One of the best Kirby games in recent memory.

I played through the main story of this game in about a week. The challenge is quite low, but the puzzles will occasionally leave even the most experienced gamers scratching their heads from time to time -- especially completionists who need to collect everything. There are a few extra modes, but this review focuses on the main story and gameplay. Kirby is a bit of an anomaly. It's a formula that shouldn't work as well as it does, but here we are. If you're a Kirby fan, you probably already know what to expect, and I'm certain you'll enjoy this game. Just don't come in expecting anything too groundbreaking. It's simple, casual fun, and it's also an excellent choice for younger gamers or people who simply aren't as well-acquainted with the hobby. Super cute with tight controls, fun boss fights, and clever puzzles, I think most people can find something to love on Planet Robobot. Recommended, but if you've played Triple Deluxe or any of the Wii Kirby games, you should have an idea of what you're getting here. Also, the robots are super fun, and there's an Easter Egg ability that will appeal to fans of Nintendo's SSB (winky face goes here).

    Yet another great Kirby Game

As a Kirby fan, I had always wanted to get this game but got no opportunity. Now I've got this game and it feels as awesome. The game is quite different in terms of the environment settings, but I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of mechanized words--I enjoyed the fantasy style world of Triple Deluxe better. Maybe due to the similar mechanism of Triple Deluxe, gameplay time was comparatively short (100% the game in 19 hours, no amiibo used) for me, and the mini-games feel more like prototypical attempts for new styles (probably because I played Team Kirby Clash Deluxe before buying this game). Like I said, this game is quite different from many previous Kirby games, but it brings out the same awesomeness.

Its more Kirby, but not MORE Kirby.

I've played this game through about 5 world areas and 40~ stages that last about 3 minutes each. The problem with this game are as follows: It is the same as Triple Deluxe, literally half the game is a randomized collectathon of useless stickers like Triple Deluxe's keychains. The 3-4 hidden object collectibles per stage have also returned to unlock a brand new EX stages for each world area. They aren't noticeably better than, and are about the same length as the stages that preceded it. There aren't that many more powers either with most being consolidated versions of several similar powers in previous games to make single powers with multiple moves. The Robobot is also limited to certain lengths of a stage or sometimes forgone altogether. To add to this, the Robobot suit's use Kirby's inhale ability to absorb powers into itself, is able to do 1-2 with any certain power. You only end up using a few of the powers with it due to the simplistically linear level design that Kirby is known for. The game is best-looking handheld Kirby title to date. The boss fights are some of the most visually impressive, switching from an immobile 2d plane to a 3d rotating platform. The bosses with varied and multiple simultaneous attacks unlike any handheld Kirby games I've played. The music is music. The side games are fleshed out versions of Triple Deluxe's side games. Take em' or leave em'. Buy this game if you want more Kirby, not more from him.

    Fantastic!

Hands down, the best adventure game on 3DS right now. My son is 5 and played the mess out of this game for 2 weeks straight. Great gameplay. Most of the same powers are back and some new ones. My only gripe would be that I wish there were more new powers and less older ones. I've played about 3 Kirby games and they've been recycling the same powers for years. Being able to use mechs is what makes this game fun. The mech powers are not underpowered like most games. You can still get hurt but you can really do some damage. If you like adventure games, it doesn't get much better than this. Getting some cubes might be a little challenging at times for children, but the game is still a blast.

One of the best Kirby games, period.

I've played every Kirby game that's come out and fancy myself a bit of a Kirby snob. Triple Deluxe was fantastic and this game not only builds upon what TD did, but surpasses it, putting it deservedly in my top three for the entire series. Excellent stage design, fantastic music, great new powers, fun amiibo support (totally optional too!), cute visuals and an interesting story make this one great package. But if you're a fan of the series already, it's even moreso. There are callbacks in the form of secrets, songs, remixes and even bosses that will surprise you from Whispy Woods to the very final boss. I cannot recommend this game enough. Buy it.

    Fun Game!

Nintendo does it again with Kirby, but this time with a different spin! The Mech feature adds a unique element to the game play and makes it a little more challenging. The extra game modes are pretty fun and the amiibo feature is awesome! As a customer who ordered the game and the amiibos together, I can say that the amiibos added an extra fun level of gameplay with the cos-playing Kirby power ups! All in all this game was super fun and the story was pretty interesting too! If you like Kirby, then you will more than likely enjoy this game.

    Another Excellent Kirby Game

It's another 2-D side scrolling kirby game, so anyone who has played 'Return to Dreamland' or 'Triple Deluxe' would know just the kind of game they're getting into. While quite similar to TD in presentation, Planet Robobot takes already polished gameplay and sets it in an entirely new adventure with even more feature, like the Robo-armor. While on the easy side to beat, the game offers many secrets, optional boss fights and unlockable modes to challenge the hardcore gamer. As such, I would highly recommend Planet Robobot as a purchase.

