    Convection Oven/Microwave Combo

I was really excited to get my convection oven as it should take less time to cook with and have a more even result. I've used it for a while now and everything is under-cooked even while using the factory settings. It is a little hard to use at first but after a few times you get used to it. My family loves the microwave portion as our old microwave quit after 15 years. They say this microwave is super fast. I wouldn't know as I do not use the microwave setting. Over all it is a nice piece of equipment just doesn't deliver the quality cooking experience I'd expected. It was easy to install but be careful, before you install it turn the fan to work for the type of exhaust outlet you have, we had to take it back down once because we missed this step.

Now, I do have to qualify my title in that I purchased this particular microwave as an open box, marked down to $339.00. That price for a convection microwave seemed to go to be true. The unit had a small ding along one of the edges, and the manufacturer's warranty doesn't cover cosmetic defects. You actually can't see the ding when the unit is hung below a cabinet so I was fine with what was essentially 50% off retail. The microwave includes the necessary bracket to hang it on the wall as well as all the needed hardware. If you are installing this yourself, you will definitely benefit from an assistant. The weight is substantial, and trying to hold the unit in place and screw it in simultaneously would be difficult to say the least. On to performance. The unit does all the things you need a microwave to do. The popcorn, reheat settings seems to work very well. The dinner plate reheat function is great! It sense when your meal is reheated properly and shuts itself off. I've had awesome results with that feature so far. You can also use the convection functions for baking if you don't want to heat up the whole house with the oven. Like most units it can be configured to use the charcoal recirculating filter or blow exhaust out the back. The build quality seems solid and I have had zero issues with the unit so far. A minor annoyances exist, such as a program remaining up after it completes force a push of the clear button to get back to the main menu. Most other microwaves I've used drop back to the main menu automatically. It also oscillates the fan speed up and down quite a bit as it is using the sense functions, but that is really just a minor complaint. So there you have it, and excellent microwave that can reheat dinner and bake cookies. Whether it performs better than other models at the retail price of $600 I cannot speak too, but know that if you purchase this unit, it does what it says.

Pretty skeptical at first if price was worth the look especially since there was not one in stock for me to look at. The look is extra shiny which is not what I wanted because the matching stove is less shiny (more subdued). Overall the features are worth the extra cost. The convection feature works well. Install was done by a professional and he didn't seem to have any issues with it. The delivery went smoothly and they were kind enough to allow me to inspect the microwave prior to them leaving my home. The teenagers and I are in and out of this microwave constantly and I really feel like the microwave will hold up to a busy kitchen

We ordered this model to replace a GE profile over the range micro that had experienced electronic panel failure. We have not tried the convection mode as yet but wanted it to supplement our regular oven during large dinners and special occasions. The unit was surprisingly easy to install. After drilling two new holes in the cabinet above, my son and I were able to lift it into place. It snapped right on to the supplied bracket and then we only needed to attach the screws. All in all, we are very pleased. The only negative is the key panel is not well lit and some of the function keys are a bit confusing.

If you are not a cook and don't enjoy cooking for guests this is more microwave than you need. We like the extra oven space when cooking for large groups or items taking longer cooking times. We use all the amenities on the microwave. If you heat up meals and make popcorn this microwave is overkill.

This is our second KitchenAid micro, we had one in our other home. Though our other model was Model#: KHHC2090SSS. We picked the current model because it had some of the same features as the other model. So far this unit has performed perfectly. It is very quiet when the fan is on, we have it vented through the roof, so that may help with noise. The only thing that I would change would be the location of the emblem on the door. The emblem is centered to the door and not with the entire unit, so when it's mounted under a cabinet the emblem is off center... Other than that we like this unit. My wife misses her original KitchenAid micro but this one is a close second.

We purchased this microwave to replace our Maytag model that quit working. I thought that one was just fine, until I got this KitchenAid. It's quieter, seems to not use as much power, but heats things so much more evenly and without burning the ends and edges of the food. It's also a great looking appliance. We've only had it for about a month, so here's hoping it lasts a long time, especially given its price point.

I originally wanted a double oven but we went with a standard oven and this micro/convection combo. It works great! I've made cookies and pizza using the oven and they came out great and the microwave works nicely. It is easy to use, displaying instructions as you go so your setting is just right for the "job" you are doing. I am very pleased with this purchase!

I could not believe that I was going to spend this much on a microwave, but with the convection feature and the KitchenAid name, I thought it was a decent investment. First, the microwave and convection features are great. The unit is a nice unit and works wonderfully out of the box. I love being able to use it as an oven and not heat up the entire kitchen. The issue started 1 year 4 months after the purchase. The convection feature still works, but the microwave stopped heating until 1 minute passes. For example we would heat our son's milk for 25 seconds, now we have to do 1:25. At one minute it sounds like the magnetron finally kicks in and starts to heat. Exactly 1 minute each time. I emailed Kitchen Aid and they called me back three days later. It was by far one of the worst customer service calls I have ever experienced. The lady was rude and completely did not care. Her suggestion was turn off the breaker for 10 minutes. If that did not work, then I would have to call service. I explained that this is a $600+ microwave and 16 months for it to stop working is crazy. She didn't say anything. I truly feel it is the magnetron and asked if they would just ship me that and I would replace it. She said the parts were not covered anymore. Understand fully, you are only getting a 12 month warranty. It was my own fault for not buying an extended warranty as I obviously misread the 5 year warranty part. I explained to her that I would never buy another KitchenAid product again, to which she simply replied "Is there anything else". I contacted BestBuy and they are coming out to service it at the tune of $100 service charge plus parts, which I estimate to be $75. I can promise you this will be my last KitchenAid/BestBuy Online purchase. When you drop this kind of money on an appliance, stick with someone local who can service your product or at least steer you in the right direction. If you do buy the product, make sure to get an extended warranty as I have a feeling you will need it.

Overall, great microwave. Family of 6 use it daily. Easy to operate and clean. Not much more to say about the microwaving functions, but I'm disappointed with the convection feature. Tried baking rolls and cupcakes and the tops burned while the bottom was still doughy. Cooking frozen foods (waffles, fries, nuggets, etc.), though, seem to do fine. As long as the food stays in the center of the oven and does not "rise", it will cook great. Fan does automatically come on if the oven gets too hot, and it is a little noisy, and cannot be turned off.

The microwave has tons of features, all of which work great. After over a year of use, I only have one complaint. The fan is obnoxiously loud even when only heating things in the oven. Because of the noise, I cannot recommend it (unless you are deaf, then buy it).

I've never used a convection oven before, so I had no idea it would be so noisy. I'm trying to go "ovenless" and this was my choice to replace a big oven. I'm not so sure I'll be able to live with the noise every time I cook something.
