Awesome! Has saved so many trips to the garbage bin outside. Not as quiet as I thought it would be but it is still very acceptable. Advice: When buying a trash compactor--don't go cheap. Highly recommend this Kitchen Aid

Easy to install, dimensions were right on so it fit great, quiet compacting, I went from taking the garbage out daily to once a week now. Totally worth it!

This is a beautiful stainless steel compactor. It has a fan and charcoal filter to reduce odor. It also opens from the side making it much easier to pull the bag out especially when it’s heavy. All controls except foot pedal is located inside the unit making it more difficult for children to play with it. My 3 year old grandson loved to push the compactor button on the old one. He thinks this one just doesn’t work. It’s a great compactor with a sleek look. We love it!

I replaced my old kitchenaid compactor again, 3rd one in 16 years. This time there were changes, the solid compact switch was moved from the outside to inside (good choice makes it cleaner looking), start switch was moved from a key outside to a foot pedal also good choice but the solid compact is not as powerful as before. It has trouble crushing a soda can but, most of the competition is the same. Still the best of a weak group. Not sure it's worth the price any more.

Not worth the money but neither are all the other trash compactors I checked out. Hoping to experience longer life with this compactor based on reputation and seemingly better made. Only time will tell which is why this review is premature.

We replaced our other brand compactor with this KitchenAid because it kept failing. This model is the top of their model range and has two features that we didn’t have before. The first is a fan and filter system to control the odors that can develop. And the best feature is that the foot can be controlled to press down on the trash and not return upwards until you request it to. This feature compacts the trash with full pressure and forms it to stay compacted allowing for more trash to be inserted. A great feature that you're sure to like.

I bought the compactor to replace my old one. The old one had a problem with the foot lever to open it. The metal ripped completely through the hinge making it impossible to fix. This Kitchenaid has the same style of foot pedal but the metal is much better. Compactors are overpriced!

We've been in this home for six years and during the renovation from antiquated white appliances to stainless steel, we got rid of the white trash can that had to be emptied every two days and replaced it with a new stainless steel trash compactor that we only have to replace the bag approximately every two weeks, if needed. Very nice looking in the kitchen, and well worth the money.

Compactor fits ideally under the already built cabinets. Machine is well balanced and does a terrific job of allowing a large amount of garbage to be in a much smaller bag.

This unit looks great and it’s replacing an older KitchenAid unit I have because I’m remodeling my kitchen. The last one I have was trouble free and hope to get the same experience with this unit. The unit looks great and appears to be well constructed.

This compactor is excellent! This is a newer version of one we have had for years. Although the price is a bit higher than others I have found that it works really well. Easy to install. I highly recommend this!

2 Stars because the foot pedal to open the compactor door broke within 5 minutes. It was repaired and broke again. Everyone who tries to use it gets frustrated because it’s nearly impossible to open unless you have just the right foot technique to open the compactor door. My parents bought the same model and have the exact same issue. They just don’t close theirs. Mine was panel ready and a custom panel was put in, and theirs was a standard door that came with it. Both have the exact same problem, meaning the custom panel isn’t the cause.

We remodeled our kitchen and purchased this Kitchen Aid compactor. This replaced our existing one which was over 25 years old and still functioning. They have improved it and it works great!