Kirby Planet Robobot fresh to the end

Fun new enemy types as well as creative levels keep this entry into the series feeling fresh up to the very end. Sure to be a classic, the inclusion of the friendly robot makes every power-up feel that much more powered-up! While the series is known to be fairly easy, Robobot does offer collectibles and branching secret paths for an added challenge. A pleasant game for new-comers and kids alike. A must play for Kirby fans!

    Just Enough New

I have largely been growing tired of Kirby games since they don't change very much, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I felt like the addition of the mech gameplay helped things feel more fresh. I also thought the level of challenge went up a bit compared to previous titles, which is good in my opinion. It's about as different as it could be while still retaining the traditional Kirby gameplay. It's nice that they included a number of extra gameplay modes as well.

Fun kirby game with a nice twist

I've always loved the games in the kirby series and this one didn't let me down. The gameplay is similar to the others where you absorb abilites and use them to take down enemies and bosses. This game adds in mech suits which can also absorb abilities and create mass chaos in each level. The mechs are the best part of the game because it feels great to see how the abilites merge with the mech and how you can use them to destroy enemies and even solve puzzles

A lot of fun (if you like Kirby)

There's nothing revolutionary here. Bright, cheerful graphics make decent use of the 3D. Not too difficult (finding all of the code cubes is a decent challenge). A few extra modes to increase longevity. Overall, it's pretty much what you'd expect from a Kirby platformer, and a good sequel to Triple Deluxe. I feel like the stages are actually better constructed than average, making this one of the best platformers available on the system.

I played Triple Deluxe before this, and thoroughly enjoyed this one tons more! The gameplay and level designs are oozing with creativity, and the music is a lot of fun to listen to. The use of the 3D function is actually present and useful (unlike other 3DS titles). Don't expect a ton of difficulty from this title, but do expect a ton of fun. Highly recommend playing this if you enjoyed Triple Deluxe or other previous Kirby games.

    An excellent Kirby game

Absolutely fantastic! When I first heard about this game quite awhile ago, I wasn't quite sure what to think because this Kirby game seems completely crazy! When I read about the fact that Kirby could control these giants robobots, I thought maybe the developers were trying to mash it up with transformers or something and I am not the biggest michael bay transformers addict like millions of other hollywood viewers that eat up anything hollywood bid budget related. I am glad to be wrong that this Kirby game totally had me loving it after playing the first level! It was certainly better than the last handheld kirby game aka Triple Deluxe.

    A Delightful, Family-Friendly Little Game

    Posted .

Kirby: Planet Robobot might not be the pinnacle of the action-platformer genre, but make no mistake, it's a great little B-tier game to add to your 3DS collection. It's the kind of experience that both parents and children can enjoy, with a charm that's nearly impossible to resist. If you're the kind of person who's determined to collect everything, there are some levels that are frustratingly designed – you won't always be able to backtrack for a collectible, which means you'll have to replay the entire stage to get any you missed – but that's pretty much the worst thing I can say about this charmer. Give it a chance if it sounds like it's up your alley.

I have not played triple delux but from what I've heard, Robobot is similar but better. The game is fun and what you expect from a kirby game. ItsIt's not very difficult but it is very fun. The addition of the robot mechanic varies the game up quite a bit and will have you flying in the style of a shoot em up or driving back and forth across the background and foreground and solving puzzles. Definitely worth the buy.

The game is a little easier than other Kirby titles and the robot is really fun to use. My 8 year old son really loves this game and he was addicted to the game, beating it in a few days of play. Adding some interesting multi-player would make this game even better even story mode co-op would be a great addition. The final boss was a disappointment but other than that a great game for kids and adults.

I jumped into the series with Triple Deluxe and absolutely loved it. This game might even top it. The mech suit is incredibly fun and powerful to use. The level design is great and the different powers can really change it up. I found the story to be much better than Triple Deluxe and was laughing and engaged throughout.

Simplicity isn't always a bad thing and it's always been an endearing quality in this series amidst the sea of other games that require to wrack your brain around extensively complicated game mechanics. Kirby keeps it simple and this simplicity, along with great level design, tight controls and excellent sound make this a must-buy.

I played the game first to see if there the content had been rated properly and it was. My kid is not a gamer and the game was user friendly as well as fun yet challenging at the same time.I would definitely recommend this game for anyone who wants to avoid extreme violence and gore. The game keeps a smile on her face and that's exactly what a game should do.
