After much research I decided on this Kenwood DDX9703S to update the 2002 Acura TL my father gave me. I also had a back up camera installed. The sound is very good and the EQ is very versatile and gets the sound I want. The menus are intuitive and self explanatory. I'm 60 and didn't have to reference the manual. I'll probably have the optional steering wheel volume control installed later. The unit plays loud enough for old school rock/soul/country/jazz/blues. Best Buy did an incredible job installing the unit and my car is now up to date on technology. The Apple Car Play is really nice as I travel a lot. Apple maps has worked fine all over Northern California, but I wish Apple Car Play supported Google Maps, Waze and HereWeGo and their own Calendar app. Not the fault of the unit. The back up camera (Metra) is clear and bright during the day, a little grainy at night. A must for the amount of driving I do. The tilt screen is great to use if the sun is washing out the display and also hides the DVD/CD payer slot, allowing for a larger screen. Phone calls are clear and background noise well muted, but my car is pretty quiet anyway. Being able to have text read out loud and to be able to respond hands free is a tremendous safety feature. Playing Apple Music through Apple Car Play sure beats CD's as I sometimes travel 200-400 miles in day. I only use Apple Car Play while using Apple Maps, which is most of the time. However, using blue tooth works just a well. Sound is very personal so I'm not going to say whether this unit is better than this or that unit. That's a personal choice. Being somewhat of an audio snob (my home preference is vinyl) I can tell you this unit does produce very good sound at its price point.

First time kenwood owner. Bought this radio on black Friday special with free install and love it. All kinds of features and add-ons for later. Sounds great in my jeep wrangler. Apple carplay is awesome.

Works great with my iPhone. The backup camera is awesome. Maps are always updated because they run on the iPhone. Sounds way better than my previous JBL radio

just had DNX 891HD which had all bells and whistles this time I opted to put my $100 GPS back in the car so I just really wanted everything that that 891 had sound-wise which this one does it has both cameras The Equalizer the DSP and all the good sound just lacking the navigation for an extra five hundred bucks I'll live great Buy

i never had a kenwood befor this unit but i really love the way it looks! made a huge approvement on my dash! plus love the many different music listening screens you can look at plus ease of use! best audio installer vince is a real pro and knows what hes doing and does install in a reasonble time. the kenwood really sounds great with the alpine speakers a also purchased at best buy! i highly recomend both of these products.

It’s exactly what I was looking for. My main focus was being able to use Apple car play. It works fantastic using the gps along with whatever else you are doing with an issue. One added bonus to me is how well the hands free phone function works even though my car did originally come with that option from the factory

Works amazing with Apple CarPlay, updated my old Ford radio and it was like having a modern car with all the handsfee safety and added a backup camera.

I got this unit to replace the factory unit in my used 2004 Ram truck. It has lots of features and is pretty easy to set up. I recommend purchasing a cable to connect from the radio to the factory connector; makes t really easy. CarPlay works well. I hooked up a backup camera to my tailgate so that it is on all the time and I can bring it up if I want. The backup trigger works great so that when I put the truck in reverse the screen automatically comes up. I installed a backup camera on my travel trailer and hooked it to the "front camera" input. This way when I hook up my trailer I can put the camera from the trailer on the screen and it acts as my rear-view mirror in addition to my backup camera. If I want to see what's happening what the trailer hitch I just switch over to the backup camera on the tailgate. I do have to shut off the rear camera most of the time with the trailer otherwise when I put the truck in reverse it will automatically switch to the tailgate camera. Turning the rear camera off on the unit (a software setting) keeps that from happening so that I can use the backup camera on the trailer when in reverse. The sound is not as full as I expected. I'm using the factory speakers and an external subwoofer. The voice is quite clear but midrange seems light to me. I'm still playing with it though so that may change. Have only had it installed for 4 weeks. With the subwoofer (and separate subwoofer amp) it's got a nice low-end kick to it. All in all, I am quite happy with this unit.

Very satisfied with my purchase of the Kenwood DDX9703S! I installed it in my 2017 Nissan Altima SV. My main reason was for Apple CarPlay and the built in HDMI input. Still learning all the features, but am enjoying the overall ease of use! I also added the module and harness to retain my steering wheel controls and backup camera.

