This unit replaced our previous kitchen aid that was a microwave/convection combo . The previous unit felt like better quality materials ( buttons,interior material,door weight etc). Although our previous unit only lasted about 4-5 years before the door fell apart and the display malfunctioned. Replacement door would have been $300. This new unit was $700 new, but we found open box in “excellent” condition for just about $300. It feels cheap by comparison , makes noises when running,door squeaks but works fine otherwise. Hoping to get more years from this unit.

This microwave is larger and more powerful than my old one--30 yrs old! Because of the size, it does stick out a little further. Also, the door doesn't open quite as far as my old one! It didn't even have a turntable, so am enjoying the new one!

The 4 stars is because my first unit lasted 1 week, then shorted out while not in use. The second unit has been working without any problems for 6 weeks, hopefully for a few more years. The only other issue I experienced it that it was a much tighter fit than my previous unit. I learned to lubricate the sides of the cabinets to facilitate mounting the unit. Now, I am delighted with the unit's operation. The steam sensor had prevented boil overs, and over cooking dinner plates with different ingredients. The popcorn button successfully cooks a serving from bulk popcorn in a silicone popper. The stove light is very bright, and the fan has three settings. There is a option to externally vent the fan, if your kitchen has a vent. There is a wire rack for heating multiple dishes, and the sensor can tell how many plates are in the oven. The vegetable button will toggle frozen, fresh and number of cups, and the potato button cooks potatoes much better than any unit I have used. One last comment, although 2 people are recommended for installation, I had no trouble mounting the unit by myself, a 50+ woman. I can recommend the Kitchenaid microwave as a reasonably priced over the stove unit for a family or singles.

Great microwave, very happy with it. Nice price for this level of microwave, worth the price. Installation was fairly easy, just tried not to rush through all the steps. Recommend watching some YouTube installation videos for this model. Looks nice in the kitchen with our other KitchenAid appliances.

We purchased this item so it would match our new stove. It was really more microwave than we really needed and it is bigger than the one it replaced. Because it is bigger and the door hangs lower, we have to be careful to not get bonked in the head!

The KitchenAid microwave is easy to use. The controls are logical and clearly labeled. Streamlined design is attractive.

It’s a great product and and we love the look and the power it provides. By far one of the best appliance we have purchased.

Kitchen aid microwave is better quality than prior over the stove unit. Noticeably quieter. Weak point of all of them seems to be the durability of the handle . Replacement of a broken handle is a dubious DYS project. This unit has a metal rather than plastic handle which I hope will last longer. Working well so far.

I love this microwave! It's so quiet and very easy to operate! I'm so glad we chose this one. We previously had a Samsung which only lasted 13 months! Never again!

Purchased for the size and functions. All of which are easy to use. Kids love popcorn setting. Biggest surprise was how easy it was to install ( takes 2 people )

We are enjoying our new microwave. It’s easy to use, quiet, and the signals are loud enough to hear, but not obtrusive.

Easy to install, much quieter than the Kenmore unit this replaced. Works fine, I guess I could have used something cheaper but this matched the new fridge and range so we had to get this model. I installed it myself because I find the price charged by Best Buy too much for a microwave install.

This microwave is noticeably quieter than the premium model it replaced. It has a strange non stainless finish inside, I don’t know how it will hold up. Owners guide is basically useless, talks about “two level cooking” but doesn’t explain what they mean etc, no guides for sensor cooking etc. Keypad is backwards from several popular models, the start button is close to the door, while the cancel is at the outer edge (not normal for right handlers who rest hand against edge while thumbing buttons) and other slightly wonky design decisions. Light on bottom is not LED so you will be regularly replacing bulbs and the light timer is pointless, can’t schedule it as a night light. Handle is huge and easy to grasp but design only matches other appliances of same make, not generic. You can’t customize the loudness of the timer or the brightness of the display. Installation was standard but read first, the support is at the very bottom and this is a large unit, had to cut inches from my backsplash tile to mount it, not happy about that. Fan is powerful and has many settings including automatic on if too much heat from stove, it’ll scare you first time is goes to high by itself!

Love this Microwave! Very quiet. I like the chimes when food/drink is done instead of a loud beeping. Cooks very well & fast & even. No hot spots. Has so many functions! Matches my new KitchenAid 3piece suite of appliances. Very beautiful style! The only thing I miss from my old GE microwave was the button 30 sec. just one or 2 touches to heat up my hot drinks. Now I have to touch 4 buttons for 30secs.
