A great entry in the Kirby series!

Like most Kirby games, Kirby Triple Deluxe starts off very easy but becomes a nice challenge by the end. The story is simplistic like most Kirby games, but the levels themselves are colorful and have a variety of traditional themes (grasslands, volcanoes, etc.), and the music that accompanies them is quite catchy. Unfortunately, I hardly played the game with the 3DS's 3D effected turned on. That said, it simply provides a visual flare and nothing more. Kirby himself has access to a variety of copy abilities, some useful, some not. For example, I hardly found a use for new Bell or Circus abilities, while the new Archer and Beetle abilities felt very satisfying to use. Some of the returning abilities have lost their useful maneuvers, such as Needle's Rolling Needle attack and Ice's Ice Ball attack. However, other returning abilities, such as Parasol and Sword, remain as great as ever. Besides the story mode, there are the two sub-games, Dedede's Drumdash and Kirby Fighters. Dedede's Drumdash is a short and challenging rhythm action game will fill the player with satisfaction upon completion. Kirby Fighters is a Super Smash Brothers-like fighting game featuring select abilities from the main game. Although I was unable to experimence the multiplayer mode, which is offline only, the sub-game can be entertaining alone, especially on higher difficulties. Of course, like all recent Kirby games, there are extra game modes to unlock after completing the story mode. Alongside these extra game modes are collectable Keychains, which feature sprites from almost every Kirby game. A nice distraction, they can be found scattered throughout levels or obtained by trading in 3 Play Coins. Overall, Kirby Triple Deluxe is a great addition to the Kirby series as well as the 3DS library of games. It's the Kirby that you know and love with the extra spices to keep things fresh and entertaining.

    A Deluxe Package

Kirby has always had a beautiful and unique artstyle that has resonated with fans since he first debuted. His platforming has always been made unique due to the fact he can absorb his enemies and take on new abilities when doing so. This game continues that trend while adding new mechanics such as the Hypernova, which will devour just about anything in Kirby's path. The platforming is fantastic and the level design is extremely well done, especially with the use of 3D which helps these levels give more depth which is extremely useful considering Kirby can go to the foreground and the background of a level quite frequently. It's a fun little title, though not long, and will definitely quench the thirst for anyone looking for a great Kirby game. Though the levels themselves are extremely easy, the boss fights do present a challenge from time to time but are so cleverly done you can't help but appreciate the design behind everything. What else do you really expect from a Nintendo title, though? Design is never an issue with them. They deliver quality products time and time again, and this is no different.

Great game to a loving franchise!

The game is fun and exciting! Having played every other Kirby title, I can say this game fills up my time when traveling. The gameplay feels familiar to older Kirby titles, but adds an extra twist. Sometimes you are given a special item which reminds you of the star in Super Mario Bros. games but this one can help you reveal secrets as Kirby eats away everything in his path. There's stamps to collect which offers extra playability in case you missed some. Although the game is fun, the game is extremely easy as it is difficult to get a game over. I have recommended this game not only because of the story but because of the mini games you can enjoy for hours once done with Kirby's adventure.

    Tried and true Kirby

    |
    Posted .

To be honest, I find there's very little to say about this title that can't be written short and sweet. Kirby is a side scrolling platformer, akin to Super Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man. Kirby differentiates himself from the others with his own special powers to be able inhale enemies and copy their abilities and float around like a balloon in addition to stand jump actions. If you've played Kirby, you know what to expect. The controls are tight, the gameplay is fun, but the game is a bit short in terms of length and the difficult heirs on the side of being slightly easy. It's enjoyable sure, and doesn't feel repetitive, but the game might not last you as along as epic adventures like The Legend of Zelda which will take several more hours to complete

    The best Pokemon in years

    |
    Posted .

The best Pokemon I've played since red and yellow. The family pet, the group of half a dozen friends (Red/Ash was kind of a loner, wasn't he?) and the small town feel of the first area really make you feel like you're a part of something larger. Wonderful, fully animated graphics, interesting cities, and fantastic camera angles really combine to make this a gorgeous Pokemon game. The story and gameplay are basically the same as always, but the scaling, rotations, and unique camera really make the game feel more like Pokemon Skyrim than just another overhead RPG. I recommend it for anyone.

    Best Kirby in a While

While I have yet to finish the game, so far I am really enjoying this Kirby title; Mass Attack didn't do it for me, and I think that was the last Kirby game we've received before this. If you've played just about any Kirby title, this will be very easy to pick up and play. I love the Streetpass integration that lets you collect keychains. I don't think there are really any benefits to getting them, but it's a nice distraction and gives you incentive to play the game even more.