This works perfectly with my 2006 Toyota Corolla. At first, I was thinking about buying a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX but, after bringing the wife to the store she preferred the Kenwood for its simplicity. I love it (after the firmware update; before the update, the Compass was not working and the clock would shift to a different time zone, and added smartphone control... so if you have these issue, download the new update!) Bluetooth auto pairs and android auto is easy to use. I bought a WiDi adapter ( Best Buy item SKU: 5637023) and hooked it up to the HDMI. I downloaded Kenwood's Smartphone Control App from the android store and was able to mirror my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge to the display and use my finger to control my phone via the Kenwood unit... wirelessly!! It's like having a fully functioning android OS on my Kenwood unit.

I purchased a lower end Pioneer double din unit for my Jeep and it's OK,but this upper end Kenwood is by far a nicer unit...User friendly, great layout on the screen and easy to see functions-the adj. tilt display is also an excellent feature. I'm in my early 50's so having a large clear screen is very important to me as I want to minimize distraction to my driving. Also the sound is incredible...I think for the money its an excellent head unit. I would have given it 5 stars, but I do still have prob with it linking up via bluetooth to play Pandora...It might not even be a head unit issue? I usually have to just plug my Iphone in to play everything which really isn't an issue as it charges my phone at the some time. I had geek squad install it in my 2004 Denali Yukon. Paired w/ my stock Bose sys. and with the addition of a Kicker amp and 12in sub.I had Best Buy install-the system has amazing sound quality...I def recommend this unit...

Apple play is well worth the price on this unit. Planty of great features. Apps are the new way,Easy navigation. Only downer is apps do act up,radio needs to be turned off and on.

When looking for a new head unit for my vehicle, I browsed a good number of different makes and models. While I didn't want to spend $800 for the top-of-the-line radio, I did find this to be the best within the mid-range market. This product offers a quality screen, excellent sound experience, and most importantly, Apple Car Play (something most other brands and models did not offer). While I usually use it in Bluetooth mode, Apple Car Play allows, even more, functionality for your vehicle.

I purchased this stereo and had it installed by Best Buy for three reasons. First, CarPlay has so many possibilities. The ability to have navigation in a vehicle that previously did not is great! Second, Bluetooth connection starts my Spotify playlist as soon as I get in the truck. No more fumbling around with an Aux jack. Third, I really needed a back-up camera. I had the camera installed at the same time. They work great together. The only con is that I wish the on screen graphic was more customizable.

Great receiver, used adapter to interface with steering wheel controls. Finally got my backup camera and the Bluetooth interface with my phone provides both a music source and handsfree phone service with all the bells and whistles. Android Auto is a great program and functions flawlessly with my equipment, handsfree texting and current and up to the minute traffic on Google Maps, navigation has never been easier. Just tell Google your destination and it works. Oh yeah, no more having to stop and pull over to start or stop navigation, just say what you want to do. Full function for Android Auto requires a wired connection, but you get a 2 Amp charge out of the deal. So far very happy.

This radio was recommended by two Best Buy employees. It went on sale over the holidays, so we purchased it with a back-up camera for our daughter's car. It was recommended because of the Apple play....hook up the iPhone and then put the phone away because the apps that are displayed on the phone are now displayed on the screen of the radio--maps, texting, phone call, music apps, etc. It works very well and easy to use. Would highly recommend this radio!

Bought and installed this in our Ford F-350. The was to replace the one we had that the screen broke. We love this and it works great. Kids can watch movies on it while we are traveling and it connects to our phone quickly. I do think it is a little over priced since it only has a few more features than the model a step below it that is half the price so it could technically be cheaper but overall it is a good value for the features provided. We chose this model because it has navigation that the other model we had did not.

I bought this deck because I needed hands free calling for a sales job. The android auto function works way better then just connecting my phone via Bluetooth. I have a Galaxy S7 and all you have to do is plug your original cord that came with your phone into the provided USB cable and it works great!. The features on the deck itself are also easy to use.

I’ve owned standard sized Kenwood stereos before and I’ve trusted their quality. This stereo so far has met my expectations. The pros: very bright screen. Easy to figure out. HDMI connection to play PS4 or other devices. Multiple cameras inputs for a rear or front camera. Love the Apple CarPlay. Cons: no remote, switching stations or tuning in the radio not as easy.
