Kirby games in general have never been particularly difficult. I mean he can trivialize platforming just by flying! Star Allies makes you feel like a god then with the amount of powers that you can absorb.
In an odd little way Star Allies feels more like a beat-em up with how the levels flow. Kirby has strong move sets with many of the powers he can absorb. If you have ever played a fighting game before you'll feel right at home with his combos and special moves. Since Kirby can throw a star to make regular enemies and defeated mid-bosses into allies, it gives you a ton of firepower to take on anything. So a couple little enemies are no match for your squad even when the AI is in control of them (if you have three human friends controlling your team it's even easier). Even bosses have a tough time keeping up with how much damage you can dish out. Early boss fights are over in a flash and not until way late in the game did I need to use the dodge button to avoid attacks.
The simple puzzles are fun. You'll have to figure out which combination of enemy powers works to discover secrets and unlock doors. There's also really fun team transformations that really change the pace of the game. From flying shooting segments to rolling through the stage as a destructive wheel, all are fun to see and happen just the right amount of times.
But unfortunately the game is so easy that it's a breeze to get through. Amiibos can give you random power-ups to keep you going. Some allies can create health items for the whole team (and health can be shared by touching your teammates). And then there are enough pick-ups to keep your extra lives counter going up up up!
Outside the main game there are some special challenge modes but I didn't get a chance to play them yet. They may provide the difficulty I seek. Overall though, despite being easy, Kirby Star Allies is A LOT of fun. You'll feel unstoppable with a full crew of allies!

This is generally your typical Kirby game. The stand out features is the ability to have 4 players at once and you can combine powers to create new unique abilities. Every level has lots of collectables and secrets in true Kirby fashion. However this one tends to be a little shallow. Pretty much all puzzles have the required power ups in the exact same room and secret rooms aren't so secret.
Nonetheless the game is a blast to play and has plenty of content to keep you busy.

Excellent game for fans of platforming games, who want a beautiful colorful plaid back adventure. Most kirby games are known to be pretty easy and this is no exception. The game never really gets frustrating, making it perfect for people with short tempers or the younger audience. The ability to make friends with your enemies and have yourself along with 3 enemies or friends playing along is great.

I've brought out this game from time to time to play with younger children (7 to 12 year olds). The gameplay is very simple and quite forgiving with it being a cooperative 1-4 players. Simple platforming but it's to be expected with a Kirby series game. If you're looking for more difficulty this game might not be for you though. Still fun nevertheless if you aren't looking for a tedious challenge.

I've always loved this little pink puff, ever since the GameBoy version. This one on the Switch looks and plays amazing. The abilities and having friends is especially cool. Some complain this game is a little easy. Maybe it is compared to some things, but that's ok because sometimes I just want to have fun rather than being frustrated. If you like Kirby, there's no way you'll dislike this one.

The game is overall very good. However, it being a Kirby game there isn't much story or substance, and the game is very easy. The biggest issue though is on the gimmick. The last few kirby games had fun and interesting gimmicks. This time, while having a party of characters of varying enemies and elements is fun and interesting, the puzzles are all very easy and it's very easy to lose Kirby in the action during a boss battle or "enemy room" (where enemies continue to spawn for a while).

Overall, this Kirby game gives tribute to the original Kirby series without sacrificing too much while adding new features/games/abilities.
The friend feature which I can only attest to playing solo thus far, as you can play with other people and they take control of the other characters, is overall great as they are helpful and essential to moving along the story line, these friends act on their own and perform own attacks which you as Kirby may want to do yourself. My suggestion for this is to make less friends or no friends in the game! Still, the combo abilities of having those friends is a new and fun feature that is definitely welcomed in this game. I've finished roughly half the game and though the game isn't particularly long, it is worth the entertainment and nostalgia you may gotten from previous Kirby iterations.
One thing that is different from those previous Kirby iterations is that you usually fly with Kirby into many different secret nooks and areas usually above many areas and that does not seem to be present in Star Allies. The story line is quite linear in stages and there aren't too many areas where you can "explore" and find secret areas. which I will say is what made previous version more fun. Still, great game that you can mindlessly play without requiring full focus and still greatly enjoy!

The game has an interesting story, decent graphics details and easy simple controls! It is also a great game to enjoy on one's free time. It does not require friends or families to work together, so will be a good choice when one wants to be alone. If one does not good at play game, this game is perfect for him/her because it is relaxing and you don't have to compete with others.

Great little game for younger audiences. The game is quite short (my playtime was about 7 hours). The game never gets difficult, so if you are looking for a challenging experience, this is likely not the game for you. The game is intended and designed for a multiplayer audience, however it can still be a good bit of fun playing through the adventure solo.

I like getting to build my team and teaming up with enemies to battle other enemies. I am having fun working towards 100% completion. Not the most challenging game I have played but very enjoyable, cute and fun to play. It looks like Kirby kisses his teammates to give them life- it is the cutest ever and makes me laugh!

This Kirby game is a great game especially after all the free content they added to it. It is old school Kirby with out a huge gimmick and it just looks stunning. It’s a bit easy but what do you expect from Kirby. He is the strongest video game character after all. It’s Fun to play with the kids too.

Great game to play with friends and family. The game isn’t all that hard, but has a lot of fun abilities to team up with. Playing it with my 8 year old daughter. she’s had some trouble, but nothing major at all. If you want some nice relaxing local multiplayer with pleasing graphics and good gameplay then I’d suggest picking this up

As a long time fan of Kirby since the first release for Gameboy Kirby’s Adventure the series has had some up and down moments much like Sonic. This time much like Sonic the great Kirby rises from the ashes puts out a top tier switch game early in the systems life cycle. Fans will not be disappointed and new players will find it easy to jump in and play.

I found Kirby star allies to be a blast to play through with my friends, the game isn't too challenging, but playing with all sorts of different combinations and partner characters was a blast. My main gripe with the game is how unbelievably short I felt the experience was. If the story was double the length, it would have been just right in my opinion. The game is still a blast, just not worth the full price tag.

Always been a fan of Kirby since the NES version. While they are easy games to complete, it's the challenges where the bulk of the fun is at. This game has been a blast. The day I received it I played nearly half of the story. So much fun! More than one player is just exceptional. Definitely an awesome addition to the Switch library.

Very short game but reviewing this based on quality vs quantity of time and it's still a solid Kirby experience. The graphics on the switch are vibrant, colorful, and you'll experience some new Kirby abilities. More fun playing with friends. Unfortunately the difficulty is not very challenging so it's a good game for young children but nonetheless another solid title for the switch.

This game is a lot of fun to play and just enjoy with a group of friends or while you’re alone. I just love how the game plays and how cute the little characters are too! It’s a blast to play and it’s a joy to play with friends. Plus it’s awsome since you can combo special abilities with all your friends!

Kirby Star Allies is a simple kirby game so don't expect too many challenges. Star Allies is best enjoyed with 4 different people. Unless you like to play with AI. Kirby Star Allies is a short and sweet game but that is just the Story mode. Star Allies has simple minigames. Overall Kirby Star Allies is a game which will give you excellent 4 player experience.
