Hello friends and welcome to my review of the new JVC HA-S75N over the ear noise cancelling headphones.First off I would like to say that these headphones are really light for there size. Also they have a nice clean look to them. The size of the JVC's are about as small as one could go and still be an over the ear design. This lends well to overall comfort of these headphones. I was able to wear them for a long time ( several hours) and have no discomfort at all. Next i would like to talk about the sound of the JVC's. In my opinoin, I think they are a little tiny bit bass heavy. But that is just fine with me, I like good bass. For some folks that might be bad , if you prefer a more neutral sound field. With that said these are way better than something like beats that's super bass heavy. Honestly I think most folks would like the sound of these headphones. In this price bracket I think that these new JVC's are a big giant bullseye! I like the mids and the highs of the JVC's as well. They are no too hot in the upper range, and the mids balance well with the bass. As long as one takes into account the price range of the cans, i'm not sure you could find a better deal. Now for the minor things I did not like about the JVC's. First the buttons are a little to spread out. There are buttons on both sides of the headphones. When JVC could have got away with putting them all one one side. Also strangely enough, the power button is in a wierd location that I'm not accustomed to. Other than that, I think the noise cancelling effect of these headphones is "sufficient". It is neither good or bad, It work's, Just not a wow I hear nothing else type of NC. Otherwise I think these cans are a fantastic addition to my collection! Would i recommend them to a friend? You bet!

I have used headphones from nearly every manufacturer over the years and JVC tends to have some of the most affordable, yet surprisingly good quality models. I've spent 3 to 4 times more for headphones that perform about as well as these and I think JVC provides great value. Pros: - For this price point, it is not common to get a noise canceling feature, but you do get noise canceling with this model. - Battery life is excellent, providing up to 50 hours. But keep in mind that battery life will be shorter if you are using the noise canceling feature. - These headphones are quite comfortable and can be worn for hours without issue. They are also comfortable if you are on the move like going for walks, performing basic exercises, etc. They are extremely lightweight, which contributes to their added comfort. - If you want to be able to hear noise around you, such as traffic, you can enable ambient sound. - Audio quality was good for both music and podcasts. Cons: - None For the price that these are available at, they are a terrific value and I highly recommend them. Sure, you can get a little better audio quality by spending a couple hundred dollars more. But these are a great option for folks on a budget.

To say I love music, would be an understatement and as such, I am always looking for a quality pair of headphones, earbuds, etc. I’ve had good experience with their products in the past and wanted to try these out for size. The first thing I noticed about them is how light they are. I have several other brands that are noticeably more heavy and after wearing them for hours on end, I really feel the difference. These aren’t designed to compete with higher end headphones, so there are some tradeoffs when using these. They do have noise cancelling features and have great battery life. They charge with a USB-C cable, which is preferred since that is becoming the universal cable for most, if not all of the never devices. With noise cancelling off, you get an advertised 50 hours of use and 35 with noise cancelling enabled. Both are very good numbers based on my usage. I typically put them on a charge when I’m done listening to them so that they are charged the next time I need them, so as long as I can get about 12 hours of use, Im happy. I listened to several different types of music before I made any adjustments using the app. I typically listen to Jazz, Rap, Pop and just started getting into some classical music. What I noticed immediately was the sound is kind of muffled for lack of a better word. It was as if something was holding the headphones back from putting out its best audio. I was a little disappointed initially. I decided to play with the settings using the app and the sound improved. Not tremendously, but it was definitely less muffled and I could adjust the sound to fit my liking. If you don’t use the app to adjust your metrics, you will probably be disappointed, so I would recommend downloading it. I would have preferred that the headphones paused the music when I took them off, but being that they are entry level headphones, that feature is most likely reserved for higher end models. I also would liked to have seen a headphone jack so that I can use them without Bluetooth. These do support multipoint connectivity which I was happy to see as I find myself using that feature a lot when I am watching something on my tablet and a phone call comes in on my phone. Overall, I like these for what they are. They don’t try to overwhelm you with bass or too tinny with the highs. They are extremely lightweight, which is my favorite aspect of these and the sound improves significantly when using the app.

