I bought one of these to replace another DVC sub which has served me well for almost 10 years. This was my first venture into the Kicker brand. All I have to say is: WOW! This sub hits very hard in a single, sealed enclosure and it surely out-performances my previous Cewin Vega sub. I mainly listen to EDM type stuff and this sub is simply perfect. This Kicker DVC subwoofer comes with two 4-Ohm Voice Coils, meaning, if wired in parallel, it will create a 2-Ohm load on the amp, and if wired in series, it will be a 8-Ohm load. It works well in setups where you just want to have one sub in the trunk but you want to use all of the available Watts from your amp. This sub is rated 300W RMS. My amp puts out 250W RMS at 2 Ohms. This combo is giving me great results although I could probably do a bit better with a more powerful amp (+/- 300W RMS at 2-Ohms amp would be perfect). Bottom line: it looks great, it sounds great, and hits low and hard (really, it does at 27-500Hz). Enjoy!

So the subwoofers work perfect after a warranty swap from kicker. Only thing is, the subwoofers are actually 4 ohm dvc. Which are easily wired to 8 ohm, but annoying nome the less. Overall I am Very satisfied with 2 of them and my neighbors hate me. Buy them lol

Used it to replace existing subwoofer in my old Realistic subwoofer encloser. Much better quality. Love Kicker brand.
