Will be returning, just got around to getting all the needed parts and speakers buzzes terribly, had to stuff filling in to dampen or tighten the cone. Hope the next one is better. Kenwood has always been a reliable product.

By reading some of the reviews, I thought the Kenwoods would do alto better. They aren't as strong as the company says they are. And after a week, I still was not happy with them. About 2 weeks ago, a friend of mine bought the same subs. He's not too impressed.

I bought a pair of these subs and they sounded terrible. I managed to sell them to another guy and only had to take a $50 loss. I bought Polk audio 12" subs and now Im happy!

i bought these had then installes professionally they blew in 16 days the best buy return policy is useless as just like them in assisting. also kenwood expects you to pay pretty much the cost of one of the subs to send for repairs thats non refundable. i thought manufacturer warranty meant it malfunctioned due to manufacturing defect meaning there fault . kinda stupid you have to pay yourself ro get them set if its manufacturing warranty

I try to remind myself that the less money i spend, the lesser the quality will be. I need to start buying better by spending more.

If you have a serious amp, even the softest most moderate set will blow these. I used them for temporary subs when mine blew until I could afford good ones again. Glad I got the warranties because it seems like I'm switching them every other week.

Not one, but both of the subwoofers I bought blew within a month. Not overpowered with my amplifier, tuned correctly, and wired correctly and still both were blown.

Best BANG For Your Buck! (Pun Intended)

I purchased this subwoofer to replace my JL Audio BassWedge system that was stolen a few months ago. The box and sub were the only things taken so that was all I needed to replace. I spent $300 on that package and I absolutely loved it! However, since I'm not keeping my car for much longer, I didn't want to break the bank replacing it. So I just needed something good and cheap. I picked the Kenwood up for $50 on sale and I'm so glad I did! With the sale price, it was the cheapest one available but the sales rep assured me that it would sound great... and he wasn't kidding! I picked up a ported box off the shelf and the installers had it assembled and installed in 20 minutes! And this thing hits HARD! I'm very impressed with it annnnnnd I spent less than HALF of what I spent on my original system and I can't even tell the difference! The ONLY wish that I have is that there was a grill or cover made for it to protect for the other stuff in my trunk.

    Great for $50

Definitely worth the $50. At first the sub sounded bad and didn't respond to intense bass very well and wasn't very loud, but as I used it and it broke in it obtained a respectable volume and decent hard hitting bass. At only $50 and 250 watts RMS I wasn't expecting very much but it performs perfectly for what it was built for. I have it in a ported enclosure with 1.3 cubic feet or air space and tuned to 34 Hz and I'm only using a 200 watt amp and it works great . Only con about it is the low frequency response isn't amazing, but hey, it was cheap and otherwise works great. Get one for yourself if you're looking for a cheap or entry level sub that doesn't requre large and expensive amps and enclosures.

Great value for the price. Works perfect in a sealed enclosure. Gave great low end bass and volume. Perfect addition to a 5 channel Alpine amp and 4 Alpine 6 1/2 speakers in my Chevrolet Venture van.

    Best BOOM for the buck

It doesn't show me as a verified purchaser but I bought this from BB a year ago for a great price and it's earned it's keep. Built an enclosed case, larger than recommended, and sounds incredible. It's so powerful, it would loosen the screws so I changed to brackets, adhesive caulk and duct tape(jk). People blowing these are obviously pushing it too hard. I used a cheap Dual XPR52 with bridged output of 200W rms and 600W peak @ 4 ohms. I've heard people say to get a stronger amp but I've found that it's easier and cheaper to couple the sub to an amp with slightly less power...in the end, you'll have crisp, deep bass and not have to worry about it blowing.

I recently sold all my big audio system equipment and purchased a kicker 600.1 amp and seen these subwoofers on sale so I thought I'd try them out I'm very impressed!!! I bought two and the price is unbeatable!!! Definitely handles 300 watts rms but only rated at 250.

I have two of these hooked up and they HAMMER. PERIOD. I was surprised when I put em in, these things produce a sound that is unparalleled at 50 bucks! These are also good with songs from bands such as Sublime with loud basslines. Any kind of music will get a legit boost with these suckers.
