    Won’t stay connected to Car Play

    Maybe had a defective unit? Kept disconnecting from Car Play and would have to unplug and plug back in to get to work.

    Maybe I just got a bad unit but I was not happy with this one. Withinin 2 hours of having it, the steering wheel controls went out. Then next day, the unit froze on me 3 times, had to turn the car off and back on for it to work. The sound quality was average when it did work. Exchanged it for the Sony and couldn't be happier. The Geek Squad guys were great and even one of them said there was issues with this unit.

    I bought this 2 years ago, and have been using it primarily using Apple CarPlay. For the longest, using this headunit would crash CarPlay, I would need to unplug my phone and plug it back in everytime I started driving. Even then, when I had a solid drive go the unit would freeze up and restart and I would have to plug my phone in again. I wouldn't have to restart my car though, like other reviews said. I changed my cord and did the firmware update. Nothing changed. I don't know if I got a defective unit or Best Buy did a choppy install, but I would not recommend this. The 299 price tag is appealing but you really do get what you pay for.

    I got this for my dad for his birthday. He absolutely loves it and always talks about it. Very easy to use and set up.

    Bluetooth doesn’t stay connected. Makes only 1 speaker work on my car. No day / night adjusting which has a bright light in your eyes at night

    Kenwood DMX4707 did not function as advertise. Issues with Android Auto USB connection as well as Mirroring.

    This is the most expensive piece of garbage I've ever spent money on! I can't connect to Android Auto and screen mirroring is not working either. Brought it back to the Geek Squad and after almost 2 hours and 2 installation techs, I was told to use a certain cable. I have a Samsung Galaxy note s20 ultra so it's not like I'm trying to connect an outdated device. When connected through Bluetooth, the volume setting is ridiculously slow when increasing or decreasing! I had a better system that came stock in my old 2011 SUV. Very disappointed and ticked off that this is the recommendation of the Geek Squad and even more disappointed and angry that I spent almost 700 dollars on it. (I added the wiring harness for steering wheel controls) Kenwood, Best Buy and the Geek Squad should be ashamed to sell this!

    I did a online order for thos deck while speaking with a online rep. the rep insured me that i could pick up & have stereo installed same day. The online rep put in the order, said i could pick up in a hour & have installed same day. went to go pick up part an they refused to install. Even tho i was told it would be. They wouldnt exchange the same day, they wanted me to wait to return. I had to drive a hour out my way to go to another bestbuy just to it returned. the manager at the concord store told me it was a 8 month wait to get installed.

    We bought two of these radios for our vehicles. One died two days after we made the purchase. The other died just over one year after purchase. Am very glad we had Geek Squad protection. The one radio was good while it was still working but the track record earns a fair rating.

    Terrible radio. I've already been through two. It freezes up,touch screen locks up, i have to turn off tge vehicle and back on firvitcto wirk again. I wss told this stereo is built by a third party not kenwood. The technician who told me that recommended an upgrade for $100 more.

    No buttons so the volume, etc. are hard to find quickly. The interface is confusing. The back up camera is extremely dark. It's just OK.

    I bought this in January of 2021 and got it in February of 2021 and since the beginning of September 2021 the radio has become usless. I can't get any sound since I hit my breaks hard. The connections are good, my suv is good. The radio has failed by rebooting or not turning on all together.

    Pretty good for the price point. Make sure you use a USB 2.0 (not 3.0) to connect CarPlay anything. Screen is dull in full sun. Screen scratched and got rub marks way too easily. At just under 2 years the bottom 1-inch became unresponsive. So CarPlay became such a pain to use as I couldn't click START on the map or get to the dashboard nor anything else that's at the bottom of the screen. Never got the hands-free mic to work properly, always sounded like I was far away.
