I did notice that the rinse brew water was still a brown, but after a few more rinse brews, my coffee tastes much better.

Rinse Pods

I guess they worked . We use filtered water and regular and flavored coffee pods. I can't tell any difference in the flavor of the coffee like some reviewers have said they did.
