Purchased and installed 2/13/21. In March 2022, just a few weeks after the factory warranty was out, the stereo wouldn't power on. Scheduled a diagnostic with Best Buy and they said it was the stereo and not any of the connections. Was quoted a repair price from Kenwood (United Radio) of $300 to $325 plus shipping fees! After a couple of months of negotiating with Kenwood to extend the factory warranty, the hassle of taking the stereo out and shipping it, waiting for them to order parts, ship it back, and get it reinstalled by Best Buy, we had a functioning stereo again. Well, at least it functioned for another 8 months. In December of 2022, the stereo died AGAIN. So disappointed in this Kenwood product. Now shopping for a different brand.

I am not as impressed with this unit as I thought I would be. First, it required multiple adapters to get all controls to work -> steering wheel, backup camera, USB car play, etc to the tune of 300-400 which is almost what I paid for the unit. It does offer the ability to play DVDs through the OEM DVD player but when you switch to that mode the sound for the front passengers drops down to only a few speakers and sounds terrible. The screen is very glossy so its hard to see in any kind of sunlight and despite playing with the color controls the colors look washed out and just "off". Finally I didn't think I would miss having knobs but it really is something that is annoying. With a knob you can quickly reach down and turn the music up or down. With the buttons you have to take your eyes off the road to figure out which is up/down and then hold the button down to try and get the right volume "dialed in". In retrospect I would have had the pioneer unit installed.

The Apple car play is off the hook. I think I’ll get another for a CRV that we recently inherited.
