You cannot set the strength on the 12-cup part but you can on the K-Cup to strong (which is just a slower brew time). Also, once it shuts off after 2 hours you cannot turn it back on unless you make more coffee. You also cannot set the auto turn off feature to a longer time. I almost returned it but ended up keeping it because I do like the K-Cup feature.
