Customers praise the DRV-N520 Dash Cam's outstanding video quality and ease of use. Many found installation straightforward and the price attractive. However, some users reported issues with the forward collision warning system's sensitivity. The compatibility with Kenwood systems was also a frequently cited positive.

Unnecessary wiring required

I returned this item because it required extra (unnecessary) wiring. I'm not going to pull apart the interior of my new car just to connect wires to turn the camera on when I turn the key- the majority of vehicles have a 12v outlet that turns on when you turn the key to the accessory position anyways. The wiring required was just a big no-go for me. Why would I want to spend the weekend wiring this thing up when I can get an equally high quality product I can just plug in and tuck the wires in line 10 minutes?

Had it for a few days. Wanted to reposition the dashcam and the connected cable is paper thin that it came out of socket holder. KENWOOD would not warranty it because of defect in design of cable connector. I retuned it without trouble. If you want this dashcam, position it to where you want it first before connecting it.

A dash cam not for older cars

I saw the 5 star review online and I thought "perfect." I bought it, was reading on how to set it up, and then I realized it's meant for newer cars. I thought it was an clip-on and go kind of product, but focusing the camera correctly requires a dashboard monitor. I don't have that in my 2006 truck.
