Replaced blown factory door speakers in 2000 volvo v40, screws lined up, had to press out old factory speakers to make room in door pocket for minimally invasive affect. Could have went with better ohms.

Excellent sound, easy to install for the most part. The hardest part is more so with the actually vehicle, but once you're in, the install is seamless, straight forward. Worked perfectly in my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS Extended Cab (making sure to specify my make/model to help you decide if this is right for you). I took a chance, and they worked perfectly. You'll be hard pressed to find good speakers at <$70. I matched these with a pair of Kicker CS series 6.25" speakers for my front door panels, and now I look for any excuse to go on a drive. Volume without an amp is great too, at >25 with a JVC head unit and the windows up, I don't hear the LS that's under the hood at low RPMS. The combined experience with the 6.25" is loud enough for a cruise with the windows down, too! If you're looking for a cheap setup that'll at most cost you $300-350 depending on what head unit you buy, don't overlook Kicker because of price (cheap typically means quality is iffy but not this time around). And if this was a setup you were looking to replicate yourself, well here is confirmation that it works! Though, to get the 6.25" in you will 100% need the Metra adapters, otherwise nothing is securing the speaker in place.
Hope this review helps you! Total install time for the whole setup referenced above took me about 3-5hrs, a first time home install. Spent most of that time getting the door panels off, next to wiring the head unit harness. Saved myself the trip to a custom sound shop, and more importantly the money.

For those seeking a significant audio enhancement in an older vehicle, such as my 2004 GMC Envoy SLT, these speakers present an excellent value. The sound quality is markedly superior to the factory speakers, and they have proven remarkably durable over eight months of consistent use, even under demanding conditions.
Installation Experience:
I chose to directly solder the speakers to the factory wiring to expedite the installation process. While this bypassed the need to wait for an adapter kit, it did require extra labor. For a cleaner and faster installation, I strongly recommend ordering the vehicle-specific adapter kit. This would transform the 20-minute soldering task into a simple 5-minute clip-in procedure.
Pros:
Exceptional Sound for the Price: Provides a noticeable improvement in audio quality compared to stock speakers, particularly when paired with an aftermarket amplifier.
Durable Construction: These speakers have endured eight months of use while maintaining excellent sound performance.
Relatively Straightforward Installation (Even Without Adapters): Removing door panels and replacing speakers is a simple process.
Amplifier Pairing: An aftermarket amplifier unlocks the full potential of these speakers for the best possible sound quality
Cons:
Soldering May Be Required (Without Adapter Kit): Soldering skills or the correct adapter kit are essential to avoid cutting and splicing wires.
Adapter Kit Recommended for a Streamlined Installation: Without the kit, soldering is necessary, which can be time-consuming.
Overall:
These speakers are a worthwhile upgrade if you possess basic car audio installation skills or are prepared to purchase the adapter kit. The sound quality is impressive for their price, and their durability is commendable. Despite my less patient installation, which took longer than it would have with the adapter kit, I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I would readily purchase these speakers again. For the best results, especially when using them with the factory radio, consider adding an aftermarket amplifier.
Recommendation:
If you are comfortable with minor modifications (or patient enough to wait for the adapter kit), I highly recommend purchasing these speakers!

The car audio team at Best Buy in Columbus, IN was very helpful and seemed to do very good work. Now about these speakers...expect to be disenchanted when they are installed, especially if you also added new tweeters. You are going to hear a lot of treble and hardly any bass. The team didn't advise me about this factor, so I was disappointed...like, congrats, you are the father of a beautiful baby tin-radio. In fact, the team started to recommend that I get a small bass booster later on. But on the way home, as I listened to music, the bass began to fill out a little at a time. Then it hit me: Break-in period. In an hour, the music was bordering on "plenty of bass." This process is continuing now, to the point that I may have to adjust my EQ again. Most audio equipment needs the break in period to sound its best. You may believe in car speaker break-in or you may not, but give these speakers a few days to loosen up before judging their fullness and bass. Otherwise, you'll get stressed and buy stuff you don't need. You'll hear the missing frequencies within hours, and your frown will turn upside down. No matter what new speakers you are getting, prepare for that initial "meh" quality. Same thing applies to new audio cables you may use to connect your device to the system. Good things come to those who wait...have faith, lay back, and burn baby burn.

I bought these to upgrade my stock speakers in my Subaru Wilderness Outback ( non-Harman Kardon edition). Though they are not magical forgive me for being an audiophile snob, I will say that they sound full and strong. Even when driven at high volume they do not exhibit a hint of distortion. They maintain musical balance and are very clear. I would certainly recommend them to anyone willing to spend the $. Kudos to Victor for a fine installation.