I picked up this game on a whim because i haven't touched my 3ds xl in so long and said man i need something new to play on that baby. WOW it was like me playing with my 3ds again for the first time. I was instantly sucked into this game. Its got fun quirky modes and gameplay. You suck in enemies and get their powers(sword, beetle head etc.) Overall you pick up this game you definitely wont be dissapointed.

    Kirby is Back

I've always been a fan of Kirby games starting with Kirby's Adventure for the NES, Triple Deluxe brings back most of the old school elements that you love from the franchise. Its not an overly hard Platformer, but it gives you just enough of a challenge while giving you an array of vibrant colors for each level. Great game, its a shame it took me so long to purchase it

    Great looking game!

Hello all Kirby fans! If you already love the little pink hero, this is a game you are probably going to want for your collection. There is a lot of gameplay reminiscent of Kirby Superstar for the SNES as well as the old school Kirby's Dreamland 2. The game is real gimmicky in using the 3DS's gyro tilts. Definitely a neat game to play to pass the time!

    Another good Kirby Game

    |
    Posted .

This Kirby game is a fun altho short enjoyable ride! The graphics are nice and the collecting keychains is also fun as it brings up nostalgia from previous games! The one bad thing is its really easy and only a couple stages really are hard and the fact that your lives and items aren't saved when you turn off the system shows how you don't need lives to beat the game! So if you get 30 lives and decide to stop-you will start at the default lives once booted up! Its a fun ride while it last but it be great if they finally made a Kirby game with a higher difficult!!

Its amazing because the new 3D feature.

I like that they introduced the new ability hyper nova. I enjoyed the vibrant artwork presented in the game and the game play feature did not feel tacked on but well developed. I love how the rare keychains are so well hidden and the luck factor of the normal keychains. The control were spot on and there was a lot of replay value in the game. I love how the bosses all use 3D background. However, I wish that there was an option not to use gyro control.

    Great game for kids

I got this for my 3.5 year old who loves playing his DS. I was looking for something new to challenge him. He loves all of the Nintendo characters and Kirby was the latest he was introduced to. He jumped right in and started figuring out all of the puzzles and Kirby powers on his own. The difficulty is great for his skill level as the game itself is fairly simple. Adults may get bored quickly, but kids will really enjoy it.

I pre-ordered this game for my 4 yr old after I saw a demo on the web. He liked the other Kirby games, but he loves this one. It has great graphics and audio, and since it's on the 3DS, he takes it everywhere. Plenty of collectibles that keeps him busy, too.

Totally worth it; Kirby does it again!

My wife and I are huge Kirby fans and we have been waiting for the release of this game for quite a while. While its a bit easier to play that Return to Dreamland for the Wii, it will not disappoint. Even after beating the game, there are tons of extra features to unlock and enjoy. This game will keep any Nintendo or Kirby fan wanting more. Definitely a must if you have kids and want a family friendly game!

    A Necessity

    |
    Posted .

Since the game system only comes equipped with one controller, an additional controller is a necessity--not for additional players because he ignores his little brother protests over not being able to play. The controller is often misplaced or the battery pack is laying somewhere. Yessirre! It's the biggest consumer of batteries in the house! Rechargeable are a joke.

    A wonderful Kirby game

Kirby games are rarely super challenging and this one is no different. It's not super hard but it's extremely charming and cute. The 3D effect in the game is also really incredible and there are a lot of cool visual effects. A must buy Kirby game if you like some well paced and very charming platforming.

    Fun game for all ages

Kirby Triple Deluxe is a great addition to any 3DS collection. The different collectible items in the game make you want to explore the levels thoroughly so you can collect them all. Also, the in game menu has detailed information regarding the enemy ability you are using as well as the move list. I miss the other mini games from Kirby Super Star Ultra. The King Dede mini game is not too fun, but the Kirby fighter mini game is like a lite- Super Smash Bros. clone.

May be the best classic Kirby game

    |
    Posted .

I've played just about all the classic platformer Kirby games, and this one outshines them all. It's impossible to play this game without a smile on your face. HAL's still got it. P.S. The sub-game Kirby Fighters is a fantastic game to play with other 3DS-owning friends, even if they don't have Triple Deluxe! Think Smash Bros. Light. Very nice addition!

Nice visuals but a little too easy at times.

    |
    Posted .

This is a fine addition to the growing library of Nintendo 3DS games however the game is a little too easy at times. There are a lot of powers but you don't feel the need to use any specific one since they are all similar in strength. The included smash bros style fighting game is a nice feature but it loses it's charm after you beat the final boss.

    Kirby!

It's Kirby like you have never seen him before, popping out into your eyeballs! It's awesome! He is sucking up everything into his gigantic mouth and spitting it out all over your face in 3D! What more could you ever want in life? Answer: Nothing! Buy multiple copies and hand them out to random people in the street. Let's start a revolution!
