Decent gameplay but annoying cut scenes

Gameplay is classic kingdom hearts, but the cut scenes are incredibly long, and you can't skip/shorten the dialog.

While I enjoyed the first two in the series, KH3 has been a very big disappointment for me. The game moves at a glacial pace riddled with long and uneventful cutscenes and repetitive combat.

My nephew loves this game, but it's a little too easy for his older sister (a teenager). He does struggle with some elements of the game, but I feel that's because he doesn't pay attention during cut scenes.

Good game that took too long to release. The graphics aren't amazing and there are many cutscenes.

It's about what I was expecting from a kh game. The characters bring back nostalgia and the gameplay is fun.

KH3 is a vibrant game with exciting worlds to explore. Combat is user friendly for beginners, only downside is complex plot and lengthy cut scenes.

I was excited for this game to come out, but once I started playing it I couldn't bear it. It looks great, but between the cutscenes being off (cause the audio comes in too late after they moved their mouth) and the gameplay/dialogue being super simplistic I couldn't play past the first world. I wanted this game to be great, but it just feels like Square and Disney pushed this product out for kids and not real gamers.

I am enjoying the game but I am dissapointed that every 3-5 battles there is a 5-10 minute cutscene trying to explain what is going on. Kingdom Hearts is trying to wrap a 17 year story stretched across multiple platforms, all that are canon in some way and it is incredibly hard to follow. I don't mind putting in effort to understand story but I never owned some of the systems the other games came out on so I have to try to fit large missing gaps with the included cutscenes, the "story so far" sections and keep my phone next to me constantly looking up whoever that guy is that just showed up.

Honestly, I understand why there might be a lot of cut scenes in the beginning to explain what has happened or catch people up but the cut scenes are slow and drawn out with pretty average voice acting. There are also far too many of them. I get to actually fight things for about 3 minutes tops and then there is a 10 minute cut scene. It's hard to keep interest and momentum in this game and I finally made it to the second world which is the actual start of the game (the first world was really slow prologue). Now, the gameplay itself is good and pretty straight forward hack and slash with a few techniques thrown in, but I never feel like I get to actually PLAY much because of the cut scenes. Just let me experience the story ffs. It's the difference between being told and shown. It's just one long movie at this point. Ugh.

This game is amazingly confusing, but I have only played KH1 and 2 previously. The acting is terrible and super slow, and cut scenes are very long. I do like the gameplay so far and the new worlds to see. I am excited to play it all of the way through!

What's with all these "games journalists" giving kingdom hearts 3 near perfect scores? The load screens are intolerably long and clunky, the voice acting is the worse in the series, it makes heavy use of cutscenes taken directly out of older games so it'll go from pretty current gen graphics to crap by today standards, there an early cut scene that gets cut off before a character is even done talking and goes to a load screen, the writing is atrocious, the worlds I've been to so far aren't so much cute and entertaining as cringe-worthy. They tried to cram every single mechanic used in every KH game into this one (minus card-based battle) plus stuck ten more new ones in for good measure so now the menu is way too complicated. It feels like there is way too much going on with no direction at all. It's like no one said "No" to any idea and as a result, they couldn't even finish the game after how many years in development and ended up rushing the first sort-of playable version out to retailers. Literally the only really good part of the game is the combat and exploration but they interrupt you every 5 steps with an awkward cutscene and when you are in combat, from the get-go, the game gives you almost unlimited access to special moves that kill most enemies immediately and make bosses super easy (just hit x for a while then hit triangle and done). It really hurts reviewers credibility when they give good reviews to something just because the box has the name of their favorite franchise on it. They did the same thing with Final Fantasy 13 and years later many of those reviews wrote post disavowing the score they gave it because they were blinded by fandom. This game is a 6, 8 if you want to be really generous, but I'm seeing more and more 9s and 10s. in a few years, the authors of those reviews will be correcting themselves.

The game is a great ending to the trilogy. The only real issue I have so far is the overuse of cutscenes. In the beginning of the game there's too many cuts in the action and it kind of takes you out of the flow. This is a big nitpick though because the rest of the game is great.

It's been many years since the 2nd one was out and talk of the 3rd one. I felt the game was a little short and that KH2 has more to do. There's a bit too many cutscene movies compared to more actual fight time. I'm just glad that the series is over and the story has finally been told.

Like many of you - I have waited a long long time to pick this game up and I'm very excited for it! It's got the same charm and great fighting system of the first two games with memorable worlds to play in as well. I will say, the story/dialogue is still confusing at times and has far too many lengthy cut scenes. But this did not keep me away from enjoying the game and still added to making it more of an experience with the familiar voice acting work. Great all around work and conclusion!

The title says it all. It isn't bad, but it isn't good. The game mechanics are fun, but become repetitive with no real challenge even in the hardest difficulty setting. The plot is a confusing nightmare of jumbled up nonsense. On top of that most of the cutscenes (that are 5-10 mins at times) are a scene for scene remakes of pixar/disney movies which is such a waste of time because they are animated like garbage. 3/5 buy at your own risk, die hard fans will enjoy it, but will question why it took so long to create this.

Our family loves the Kingdom Hearts series. We most especially loved KH 1, 2 and Birth By Sleep. This game takes a lot of the best parts of those games and combines it. The only warning is the cut scenes come often and are very long. And you can go way too long between opportunities to save if you want to play for shorter spurts at a time. But you can't play for much less than an hour at a time if you want to get anywhere with the game. The graphics are amazing, and the new worlds give some great interest. Love the way they finally brought the stories together. Still doesn't make full sense of it all, but a whole lot better. Loved when they finally get the Birth By Sleep characters back together since that has probably been our favorite.
