To the people who complained about having no bass, they weren't installed correctly. I mean you have to have realistic expectations because it is a 6.5" woofer not a subwoofer but it plays down to 60hz without fuss. If it's lacking, check your install, the speaker has to be sealed all the way around, if there are gaps around the mounting hole, anything will sound bad. I purchased these for my girlfriends car because I've had kenwood excelon components in my car for years and they are the absolute best speakers under $200. I love my Type R subs but the Type R components are too harsh, kenwood has a knack for smooth dome tweeters and this set delivers as expected. They sound good off a deck but add an amp and you'll be saying "who needs rear fill?"

CANNOT BEAT SOUND FOR THE $

Running 2 pair of these with kfc-p1065 4" on mb quart oa800.4 it's like a concert hall on 2 wheels. My friend known as the sound Dr.who used to work for alpine building sema show cars, and now does high end Harley-Davidson audio was greatly impressed with the sound quality. What made it better was the look on his face when he found out I had no dynamat or sound deadning material and how little I spent. I am considering swapping my 4" for the kfcp509ps to take it to the next level of insanity.

Originally had another pair of speakers installed in a 2012 Jeep Wrangler to replace the factory speakers. Both tweeters in previous speakers blew so returned to best buy to replace those. The speakers I was replacing were component Pioneer speakers. Best Buy did not have the speakers so I had to chose an alternate. At the time, the Best Buy did not have the Kenwoods on display to hear, but I had no chose due to price. I ended up paying an extra 40 dollars for the speakers (that was the difference between the old and new). When I drove the Jeep home, I couldnt really hear the speaker quality because I had the top off. When I returned home, I replaced the top to check sound. I have to say, these are the worst speakers I have ever paid for. The base is muffled and soft. The mids are also mixed in the woofer and the tweeter. While I think the highs are great, the rest of the sound is a disappointment to say the least. I would say the original styrofoam stock speakers had better base and clearer mids than these speakers. Even my wife made a comment on how bad the speakers sounded. While the Jeep isnt exactly the best vehicle for sound, these speakers are not worth half of what they retail. This is the 3rd set of speakers we have installed, and this was easily the worst.

I bought these components to go with a Kenwood deck. Install only took an hour but was poor quality. Cd player tilts to one side and can see through to inside the dash. Plus, read the yellow sheet before you sign after they are finished installing. I have tried every setting on the cd player and can't get these speakers to produce bass that sounds good. The radio actually has more bass than any cd i have listened to. I have only had these speakers a week and there is already a crackle in the passenger tweeter. Don't know if they were hooked up wrong or are just a poor product design. My last system cost over $2,000. I had Infinity Reference components that totally blew me away. Guess i got spoiled. Taking the components back this weekend for a refund.

I'm using a 75 W amp to power these. They produce powerful bass and have a pretty good frequency response. The in-line crossover does not occupy a lot of space so it's great for compact locations. Tweeters could have been a little more powerful but they are okay for their size.
