No reason to buy the more expensive mount unless you want to move the tv often/daily. More expensive mount recommended by Best Buy people if move tv often. I just wanted mine to sit higher & needed corner mount because of placement.

We put it in the bedroom, but it would probably be better in a living room where you may want to swivel the tv for viewing for people throughout the living room.
