Customers frequently mention the excellent sound quality and beautiful appearance of the LS50META Bookshelf Speakers. Some users noted that the bass response is limited, while others found the size to be unobtrusive. The build quality also received significant praise. However, a subwoofer might be considered for those who prefer a warmer, more bass-heavy sound.

Amazing bookshelf speakers, going to use a sub with them. Lacking just a little bass

Not sue KEF’s are worth the big bucks. My Elacs and Klipsch sound just as good for a lot less moula
A bit too hot and over-rated in my book

After an extended listen session the the Meta’s I am very impressed. I have not been this excited about the sound of a speaker since I had Krell bi-amped NHT 3.3’s, The Meta is a true upgrade from the LS50’s. They have the sound of speakers, I can’t afford. The sound is just so natural and smooth. Very good recordings are so surreal. The detail is incredible. I hear instruments that before I only heard using my Koss 950 headphones. Anyway I will be interested to hear what other think of the LS50 Meta

I use a pair of these for my center channel, where they perform better than anything else that I have tried. The unusual design is very attractive, and it is helpful to be able to choose among four colors. The Uni Q driver works very well, giving a coherent output that separate tweeters and woofers can't match. Expensive, but well worth what they cost.

Although it will cost more to acquire the Meta version of LS50 than the last generation ones, it is totally worth it because it sounds better and looks better, especially the blue and golden color combo. Be sure to mate it with a similar priced high quality amplifier to get the best out of it. It will sound even better and fuller if you add the KEF KC62 powered sub. What a beautiful sounding match that is.

These speakers have great mids and highs.they may require a subwoofer depending on the amp you use.The reason I bought these was to replace an old pair of speakers.I had been comparing five different bookshelf speakers ranging in price from $1600-$3000. the reasons I bought these are #1 they were close by. #2 size, I didn’t need to rearrange furniture. #3 great online reviews.

If you love the energy and happiness music gives you instead of "critical listening" this isn't for you. This is a professional monitor. It takes the soul out of music. Get Klipsch rp 600m or svs ultra bookshelf. They both destroy these kef speakers in liveliness and soundstage. I struggled for a week to make these sound right in my room, I have 10k into a pre amp and amp, and still couldn't do it. My Klipsch now live were these did and I'm happy again.

Open box shipped as new to Best Buy

Ordered these full price as new (not open box). Went to pick them up and the box had been retaped and was labeled open box, but Best Buy staff said it wasn’t their style of labeling. They think it came that way from the manufacturer. I paid for new and wanted new, so I returned them. I didn’t reorder since there was no guarantee it wouldn’t happen again.