The JVC Over-the-Ear ANC Headphones, model HAS75NB, are good, basic headphones. Setup is easy - just charge for about 3 hours with the included, extremely short, USB-A to USB-C charging cable and then sync to Bluetooth. The included leaflet provides basic instructions for the use of the buttons. JVC does have a headphone app but it apparently doesn't work with these headphones. So there is no equalizer to use or any way custom adjustments can be made. There are, however, 3 sound modes - flat, bass and clear. The only mode that I find to improve the sound is the bass setting, and that is the only mode I use. These are lightweight headphones that feel very comfortable to me, even with extended wear. They go over your ears, not on them, which adds to the comfort level. The active noise cancelling (ANC) blocks unwanted outside noise when you don't want to hear everything going on around you. This really works - typing this review, with the ANC on, I couldn't hear my typing on the keyboard! You can turn this feature off, which I do when I wear these on my walks. I want to be able to hear the sounds around me when I am outside. That is a personal preference. But I do find the overall sound to be better with the ANC on. JVC claims a full battery charge will last up to 35 hours and even longer, up to 50 hours, if you don't use the ANC. I've been using mine a lot and the charge is only down to 59% (per my PC). These JVC Over-the-Ear ANC Headphones, model HAS75NB do not provide those deep bass notes and that high treble that I love to hear, but the sound is plenty good for me when I go for my walks and for listening to audiobooks. These are not great headphones, but they certainly are good enough for casual use. I would recommend these for anyone looking for good, basic headphones.

The JVC HA-S75N over the ear headphones with noise cancelling technology are a very no frills well built pair of headphones that don't have much you can complain about at their price point. The headphones are packaged in a simple cardboard box with the USB c charging cable and some literature. The instruction manual does indicate that the charger used should be capable of delivering 3.5 watts to 10 watts of power. The headphones are well built light comfortable to wear even for extended periods of time. Setup was as simple as turning on the headphones and connecting them to your device via the bluetooth settings. The headphones allow you to switch between the ambient noise setting the and noise cancellation mode. Ambient mode is great for situations where you have to be more aware of your surroundings. Sound quality is good for the price you are paying. The battery life is rated at 50 hrs without noice cancellation and 35 hours with noise cancellation turned on. Based on my usage I can safely say that these estimates are very accurate. The headphones also feature a swivel design so they can be placed into a back with ease. It would have been nice to include a little bag to put them in for when you travel however you can easily find an inexpensive case online for them. Overall I can't complain for all that you are receiving for the price point and would recommend these bluetooth over the ear headphones to anyone in the market.

