    Attractive Microwave but Pricey

I bought this to replace a 13-year-old KitchenAid Architect Series microwave. This one is quieter and very attractive. You're paying for the way it looks! I'm certain there are other comparable microwaves that are several hundred dollars cheaper. Although I measured before purchasing, the microwave doesn't quite fit the custom trim kit I used with the previous one. I will have to order a new trim kit. I recommend going with a trim kit company instead of the KitchenAid trim kit, which is more expensive and seems to have limited venting.

I was replacing a Kitchenaid microwave oven that I had been very happy with. I did a lot of research particularly on the size of the oven on the Best Buy website and in talking to Kitchenaid customer service since this oven would be a special order.. After all this work, when the oven arrived, the measurements printed in the literature were incorrect and a half inch off, so the oven would not fit in my cabinet. The oven may be great, but it would not work for me. Very disappointed that manufacturer's measurements were not accurate.

Used an installer recommended by Pacific Sales. Had some initial cosmetic issues due to rushed installation, but corrected the next day when we told him that we were going to escalate to Pacific Sales. Had microwave 2 weeks and now starting to get condensation 'inside' the glass door. KitchenAid says that this isn't normal so now we have to have someone come back out to take a look. On the plus side, it's very quiet, not like our 1998 JennAir that we just replaced.

I updated my kitchen with KitchenAid appliances, this was basically my only option for a microwave. It is beautiful but I replaced a GE that had far more better features, also my GE NEVER burnt my popcorn with the popcorn button (has sensor) and this one burned my popcorn using the popcorn button! I guess does not have sensor. REALLY NOT Happy with this, also my GE had the first 6 numbers as short cut options and this one doesn't. Highly considering returning it. :(

Bought this countertop microwave in December of 2013 for $415.00. On Mar. 23 of 2016 (2 years 2 months)the door handle broke, wouldn't allow the door to open and microwave kept running after the timer hit zero. They NEVER made parts for this model (except for drive cog and feet)!!! DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! My recommendation would be to buy the cheapest one on the market because NONE of them last!!!!!!!

KitchenAid recommended this model as a replacement for the original microwave in our home, which fried after six years of steady use. The rest of our kitchen appliances are KitchenAid and we wanted to maintain the uniformity. This is a good sized unit that cooks well. It is much quieter than some we tested. However, it is relatively expensive. Several other brands seemed to offer more features for the same or less cost.

This unit replaced a similar Kitchenaid that was only four and a half years old. I hope this one lasts longer. It is much quieter when operating and the new buttons for potato and pizza are great! I had to do a little jury rigging to get it to fit wth the old trim kit but it was worth it. It is 1.6 cu ft, slightly bigger than the old one. I love it!

Replaced 16 year old KitchenAid with this newer model. The new unit isn't near the quality of the original. Unfortunately, the space was designed specifically for this size microwave, so I had little choice. I don't think I'll get 16 years out of this one... And...I cannot figure out how to dim the clock. It is so bright it lights up the room.

I would not recommend this product. It stopped working after only two years. I spent more money on it because of the name. The oven did have some convenient features and it held full size dishes. I really liked it while it worked. Unfortunately the product does not last and the repair man said it wasn't worth fixing. He recommended another brand.

Maybe a good boat anchor--not as a microwave

We bought our in October 2013. Our first one died in July 2014 while still under warranty. After a bureaucratic nightmare of trying to get Whirlpool to honor their warranty, we finally got a replacement in September. Now its February 2016 and the replacement just died.

We purchased this KitchenAid microwave to replace an obsolete KitchenAid. The quality of this new one is not as high quality of the original (the door is a little clunky and the microwave is noisier. However, the microwave looks great and it fits into the old microwave trim kit with a little modification.

We have always been happy with KitchenAid appliances until now. The microwave looked great but did not work. We also didn't like the touchpad. Returned it and purchased a GE for less than half the cost.

I like the large interior, which makes it easy to cook larger items. It cooks very accurately and the power levels are very good. I would recommend this microwave to others. It is very quiet to use.

My previous microwave was also a Kitchen aid and lasted almost 15 years. I am glad I could still find the replacement model for my previous one. Long lasting quality with Kitchen Aid products.

We had a Frigidare unit before that was about the same specs. The KitchenAid is FAR quieter. This is a nice microwave, compact yet powerful. Trim kit worked well to give it a nice look in our cabinet.

We needed a microwave to fit into a particular cabinet, and this one was close in size to our prior one. Works well so far, stainless steel is of good quality, only have had it two months.

Great microwave. Doesn’t do anything special and the numbers wear pretty quick but the microwave itself works great.

Black button on stainless body helps reduce some common smudge prone spots. Very quite when running. Nice power despite smaller size.
