I had this unit installed in my 2010 Hyundai Elantra and it’s the perfect everything! It offers customization like changing the background and also makes it easy for if I want to install a backup camera in the future. I would recommend this radio if looking for Apple CarPlay like I was. I had Best Buy install it and the man did a great job out of the Cranberry Twp. PA. Store!

Good sound quality when paired with proper speakers. Works well with aftermarket backup camera and you can set up grid lines. Android auto works flawlessly and head unit has more features than I could write about here and they all function well. Fits perfectly in a first gen Avalanche and looks like it belongs from the factory.

I’ve got a 2006 Toyota 4Runner I love but the technology was really beginning to fall behind, no Bluetooth, faulty knobs , stock and dated tech. This has so far been a good purchase and is a great stereo. Very responsive touchscreen, nice features, Apple CarPlay, great Bluetooth connectivity with zero issues, tethers to all apps immediately (Pandora,Google,Google Maps,YouTube, etc) ,backup camera looks beautiful on screen. Chris and his buddy (sorry don’t know other tech’s name) have been awesome. A few hiccups along the way with faulty camera , camera voltage exchanger and wiring getting uneven exchange of power and even my rear hatch window severing some displaced wires but each time they politely helped solve the issues in a very timely manner. Awesome service , I’ve personslly been to this location for my last 2 vehicles (2004 Crossfire) and will continue to use their Autotechs and GeekSquads in future. Thanks again

Had to replace the factory stereo\nav system in my 2008 Highlander Hybrid. This system was on sale a good price and had the features I needed: Apple Car Play, factory back up camera support and compatibility with the car's existing steering wheel controls

Swapped it in my 2004 ford F150 truck. Plugged in super easy with the optional harness. Wish I had a 2006 or newer truck to try out the Maestro features. Backup camera worked great. Haven't spent enough time with WAVE nor android auto to figure out if I like that or not.

Bought this because I wanted Apple CarPlay. This head unit is excellent... what really impressed me is how much better sound is. The sound is just a lot clearer than the factory head and I didn't realize how much worse the factory head was.

I picked this up on sale for my son, who needed a new radio for his first car. It's very nice, everything you expect it would be, so if it fits your ride, I say go for it. Good luck trying to figure out whether or not it fits though. Don't trust the info you will find here, because it told me this system would not be compatible. The Best Buy system said that with others as well, even though they turned out to be. Be aware, you will need to spend a few dollars more for the installation kit and whatnot, so be sure you get all that info up front if you are trying to squeeze out every last dollar. It shouldn't be too much more. Not sure what exactly, because my son paid for all that, but I don't think he spent more than $30. With free installation and expert advice in store though, you should be fine. .

I needed something for the new hands free law. I wanted something that could provide a navigation screen with my phone, SiriusXM capability, and the ability to add a back up camera later. This fit the bill and was on sale.

I bought this for my son's 2015 Mustang to replace the original which did not have a touch screen or navigation. This product works like a charm and connects to his phone, is very responsive.

Bought this in store and it was almost 200$ off at the time, what a steal! I absolutely love it, it’s got tons of features including a advanced equalizer, sound effects with all sorts of cool things you can do such as bass boost, includes waze, Apple play. Separate usb plugs depending if you have an iPhone or Android. Other different things you can purchase separately such as a backup camera, radar detector etc. definitely worth the price I got it at but even if it hadn’t been on sale it would still have been a solid investment!

I bought my last car stereo in 1998, it was the SONY CDX-C90, still functional today with the XDP-4000x, still my favorite unit today. This Kenwood DMX7705S comes close but does not beat the sound quality of the C90 unit. I'm a music guy I don't care much about phone stuff, I just want music via USB ports and be able to display all the info of a given song...Artist, Title, Album and covers art. This unit beats all other head units in the market today due to it's ability to have two USB ports, I have two 2TB portable drive, both plug-ins and can play music without a hitch, software very stable, never crash, no glitch of any sort. The only request that I have for Kenwood is that on the USB player interface I wish they can have a better looking layout, like progress bar, auto scroll of song title longer than screen can fit, be able to toggle time remain or total time being played. The sound analyzer can be approved with different style of display, BAR/dot/Peak hold/color...etc. The sound is muff with default DSP presets, but you can tweak it with the EQ and cross over to meet for desire. Overall it's a great unit, would buy again if needed, see how long this unit last.

I had this installed at Best Buy into a 2016 Honda HR-V. I hesitated getting the OEM unit replaced because I didn't want to lose LaneWatch. I did a fair amount of research and realized it was possible to keep the backup camera, steering wheel controls, and the lane watch camera. It is important to use the idatalink maestro rr with this head unit. It even shows maintenance minder alerts on the radio. The LaneWatch works with the right turning signal like expected and it works great. I'm very happy how this turned out. I also liked that this unit has 2 USB ports so I was able to maintain the OEM USB ports as well.

Got it on sale. Kenwood still makes quality products, and this head unit is great. I mainly use it for Apple Car play and it’s integrated perfectly in the touchscreen.

The Kenwood software is still very clunky to work with. The Apple Carplay works quicker but it doesn't have the Waze app (until later 2018 from Apple) . Kenwood makes you download at least three base apps before your phone will be recognized by the Kenwood portion of the radio. The sound is what you would expect and works well with either bluetooth or connected wire into the associated port. However, as I said, you need three downloads from the Apple store from Kenwood, then it will autodetect what the radio / phone can do together - mine downloaded 9 additional apps within the Kenwood app. To bring up Waze, at best, is just clunky. Open up Kenwood app on your phone; count to 10. Open up Waze on your phone and select your destination. Count. To. TEN. SLOOOOWLY. Plug in wire. Count. To. Ten. SLOOOOWLY. Then the Waze app *MAY* be detected. If not, unplug and replug it. No. Seriously. I would NEVER recommend trying Waze while driving, unless you have a passenger to futz with it, back and forth. Seriously, it's so slow, you'll wreck trying to fix the problem with connectivity. Most times, however, I fight with it because of Waze and that usually means I have to unplug and replug, and suddenly works like it should. Kenwood's firmware has a lot to be desired to give you the same OEM functionality that I was expecting in a car radio with map directions. The only thing I can hope for is the Waze CarPlay upgrade from Apple, then I won't have to use the Kenwood side of this radio at all.

I have a Jeep Renegade that had a base uconnect. I asked the dealer if it was something I could upgrade with them and they said not for under $5000. So I did some research and this paired with the interface you need to work this, made it seamless. I lost no features except for the built in compass and gained a lot of great features on top of car play like gauges for torque and tire pressures. It has a built in code reader. Tell your tech you want to be there for the set up portion as it may set your things to metric and turn on auto parking brake.
