This GPS system has a lot to offer. Aside from the normal directions, it also gives elevation, which is good to know when you are off road. You DO NOT need a cell phone signal for this unit to work, which is great, because when you are in the middle of nowhere your phone usually does not work.

More of an entry-level unit - not impressed

This is Entry-level in almost every way. You only get a "quick start" guide and while you CAN download a complete manual, they don't make it easy - and frankly few of the buttons and actions are very intuitive. Then, Kenwood cheaped-out on nearly every function: XM radio works but Sirius' add-ons like Traffia and Weather aren't supported; the Traffic feature on Garmin Navigation is not supported; there's no "home" feature to show, say, just the clock - you need to ALSO be running the radio; you can't just run Navigation, you also also have to have the radio on, etc., etc, etc. I would not have gone for this unit had I realized how much of an underperformer it is. AND expensive to boot.
