It was either customize our cabinets or buy this smaller microwave. Full sized microwave was too low over our stove. We love the sleek design and it's performance.

Sleek and nice. this is an expensive microwave but looks great. Only comparison would be the Whirlpool but doesn't look as good.

I was glad I finally got rid of the old microwave oven on the kitchen counter. I love everything about it, especially the size of this KA OTR microwave. It’s perfect where I want it to be - above the stove and underneath the cupboard. The space is bigger than the old microwave so I can now reheat food on my larger plates. I have replaced my gas stove/oven, dishwasher and refrigerator at different times and was glad KA had them all available in black stainless steel.

My husband talked me in to this one but it’s well worth it. Bright stove light, works well and looks sharp.

I thought this was going to be a regret with how little space it appears to have, but honestly, I love how it looks in the kitchen and I don't miss the extra "head room" for my coffee. I haven't had any issue with the height of the interior and I love that I have more of my beautiful backsplash showing. I could do without the constant beeping. I think more companies need to employ a microwave notification that only beeps once or until you open the door. Once I open it, I don't need to keep being beeped at as if I'm leaving my food unattended too long.

Fits great. It is much better than the full size since this is over a range. Looks great also.

This KitchenAid-1.1 Cu.Ft. Over-the-range Microwave is great. Cleans easy. Light the light it has especially when using stove to cook. Lights us cooking burners easier to see when cooking on stove. It also has selection that you can turn on at night so you don't have to leave overhead kitchen light on in the evening or can be left on like a night light. All timer & setting control buttons are behind door so not showing on outside looks cleaner that way. The only controls on outside are Open, Cancel & Start

These microwaves work flawlessly. Bought one about five years and the second a few months ago. Best microwave I’ve ever owned.

I have never liked over the stove microwaves because of how ungainly they looked and for how poorly the exhaust fans function. This Kitchen Aid solved both those issues. Proportionately, it visually fits this space. Functionally, it does everything that I ask of a Microwave. The 500cfm fan does it job. It's not silent when running but it's far and above more powerful and quieter than any that I've used.

Pros: Fits perfectly under my cabinet. Does it’s job. Cons: Light is not very bright and you have to keep pressing the button to get to the off position instead of press and hold to turn off. Fan is very loud and has the same power off steps as the light. Suction is okay, better on the back burners. Hard to clean the stainless steel.

We switched from an electric range to gas and wanted a more space than the traditional OTR microwave gave us. So we compromised on this sleek and slim Kitchen Aid. So far we haven’t missed the size of the old one. Plus it looks great! I also like that it didn’t have any of Kitchen Aid’s normal red dots or oversized handles. The fan is super powerful and we love the LED lights. We paired it with a Samsung convection oven.

Perfect size and match for my decor. Quiet and efficient.

We purchased the slim model to go over the range and are definitely happy with the extra space over the cooking area. Microwave is fancier than what we've had before and looks great. I wouldn't call the stainless steel finish finger print proof though. It's easy to clean but you can see fingerprints. We would have purchased the Whirlpool model since they are the same mfg'er but bought the Kitchen Aid because it was on sale and for the name.
