IN FEEL LIKE I STEPPED INTO A NEW DECADE WHEN I ADDED THE JVC TO MY 2007 TACOMA.

This head unit is great. Android auto and CarPlay support. Does everything.

I just returned this radio after having it for a couple of weeks. I was able to get this on a really good deal with a price match so I was very excited to try out Android auto. I have a 17 WRX with stock radio and it was awful. The 740bt was defiantly an improvement in terms of audio but not the best by any means. I have JBL components with 2 kicker 12s but even with the equalizer and audio effects I couldn't define a full crisp sound like I had with my previous pioneer head units. My biggest issue with this head unit was the Android auto interface. The U.I. was at times completely broken. On multiple occasions I had to restart my car just to get it to recognize my galaxy. Could never play music from my tidal app, and couldn't skip songs while Waze was active. The weblink Waze app wouldn't work with my Android or iPhone 6. The Android auto Waze app would often have difficulties displaying results. Also the microphone wouldn't work with Waze app open. Another big complaint is that 70% of the time when a new song started it would play 2 seconds of the song and then restart the song over, very annoying. Lack of physical buttons was a burden. Couldn't get it to read out loud new texts. Often I couldn't even view the texts. I honestly wouldn't recommend this radio to anyone which is disappointing at it's great price point but trust me the radio is more of a Hassel than a hands free aid.

I've only had this stereo for less than a month and started receiving an error message it doesn't recognize my phone. The same phone that worked perfectly before. I bought a new USB cord, but that didn't help. I reinstalled Android Auto on my phone, but that didn't help. I restarted the stereo, but that didn't help. I restarted the phone, but that didn't help. Very disappointed. Also, the interface is so ugly. The text is too big and radio stations cut off the titles. The rest of it looks like it was designed in the 90s and never updated. The screen is blurry. No mute button, for visits to the drive-thru. The volume keys are tiny and I started relying on the keys behind my steering wheel. Also, the backup camera doesn't work with my Jeep and there's no cord to install it, so I lost that feature updating to a new stereo.

Had all the options I needed plus more. Still getting used to all the features but so far it’s been an all around great pick. Doesn’t sound as good as the factory stereo with the factory DVD player but at least I can get sound to come out.
