Has been wishing for an ice maker for the winter and summer. Please with it, showed it of when we have company. Makes plenty of ice for individual or when used for company.

Yes, it costs a bit more to have the pump option. If you cannot depend on gravity drainage, then you need the pump option. Also, they should provide the first water filter with it at least. Mine did not come with one, so I had to get one. Perhaps, you can ask the store to provide it with your purchase? Oh, the pump is a bit noisy.

The installers however didn’t understand how to put the filter plug in place and forced it in. It has an alignment pin to allow it to easily fit in to turn. Very difficult to remove without damage when installed incorrectly

I needed an 18" undercounter and wanted a clear ice machine with a good duty cycle. The Kitchenaid swap with my Sub-Zero took less than an hour and operationally, it works perfectly. Ice is clear, cubes are uniform, and unit is quieter than expected. It makes plenty of ice with reasonable refresh time.

Since unit was still in mfg warranty AND I had purchased an extended warranty from Best Buy, I called for service. Agent told me I would have to uninstall unit including electrical, water supply and water discharge and bring unit to store for in-store repair. My policy did not include in-home service. What a deceptive and worthless policy.
