This is as ideal as it can be. Efficient, compact, versatile, and powerful. Everything a cook needs; made by KitchenAid it is no surprise! A gem made by the top of the line in my honest opinion.

Does a good job chopping, dicing, etc. food for meal preparation. I really like the compact storage tray that allows you to fit all the attachments together with the processor.

Kitchenaid products rule! Every single Kitchenaid product that I have ever owned has stood the test of time and far outlived their warranties. I'm confident that this food processor will be no exception. Sleek, stylish, modern, quiet, and smartly engineered,
In the amount of time that I have my food processor, I have prepared some hummus, homemade peanut and almond butter, and the dough for my very yummy sour dough bread. Simple, easy, fast and a breeze to prepare all of these.
This appliance has a very powerful motor which easily rose to the task of preparing these recipes and it was all done with a minimum amount of noise. This appliance is really quiet when used and there was no noticeable bog down.
The feeding tube is of pretty good size, although I still needed to cut some veggies down to size in order to properly feed them. The 13-cup bowl is nice and roomy and allows for the preparation of larger amounts of foods according to your needs. The large capacity bowl is great.
There are several features which I really enjoy, one being is the adjustable slice disc and the bowl storage capability for all of the blades. The adjustable thickness of slicing items is really nice, and to be quite honest I have never had this feature on a food processor before.
A word on clean up. Easy! Cleanup was dependent upon the types of ingredients used. If they were more on the sticky side, fully disassembling the appliance and washing was in order. If the ingredients were veggies (which tend to be less sticky), all I did was add a few drops of dish washing liquid and started the unit. It's that easy.
My household is thoroughly enjoying this food processor. It has enough space for my larger recipes, clean up is easy and the overall quality is great. I love this product.

It is big. Bigger than your blender. Comes with many high quality tools. Used it twice in a day and very happy with build quality and functionality. Powerful.

Food processors are a must have for home cooks. I love to cook but my kitchen is on the small side. I am a big fan of simplifying the kitchen so the more uses that an appliance, the fewer you need. That being said, a 13 cup food processor is definitely going to take a fair amount of kitchen real estate. So how is the KitchenAid food processor?
In terms of performance, it does very well. It chops well. It shreds like a beast. No more hassles with shrettuce. I like the slicing function. It has made life SO much easier for me. However, it is sometimes inconsistent in thickness and size. Enough that it was noticeable. In addition, the processor will not work unless the chute depressor is inserted. As a result, you have to prechop the bigger vegetable or whatever you are slicing so that it fits in the chute. This can be inconvenient. One thing to note is that this version does not come with a dicing kit but you can buy it separately.
Now for the design. One downside of bigger size is that ingredients will often spread to the sides and edges and you have to scrape often. In addition, trying to get food stuck on the lid between the chute and the side is really annoying. I wonder if they just couldn't have made the chute flush with the edge. Otherwise, cleaning is still fairly easy and the parts are dishwasher safe. I love the storage caddy that allows you to store everything inside the food processor.
All in all, I like the KitchenAid 13 cup food processor. It's got some things that I think are worth nitpicking, but otherwise I think is a good find for any home kitchen.

Well packaged and simple to unpackage completely.
The storage caddy is nice suitable place for keeping the accessories, and the storage caddy stores nicely inside the 13-Cup (3.1 L) Work Bowl. Great for storage and keeping the accessories together and organized.
The KitchenAid Food Processor KFP1318 is tall and will not slide under our cabinets. This is not important to us as we do not have a lot of cabinet top space to store these appliances on. If someone chose to keep the unit on their cabinet, they may need to remove the lid or better yet remove the bowl, with all the attachments inside the bowl, and set it to the side of the base.
First, wash all the parts, per instructions. I washed all the washable parts (which is everything with obvious exception of the base) in the dishwasher on the normal cycle. I believe in the future it would be best to hand wash the accessories and dry them thoroughly.
The KitchenAid Food Processor KFP1318 is well designed with the user in mind. Easy to use, change out accessories, and clean.
Does an excellent job of slicing however you may want to place softer product in the freezer for a brief period, this will make slicing easier, and you will have a uniform final product. The adjustable slicing blade works great and gives you a good variety of thickness to choose from. Solid product such as carrots will not require cooling and both the slicer and shredder will give you a final product that is even in size. The three-piece Food Pusher is another neat feature that helps to get a final product that is uniform in shape and size.
The KFP1318 is built solid and is incredibly quiet during operation. Plenty of control with the Low, High, and Pulse controls. I am not an experienced user of Food Processors however the controls were enough for my needs. Our old Food Processor was a pain to work with and clean, so it did not get the use it could have.
The Refrigerator Lid, Dicing Kit, and the French Fry Disc do not come with the KFP1318. These are accessories that would be nice to have however you will have to purchase these separately or purchase the KFP1320. Would have been nice if the Refrigerator Lid was included with the KFP1318, it is an accessory that fits on the storage unit.

The Kitchenaid Food Processor is an essential tool to have in the kitchen if you are in need to get things chopped, shredded and sliced frequently. It’s a well built and cleverly designed appliance that, even though big and heavy duty, does not stand out much.
The food processor comes with 2 disks for shredding and slicing, both well thought out in terms of functionality. The shredder is 2 sided for fine and medium shredding duties, and the slicing disk is adjustable via a knob on the lid. In addition, a multi-purpose metal slicing disk is there for other chopping/mixing duties. And last but not the least a plastic dough blade is given which further adds functionality.
All these are typical is a well equipped food processor, but what stood out to me is the storage caddy that can hold all those accessories (and the 2 drive adapters) very conveniently, and settles inside the plastic work bowl. As such, the storage is so much better than other food processors I have used - everything is nicely together and less worries of fishing blades or adapters from the maze called kitchen drawers.
The controls on the food processor are minimal and no nonsense - just 3 buttons that can go through any job nicely - pulse, low, and high. The buttons are chunky and easy to press so if you’re using mittens or have a food-stained hand you can still get things done. And entire thing is well put together and gives off the feeling that this thing is heavy duty and can take some abuse.
Cleaning is super easy as well. Everything is dishwasher proof, as long as you stick to the top rack and use a non-heavy duty wash cycle (gentle or normal). I have put it through the wash quite a number of times and haven't seen any issue yet. Time will tell how the transparent work bowl and lid keep clear.
Though everything comes apart conveniently for easy assembly/disassembly, the unit does not run till everything is put into place correctly and securely. I feel like this is a must have feature to have so that there’s no mess or injury when using it.
The power and sharpness of the blades is quite impressive. I have used it to shred onions, carrots, radishes, and also sliced potatoes. I have also used the metal blade to mix together my meatloaf ingredients and everything came out as I desired. I haven’t encountered a single task that challenged the food processor yet. But as with any appliance, please check the manual for proper operation and use common sense if you want a long life out of this.
Overall, I am very happy with the KitchenAid food processor. It is kind of a workhorse and does an excellent job without catching too much attention, and I appreciate the utilitarian aesthetic it projects. It is not a cheap item, but I believe the value is there and it’s a good investment.