A starter ANC set that delivers value at a cost

The JVC HA-S75N headphones are a set of active noise canceling cans that offer a lightweight, and affordable entry set of headphones. Does the HA-S75N deliver on its feature-set without compromising due to its budget price? Let’s find out! First of all, packing is basic, but very recyclable, so there’s a plus. Inside you’ll find a fairly fancy folded cardboard box supporting the product. Once you de-origami it you’ll find basic instructions, the headphones and a simple USB-C to USB-A charging cable. The charging leaflet tells you to fully charge the headphones and use at minimum a 3.5w (700ma) or up to 10w (2a) USB charger. Charging initially took a couple hours, but at least the instructions were clear. I’ll give it to JVC, the included documentation was clear, and straightforward. There’s a table that describes each button and shortcut you can get out of the 5 buttons found on the headphones. Yes, 3 buttons and a volume rocker! The design of the headphones themselves is one of decent but cheap feeling matte plastic. Honestly, despite the cheap feeling materials it comes off as quite convenient. The materials seem durable. The real point here is how light they are, and the lack of any fake weights inside mean that you get less weight on your head, which is more comfortable over time. I found the claim of 182g to be accurate with my food scale. The weight is claimed due to honeycomb construction, which means that the structure is thinner, but more intricate using less material overall. The band is adjustable to a fairly large size, and the clamping force is quite comfortable. I wore these on long walks I took several times, and never felt like they were uncomfortable. The soft earpads are comfortable, but definitely show sweat after use. The plastic is a bit creaky, but seems durable. Time will tell, but all plastic construction does worry me as I’ve had expensive headsets crack and die after a couple years. On the headphones you have the power button on the left can, along with the USB-C charging port. On the right you have the multi function button (MFB), a dedicated NC button, and a volume rocker. The MFB button has the majority of tricks up it sleeve - with voice assistance being 4 quick presses, sound mode a long press, and your standard single press:play, double press:next, and triple press:previous. I have no complaints about battery life. After at least 7 hours of use since full charge I’m sitting at 75% battery. That’s using both ANC and ambient modes in different scenarios, which might be less than the estimated 50h no ANC, 35h ANC on, but realistically I'm probably listening at a higher volume than their tests. Bluetooth 5.3 is nice, and the stability and range are here. The downloadable app is quite nice and lets you change features, eq settings, and even customize the button functionality. Sound wise, I found them passable. First of all, they sound quite good for general listening - especially for the price. There are 3 equalizers available, selecting them with a simple press of the MFB button. I found the default ‘Flat’ to be my preferred equalizer, but there is a bit more bass power to be found on the ‘Bass’ setting. ‘Clear’ I found to take the wind out of the sails for some songs, but some may prefer the de-emphasized bass. Listening to artists like Pink Floyd, you get a fair amount of soundstage considering they are cans. Volume is lacking, with a maximum volume level that is comfortable and left me wanting a bit more. That said, cans tend to sound more closed in and generally I’d say JVC has excellent drivers here, and the rigidity of the construction shows. They don’t seem to have a very good dynamic range, and the mids and highs get quite muddled together. Bass tends to hit more than it vibrates, and mids seem more distant than they should. That isn’t to say they sound bad, but they sound their price range. I will say, using the equalizer in the app is probably the most intuitive experience I've had - even given the 3 band limitation. You can choose the target frequency, width, and amplitude - creating a gentle v curve added a bit of depth, but I couldn't improve the sound quality too much. ANC is, not great. The pads do an ok job of isolating environmental noise, which for any set of cans will be the ANC limiting factor. This isn’t a pair of earbuds sealed in your ear canal. That said, they can cancel a bit of noise, but for instance, mowing in them I still heard a lot of the mower. Even sitting around the fairly quiet house, with ANC on, I could hear my dryer 2 rooms over. With ambient mode on, I felt I could hear about what I would expect from a set of open back headphones. Ambient did have some artifacting, what I would consider ‘overshoot’ (the volume of certain sounds/frequencies seemed to be over amplified). Overall I found this feature to be less useful in day to day life than I hoped. The JVC HA-S75N sets out to provide a full feature-set of active noise canceling over the ear headphones on a budget price. Construction lives up to being lightweight. The choice of materials seems to be strong and non-maring. Noise canceling is quite basic, and didn’t hit the mark for what I’d expect for the feature. Sound is middling, but passable for its budget price. If you can curb expectations in line with the price, this is a decent set of cans that is comfortable for extended wearing. If you have high expectations of your sound, or need hearing protection for travel/lawn care, look elsewhere, as both the sound and ANC features are quite basic. For the price they deliver good value, but still leave a lot on the table for more expensive competitors to pick up.

If you're looking for a great over-the-ear headphones set that won't break the bank, check out the JVC Noise Cancelling HA-S57N. This is extremely light set that you won't feel on your head when used for several hours. It's mostly plastic which is not a negative, but positive due to its lightness. Using it with Bluetooth is extremely simple: just turn on the power button and you'll see these JVC headphones on your device. You're now ready to use them. Besides the power button, you get volume buttons and well as a noise cancelling or ambient sound mode to turn it off. It's your choice! Sound quality is amazing with clear audio and profound bass. You can probably get better sound out of more expensive headphones, but the difference would be negligible. These headphones are rated at 35 hours with ANC on and 50 hours with ambient sound on. The HA-57N headphones can also be used for making phone calls with the included mic. Sure, you can spend more on headphones. But you can't beat the value that these headphones offer.

