this set has better highs& mids than all the other speakers in this price range that I tested at the store

I bought these speakers @ the recommendation of the car audio associate, even though they weren't the most expensive ones, like you'd think they'd try and push... They have great and clean sound... but don't have any real mid sound... Seems to mainly cover the highs.. so for a system that has a sub these may be perfect (hope to install my sub shortly to find out for sure) if not, then I'll be replacing these with Alpine units I was looking at when I bought these in the first place.. So I only rated these a 3 stars, due them really only covering the highs and not really doing anything for the mid sound, like one might think they should, or like other speakers in this class do.

I'm not sure why, but the Kicker speakers really just sound different from all of the other ones I listened to in-store. While the Kickers initially sounded less refined to me, once I had them installed in my car and broke them in, I believe they are at least slightly better than my preexisting premium speakers that had come with my car. For the price, I don't think there is a better value.

I replaced the original speakers in my 1996 toyota ran with these f/r. They are a definite improvement. I might get an amp to fully maximize these speakers potential. Improved bass over original speakers. A great deal considering the price of about $50.

These speakers sound fantastic and were easy to install.

On a budget and desided to go with theses for my Fucus St. Has alot of range from lows to highs. If you are a just looking for good quality speaks to go with that sub. Deffenitly a good pick. Ooh and don't forget the door speaker amp makes a huge defference . You won't get as much distortion from factory head units at higher volume.

I have installed plenty of audio systems in many different automobiles, I've also been a fan of Kicker for years but never installed anything into my personal vehicles. So after some thought I'd figured I'd give them a shot in my Saturn Sl with a Kenwood head unit. Previously this car had a full set of Kenwood speakers, amps and a 12" subwoofer but I needed the trunk space back as I've been doing a lot of traveling lately, so it all had to come out. After rewiring the speakers to run off the head unit I realized they lacked the bass and clarity without the amplifier and sub set up. So I'd figure I'd give kicker a try and run these speakers directly off the head unit and after the install I was surprised at how well they distributed the lows and highs and how low the distortion was even at high volume. I've been pretty satisfied with everything however these will never be able to fill the void my subwoofer did and I know no co-ax speakers ever will but if you're looking for descent sound at an affordable price these are for you.
