but it has more room and features than the Whirlpool that it replaced. More importantly, it's obviously better made; the door seals shut with a whoosh, it's easier to reach food items, and more energy efficient. Only complaint, a minor issue, the levers on the crisper drawers are plastic and can easily break off.

    Poor Interior Quality and Design

Pros - Appearance and keeps food cold. Cons - Too much space taken up by drawers and shelves, the divided shelves impede below storage space, temp control cutout takes away space and vision on top, door storage bins seem inadequate, quality of all drawers (fridge and freezer) are poor, and the refrigerator seem short. The refrigerator comes with a ton of shelves and door bins - We probably only use half of them because we found using all of them limits storage space, i.e. we only use two of four shelves because there isn't enough height and the shelf brackets are too big to fit groceries adequately and same goes for the door bins as a bottle of ketchup or milk would not fit without hitting the above bin. The two pull out bins in the refrigerator are tall but are not deep enough to storage more than a couple items. The long cheese drawer will pull out fully because of poor design. The wire baskets in the freezer make the it overall feel cheap. Overall I wish the refrigerator was taller and that the interior was better designed with quality and space optimization in mind. We thought we were upgrading the appliances in our new home with the Kitchenaid brand but wish we would have went in another direction.

This unit replace a GE purchased 10 years ago. The GE banged, wheezed and hissed at us from day one. This unit performed well immediately and the freezer below design is so much more convenient than the traditional freezer up. Only issue might be the mechanics of the drawers - a bit flimsy and not real smooth movement but more than adequate.

My old refrigerator was 32 years old and harvest gold! I think I deserved a new one. I had to get this one because of the cupboards above the refrigerator. Even with the smaller size everything fit! The lights are very bright. The only thing that could be improved is the drawers could be a little more sturdy.

I'm so pleased with this purchase-- I was looking at buying a Smeg, since I love the vintage look of them, but after doing countless hours of research, I made the decision to buy this KitchenAid fridge and I'm so glad I did. I've gotten so many compliments and it looks awesome in my kitchen. I've VERY picky with quality, look, etc. and this ticks all the boxes. If I had to say something negative, it would be that the drawers are slightly flimsy and could use some redesigning. Otherwise, it is spacious, sturdy, quite, and stunning. You can't go wrong. Service from BestBuy was also a breeze from ordering in the store (without seeing the fridge as it is not in stores) to the delivery / install. Go for it, you'll be happy you did.