These JVC OVER EAR ANC HAS75NB headphones have positively surprised me. JVC is a great brand identified with a good price/quality ratio and the headphones deliver a great nice sound, great wireless capacity, and (the best) active noise canceling functionality. Some Pros of this model: With a nice sound delivery, the headphones include three preset setups: base/clear/flat to accommodate the music to your preferences. This is a superlight headphone with nice-sized cups that cover the entire ears. Easy controls directly in your cups, for volume and noise cancellation. Also, select the preset setups. A quite decent battery life with more than 30 hours (tested) of intense use. Very decent mic, and the clarity of the voice while using the phone or in video calls is being appreciated by others. Cons: No possibility of a wired connection due to the absence of a jack port. I think that is some flights, I would appreciate the nice canceling at the same time I can connect my headphones to the flight screen. The sense of fragility of the headband is linked to the limited one-year guarantee of the manufacturer. No carrying case for a device that is advised for travel. No power plug is included just the USB cable. No app or additional software to tailor sound to your needs. Only one device is connected simultaneously. This is a limiting factor while working and I need to change the connection between the laptop and the phone. In a market with so many options for headphones, I found that this model in its simplicity is great for a daily commute in noisy environments while listening to music. Adding extra features is coming with an additional price tag and I could not be ready for. I recommend it

The JVC HA-S75NB actually are not a bad pair of headphones. You get ANC, Ambience mode, along with AAC codec support for iOS devices. Battery life is impressive with up to 50 hours with ANC mode off, with it up to 35 hours. The ear-cups are comfortable to wear for those extended sessions. The only drawback for me was the quality of the audio playback, which is a shame since the bass was actually decent. Out of the box, they are defaulted to the flat profile. I immediately changed it to the bass profile. The overall sound profile is flat-sounding, but the mids and highs are missing some clarity. It kind of has this harsh sound to it. For the price, I was expecting a little more better sound quality. I did play it back from an iPhone to utilize that AAC codec. The app does allow you to create a custom EQ. I played around with it and it did help, but not much. Overall, I think it’s worth considering spending a little more for better audio playback. Considered them if your priority is battery life.

These are simple, light weight long battery life headphones with above average sound. These are perfect for those of us going back into the office and need to block out all the noise. They work well in the office environment and can double as a set of headphones for calls in a pinch. Setup is easy, charge them up and pair them with your device. Though I will say the charging cord provided is one of the shortest I've ever seen and only works well as a backup when you can find a longer cord and can place them on the desk next to your PC or USB hub to charge. It would have been nice if the cord weren't three inches long and instead the usual three feet. That aside though the battery life is great. I've been able to get about 30 hours on a full charge with ANC on which will cover about three days at the office, a charge overnight and I can get another three days. The sound is above average and fine of the office where you aren't as focused on the music in deep listening, they work well. The Microphones work fine for calls as I didn't get any complaints from my teammates when I used them for a few calls while my work headset was charging. Overall these are a nice pair of wireless ANC headphones and I like them for the purpose I got them for.

