Exploding Frozen Cans, But it's Not a Freezer.

Just purchased in the last week, this KitchenAid Dual Zone Beverage Center (and the 15 inch, under-counter KA ice maker, which I installed today). The top shelf of the BC had water in plastic bottles, soda, seltzer, and juice drinks all in cans. The bottom shelf has bottled/can beers and the two draws have white wine and champagne. The door has not been open for at least two days and today several of the soda and seltzer cans exploded making a huge mess all over the BC. Ironically, the water, juice drinks which are only two columns over, but on the same top shelf are not frozen at all. The box it was delivered in showed no damage and was sealed. How could the unit hold such uneven temperature on the highest shelf? The temperature was set at 37/50. You can only set the temp at a low of 33. Soda will freeze at 30 degrees. You cannot remove the shelf above the lower section to clean behind it. Remember, this is not a freezer and it does not balance the temperature well at all. This is not what I would expect from this brand for this price.
