I’ve read that BBQ purists look down on anything that automates the process, so I imagine the Konnected Joe is included in that. I, however, absolutely love it. Getting it connected to WiFi via the Kamado Joe app was quite easy and I was happy to see that KJ releases firmware updates for the grill module. From there, the learning curve was pretty shallow. Set your desired temp, set the top vent as instructed by the grill, press the auto-fire button, and sit back and relax as the grill does its thing. Go work out or pressure wash the garage siding; the grill will alert you when it reaches temp. After that, set your probe to meat/cut type and temp and get alerted when your meat gets up to temp. SO EASY!!. If you want to go without the techno-doodads, feel free; it’s still a KJ. So far, I’ve made the juiciest spatchcock and beer can chicken I’ve personally ever cooked. Today, I used the DoJoe accessory to make three lovely pizzas. I can’t wait to get the JoTisserie and maybe a half moon soapstone. The possibilities with this KJ are so plentiful and it’s amazing to have it be so easy to use with the built-in tech in the Konnected Joe. I’m beyond impressed and so happy to have found this in like-new condition for a deal-of-lifetime price. FYI, the element has extra draw the initial time it warms up. This will trip any GFCI that it is plugged into. Use a regular outlet for its initial warm up so it can temper. After that, go back to your outdoor GFCI.

First unit I received had a defective fan but Bestbuy was so great about sending me a new one. You cannot find a better charcoal grill better than this one.
