Great value for these figures, as many of them cost more when you buy them standalone online. As long as you’re fine with getting one of them randomly.

I liked the dino I got. it was the pyroraptor, great quality and a nice head motion. though I know it vary's I wished I got 1 of the dino's that's actually shown in the image shown. except for the herrerasaurus since I already had it.

Before I get to the details of the figure itself, it should be noted that the only way to get your choice of figure is by visiting a store, as online orders will just get you a random one, which could easily result in disappointment for you or your kids. As for the figure itself, it's about what you would expect from a standard action figure primarily meant for children. I can only speak for the Edaphosaurus figure (the one with the sail that resembles a Dimetrodon, though these guys were herbivores instead), which can perform a sort of head-thrashing action if you twist the tail, and has a little hidden clip you can slide out, which is meant to be scanned with a mobile app so it can be "caught" within a game and added to a collection in it. It's nothing fancy, but I like the vibrant color scheme of yellow-on-black, and the figure fits in with others I've collected in the past. No complaints here and I'm sure any Jurassic fanatic or dinosaur enthusiast in general will like it (though technically this species is not a dinosaur and is actually more related to us).

Recently picked up the Edaphosaurus figure and I must say its an excellent figure. Brings me beck to when I had the Kenner Dimetrodon figure as a kid. Sculpting & painting on this figure is great with its mixture of different shades of blue and the yellow markings on its sail.

I purchased a bunch of these trying to get the Dimetrodon for my kid. It took ordering 5 or 6 to get one. The end product itself was great once we got one, but Best Buy could do better and give you the ability to select specific dinosaur figures vs. making it random. It's a waste of time, money, and effort to have to order so many of these and then turn around and return them all until you get the one you want.

Some of Mattel's best offerings. Some may be retools, but the new molds are very nice. The Herrerasaurus is underrated, and a step up from the other Mattel Herrerasaurus figures.