I have had numerous sets of over-the-ear headphones throughout the years (along with in-ear earbuds too of course) & so I have a nice collection of headphones to choose from based on what I am doing, and what I am needing in that particular moment. And with that I have seen everything from really great to decent to even downright awful over-the-ear headphones. So, where do these JVC HAS75NB over-the-ear headphones land for me? I would say they are OK...they aren't great, but they aren't bad, they are just a bit above average for me. Why is that, in my opinion? I think for me it has to do with a few things, which I will expand on below: 1. Fit 2. Sound Quality 3. Noise Cancelling Quality Now, let's break each of those down a little further. Fit These do not feel like they fit my head well. They cause me to experience ear fatigue. What I mean by that is that they feel almost like they are too tight & too loose all at the same time. I do not know how they pulled that off but it does not feel good to me. I find myself just not using them as much as I thought I would after I got done testing them for a full week. Which stinks because I had a pair of over-the-ear headphones with ANC that I really loved but they got wet and so I've been searching for a replacement. And these JVCs just do not do everything I need 100% of the time. Sound Quality The sound quality to me just sounds flat. Even with using various apps on my phone and on my computer to play with various EQs it just sounds flat. That's the best way I could put it. They really didn't sounds to me like I had hoped they would with some of my other JVC headphones & earbuds from the past. Maybe it's me and my ears being snobbish? I don't know. They are sub-$100 and so I wasn't expecting to be blown away with how clear & crisp they sounded but I also was expecting a little better based on my experience with JVC. Noise Cancelling Quality This is where over-the-ear headphones, and even earbuds, are truly make or break for me. I can usually deal with the sounds quality issues of headphones/earbuds that I use by tweaking the EQ enough to make it at least passable for me. But when I want Noise Cancelling I truly want to have Noise Cancelling. When I was testing these out I could not really tell the difference between NC on and NC off. To me it sounded like they were the same. Which is a bummer because when I am out mowing the yard, or working on our cars, or when I am washing & cleaning our cars I want NC to be able to make the noise I am making to be but a muffle if not completely make it disappear and these headphones just do not accomplish this at all. In closing, I can't see myself using these headphones every day, but I can see me using them sporadically if I don't need really good NC/ANC. I truly believe JVC is a great brand, making good products at an extremely fair price point usually-I just wish these checked all the boxes for me. But it appears the hunt for the perfect Over-the-Ear headphones will continue for me.

I am struggling to like this product. The headphones are not awful but they don’t inspire me to make them a part of my daily routine. I think the headphone market is overcrowded and JVC has put out a mediocre product. There are a few nice features, but overall I can’t say I would recommend this product. Here are my thoughts. Over-the-ear headphones are my preferred choice of headphones for every activity that requires headphones, except running, so I come into this review expecting to be happy with the product. JVC has used a form factor that is large enough for the ear cups to enclose my big ears while light enough to be comfortable over the long hours of wear. 7 hours into wearing them and my neck is not hurting but I’m annoyed at the buttons and the overall functionality. The left-hand side of the headphones are the main power button and USB-C plug so they get touched before putting them on and see no action when wearing the headphones. The rest of the controls are on the right-hand side. I have no qualms with the volume up and down button as it is a slender easy to work with control point, but why is the multipoint button on this side of the unit? It has no place here and I found myself accidentally pressing the button when all I was wanting to do was turn the Ambient sound mode on and off. And what does the multipoint function button even exist for? A trip the user manual revealed this button is JVC’s answer to automatic device swapping. For example while I am listening to music on my phone then I take a Zoom meeting on my computer I want the headphones to swap automatically over to the Zoom, then back to the music when the zoom ends. The multipoint function button helps with this transition, or should, in most cases I ended up hanging on the people who called me, or joined a zoom and never heard music again until I disabled and reenabled Bluetooth on my cell phone. The button is poorly placed on the headphones and the functionality it is suppose to enable does not work well. The final two items I want to highlight are Noise Cancellation and audio quality. The headphones use Active Noise Cancellation which is off by default (how odd) and must be enabled by pressing the Ambient sound mode button. Active Noise Cancellation does consume more power so I can see the case for leaving it off by default but I feel like this should be user configurable. The noise cancellation is not all that great offering minimal audio relief from vacuums, garage trucks, and police sirens. I was unable to test these on an airplane. What annoyed me the most is that when Noise Cancellation is not in use it turns out the ambient sounds that my ears naturally tune out are amplified by wearing these headphones. If I have to keep the noise cancellation always on to avoid this ambient noise effect what good is having a button to toggle the feature on and off for? What about audio? How does music sound? The lack of audio fidelity is what pushed me over the edge to declare what I said in the beginning: I am struggling to like this product. The default audio level was too low for any audio source I attempted making sounds feel distinct and muted. I had to crank up the volume on the headphones to uncomfortable levels to “hear” the music and the audio quality remained functional but not enjoyable. Drowning out ambient noise by cranking up the volume of the music is not what I call an effective strategy for Noise Cancellation headphones. Overall the audio fidelity fell flat.
