This collection is absolutely amazing because it has just about every kingdom hearts game apart from Dream Drop Distance. There's one issue I had though and that's the fact that Recoded and 358/2 are just movies containing a synopsis of the games which you can't play but are just meant to watch but other than that this collection is worth it for newcomers and veterans.

This game brings back great memories. The story is still solid even to today's standards and watching Pete be evil is satisfying. The controls are improved and so is the graphics. The camera angles seem to also be enhanced giving the player a better view on the whole environment.

This is a great way to have access to almost all the Kingdom Hearts games in one place on the current generation consoles. They look beautiful remastered in hd. It is a great way to replay the games that started it all while waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3 to be released

Each of these are timeless classics, enough said really. You like 6 Kingdom Heart games in one, you get your moneys worth and then some. I highly recommend this for many hours of action/shooter/rpg' ..gaming that has loads of heart/soul and many places to go.

Core Kingdom Hearts Experience Upgraded

So, Kingdom Hearts is a long saga and Kingdom Hearts III has released. You perhaps want to get into it yet have a bunch of catching up to do. If you are on the PS4, this collection would be the place to start.
For the price, about $20 when I got it, you get the two major installments of the series (Kingdom Hearts I and II) and two side stories (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep). In addition, cinematic version of 358/2 Days and Re Coded are included.
For Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, you are getting a graphics boost, upgraded frame rate and for Kingdom Hearts 2 you are getting the Final Mix version with new bosses and content originally only available on the PS3 2.5 set in North America which costs as much as this collection.
My main experience is with 2 and Birth by Sleep. With 2, after the early game, you have access to a flexible hack and slash system interspersed with reaction commands which one could easily compare to quick time events. Hence, some complain the game can be too easy using these commands though higher difficulties and the bonus boss fights would disabuse one of the notion.
Birth by Sleep was originally on the Playstation Portable and has a different system where abilities are collected and upgraded at player discretion throughout the game. In addition, it lets you play as three different characters with their own strengths and unique commands to collect, allowing the ability to switch campaigns if you don't like a particular style of play.
Now then, these games are blend of Disney and Final Fantasy characters with Yoko Shinomura providing a lovely soundtrack that will draw you into the story's emotions more than the voice acting might at times.
I admit I have not finished Kingdom Hearts 1 or done Chain of Memories as the latter is a deck of card battle system which not everyone liked and it sounded like it might not be my cup of tea. That said, the story directly links into Kingdom Hearts II so...it has its place in the canon.
Overall, for the price I would suggest picking this one up if you can find it. Worst case scenario it is available digitally but tends to run at much higher prices in that format.

The two mainline Kingdom Hearts games are now classics of the genre, and this meagerly-priced set includes both of those plus every single other game in the franchise, all remastered and better than ever.

What can I say about Kingdom Hearts that hasn't been said countless times already? This series is amazing, and this particular collection is the best way you can enjoy it. Not only are these the Final Mix versions of the games featuring exclusive Japan-only content that the American PS2 versions never had, on PS4, the 1.5 and 2.5 remixes which had been on PS3 are remastered AGAIN to run at a smooth 60FPS. This, combined with the super musical score overhauls, extra content, and graphical upscaling make this THE DEFINITIVE WAY to play Kingdom Hearts.

If you haven't touched any of the Kindom Hearts games in the past years, this is an excellent collection to pick up. It's 6 games in 1 and they have all received HD upgrades. Graphics are more crisp and they are running on 60fps. The downside is that some of the games suffered bugs and the 60fps upgrade causes some boss fights to be much more difficult than the original. The games were originally 30fps, afterall. Fortunately, Square Enix has been fixing those things via patches and hopefully they restore the games to its former glory. Overall, it's a great series to experience, especially if you're fond of Disney nostalgia.

So I was always a fan of Disney as a kid and have recently gotten into RPG games. I love Square Enix and think the FF Series is great. When I heard about KH I was like "I need this game". In preparation for KH III, I wanted to play the series from the beginning. The graphics are from a previous system but the story is amazing. And all those Disney characters and locales...... Man, this is a great series, I see why it was rated so highly.

For anyone revisiting or trying these games for the first time, this product comes with so many games that can give you so many hours of games if you complete most, not even all but just most, of the content, like well over 200 hours worth of game play. The story is great as well but can get a little confusing (especially if you only play them once over the span of 10+ years as they release).

Since I had already bought the two PS3 collections, I hadn't planned on double dipping on PS4. After watching footage, however, I quickly changed my mind. The framerate is even smoother than on PS3, similar to Dream Drop Distance in the 2.8 Collection, and it looks amazing. It's also much more convenient to have both PS3 collections on one disc and on the superior system.

This is a great way to catch up on one of the most unique and intriguing video game franchises ever produced. I haven't consistently been able to play these games overtime, but when I heard that this collection was being released, I had to have it. It's a great value. If you need to get caught up so your ready for KH3 when it's released, get this great collection.

Square Enix has crafted a stunningly brilliant remaster that extends into a new console generation as well as a new generation of gamer. The ability to play in Native 4K on the PS4 Pro is number one in an already packed list of features. When you team up a company with decades of RPG gameplay refinement and the charm of Disney’s brand, magic happens!
