Interesting twist to one the Bluegrass's scandals

The entire season is in search of a federal fugitive who until a discovery by Raylan was thought to be dead. The storyline is an interesting twist on the Bluegrass conspiracy that took place in Kentucky during the 70s and 80s. It was uncovered when Drew Thornton was found dead on someone's driveway with quite a bit of cocaine strapped to him. His parachute failed when he jumped out of his plane with the cocaine he was smuggling. In the series Justified they changed his name to Drew Thompson and made up the story he faked his own death and proceeded to look for him. There wasn't much in the series about the specifics of the Bluegrass Conspiracy but it was enjoyable to see how they changed enough of it to make it look like it could have happened the way it was portrayed in the show. My only problem with the series is it doesn't really look like Kentucky or Lexington at all the places that they are shooting in California.

    Continued excellence from Harlan County

Talking about the physical aspects of this first, the case is somewhat heavy duty and I feel safe that it will not be damaged without some effort. The material of the slipcase allowed for a smooth and easy removal of the stickers that were on the front cover. In regards to the plot and the actors, there are continuing to be as great and as I want them to be. While Timothy Olyphant epitomizes the old school lawman with Raylan Givens, I feel that in this and the last season, the real breakout character is Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins). He has a complexity that makes him so dynamic. My last note is a small one but one that I feel strongly about. I am so happy that they ended the season playing the song "You'll never leave Leave Harlan Alive". They did not do that at the end of the third season, and I really feel like they should have. However I am glad that they rectified it.

Beautifully filmed and superbly acted, this series is one that gets better as the story continues from season to season. Many characters in the series come and go--and there many casualties through the violent themes associated with the main characters-- namely the U.S. Marshall Service. Timothy Olyphant is excellent in the lead role--sort of an updated Harry Callaghan--but it is the seamy criminals assembled who confront him in each episode that drive the series. There is clever and quick dialogue and bits of humor throughout. Season 4 of "Justified" is highly recommended.

Rating a DVD is really not about the disc other than sound and picture, both of which are excellent. The real meat is the content which in this case is the 4th season(13 episodes) of the Emmy Award winning series "Justified" Starring Timothy Olyphant as unconventional U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens and a host of characters developed from crime novelist Elmore Leonard. The disc includes 6 special features including commentary, out takes, deleted scenes and other shorts adding insight into the series. There is a lot of entertainment here.

I have Justified seasons 1-3 so I figured the story would evolve from that. I like this season much like the others because it takes random events from the lives of the characters to build this season into what it is. The main character is again himself, witty and then serious at times, which makes for a pretty good hero. The peripheral characters all play their roles prominently and you somewhat know what to expect from them. Being set in Kentucky, I like how they actually use Southern drawl instead of using speech you'd hear in say, California during their acting. I'd recommend the show.

    Completing the series

My son-in-law introduced me to Justified and I have been a fan ever since. I have completed the first three seasons, so it was only natural that I would get the fourth season. The shows in the fourth season did not disappoint. If you think you would like a main character who is a no nonsense cop who warns people about what is going to happen if they don't cooperate and then follows through, you will like this series. But start with the first season, because otherwise, you will be lost with some of the character development.

My husband decided to buy the first season because it was on sale and we wanted to try something different from what we normally watch. When I saw what he picked, I wasn't too sure about it because I don't normally get into this kind of show. We blazed through the 1st season so fast...I couldn't get enough of it! We followed up with the 2nd and 3rd seasons when we found them on sale. We loved those, too! I was so excited to see this 4th season on sale...and in Blu-ray!! We watched the whole season in no time at all. We are definitely still hooked! :)

After U.S Marshal Raylan Givens finds himself in hot water over the shooting of a Miami crime boss, he is reassigned to the last place on Earth he'd rather be; Harlan County, Kentucky, where he was born and raised. There he must deal with his ex-wife, criminal father, an old friend turned white supremacist, and the latter's former sister-in-law who quickly rekindles her attraction to Givens. Kentucky won't be the same now that the cowboy marshal is home.

As the seasons of "JUSTIFIED" progress, so does Raylan Givens' character. Timothy Olyphant delivers his trademark "HITMAN" style of action, and well thought out (explained) reasons for his use of deadly force against the bad guys at every instance. We own all previous seasons, and we are so thrilled with every single one! Looking forward to the next!!

I have loved this show from the start. The casting and dialogue is always excellent as well at the setting. The story sometimes leave a little to be desired but overall this show is amazing from start to finish. *spoiler alert* I was almost disappointed that the final showdown never happened but was surprised by the twist the writers threw in. If you liked the first season, see this show through to the end.

The fourth season of Justified is just more fun from the get go, laying out in the first episode a mystery to serve as new type of season arc for the show rather than your typical baddie of seasons past. With all of the characters being fully developed, the dialogue is as snappy and witty as ever with its fair share of twists, surprises, and humor. Rayland Givens is the baddest man on television.

Based on characters created by the novelist Elmore Leonard, JUSTIFIED is one of my favorite TV series. Season 4 is about the search for Drew Thompson, who parachuted form a plane with a bag of money thirty years earlier. The performances by Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins are excellent, and Mike O'Malley shows his acting range as a ruthless mobster. I highly recommend JUSTIFIED.

It's sad to see that this great series will end after season 6. Season 4 hit a high when it revealed the fugitive they had all been looking for had been right under their noses the whole time. Great acting from the leads Olyphant and Goggins as usual. I liked the additions of Ron Eldard as the drug addled veteran and Patton Oswalt as a wannabe law enforcer.

This is a great series. We started watching and realized that it was already in the fourth season. So we stopped and went back to watch from the beginning. I like the characters and the acting and the plot. I like the good guys and the bad guys. There are so many great lines from the writers that are so well delivered by these great actors.

Justified is a great series that is grossly overlooked by both TV watchers and award critics. The characters are written superbly, especially Raylan played by Timothy Olyphant, and it has great story lines. It warrants repeat viewing and although each season can stand alone, you should purchase all seasons for maximum viewing pleasure.

Justified is one of the best shows on TV in my opinion. It is just a very well executed story. The characters are fascinating, the plot is fresh and moves at a quick pace, and there is an incredible mix of dry/dark/witty humor mixed throughout each episode.

This is easily my second favorite of the four seasons , so far. The addition of several new characters, including Patton Oswalt's Constable Bob brought a lot to the already great cast of characters. The Detroit Mob mixing with the Harlan criminal element allowed for great dialogue and interplay between the characters.

We waited quite a while between seeing season 3 and then 4, but we got right back into it. As I mentioned in my review we watched the whole season 4 over 3 nights. A wonderful little indulgence to be able to see them one right after the other. We love Raylen's boss. He gets such great lines.

This is one of the best shows on T.V. The show hasn't dropped off since season 1 It has alot of new plots and still stays with old plots. Start from season 1 if you haven't seen it, You don't want to start without watching season 1 you need to know all the characters from the start.

The story keeps getting better as the plot thickens. Waylen's relationship with his father finally comes to a head, old acquaintances from the past come to the front, in this witty, shoot 'em up drama. If you like this show, this season surely won't disappoint you!
