Park film. As a jurrasic world movie, it was great. It's just not the same product anymore.

This movie could have been good. But instead, it was very quickly just thrown together simply just because..... Nothing more. Nothing less. Weak plot. Small cameos from Jeff Goldbloom....”we now live in a Jurassic world”....please! There’s one of each species (total of maybe 20 Dino’s running wild!)

More of the same as the previous Jurassic films. Thought the movie was just ok, your not missing anything if you don't see this film, However if you have kids who love dinosaurs then I would pick this up if it's on sale. I enjoyed the extra content on the blu ray more than the movie itself.

I had high hopes for this film as the previous ones have never disappointed. The story was weak and it seemed to go on with not a whole lot of direction. I bought it for the 3D aspect and that was lackluster as well.
