Very Disappointing for the Price

I have owned this refrigerator for just over two years now and wanted to give some longer-term perspective for potential buyers. Roughly one year after having this unit installed, multiple interior LED lights began to go out (apparently a known issue). By the end of our second year, all of the lights have failed and the refrigerator is no longer cooling. The freezer still works but the refrigerator continues to give an “over temp” warning and holds temperature at 50 degrees. I have been dealing with KitchenAid and their contacted service provider in our area for 1 month now and after multiple visits we still have a refrigerator that will not cool. Their contracted technicians were supposed to arrive this morning after confirming with me yesterday and they blew off the appointment and attempted to reschedule for next week. As I said, it has not performed it’s primary task of cooling for a month now, so I ultimately had to fire that company and go out on my own (now paying out of pocket no less) in order to have this issue resolved. I thought that at a $9000 price point that the product and customer experience would reflect the up-front cost but I have been disappointed it has not. Multiple calls with KitchenAid, countless hours on hold, a month gone by and I’m having to start over and pay another company out of pocket to resolve this. A month with no refrigerator for a family of 5 has been very challenging. At this point I just wish I could sell it back to them and buy a Sub Zero for an extra $1000. I thought that KitchenAid was a more respected appliance company, but in my experience with this refrigerator it is just overpriced to give the illusion of superiority. I would suggest looking elsewhere if you are considering this unit.

My wife and I purchased this refrigerator not really knowing what to expect. First off, the refrigerator is beautiful and elegant inside and out..Second, the quality is magnificent and it it very appealing.. We are extremely happy with our purchase. A+..

A simple built-in refrigerator without the excessive bells & whistles that take up space on the interior. I really like the Sabbath mode, so the ice maker gets a break. 20cf is the perfect size for my husband & I. I really appreciate that the freezer is modest in a size & the soft close drawers are a great feature.

Integrates easily with cabinets. Matching panels make the refrigerator look like the cabinets. Main complaint is the freezer compartment is a bit small.

Love the new refrigerator. It’s much more spacious than the old one, with all the measurements be the same as the 19tear old kitchen aid fridge that replaced

Refrigerator had a door issue when purchased but Best Buy said not a problem. Now it's sounding like it's stripped and going to fall off and there's no more warranty.

Horrible Design and Quality

We've had this refrigerator for 4 years. Although it's been OK, it has been horribly unreliable. Some parts are simply poorly designed or poor quality. Very poor quality. We have had the refrigerator lights (its a built-in string of LED lights break twice, and repaired/replaced twice. They are broken again. The icemaker has always had difficulty determining when to stop making ice. The arm that senses when to stop has broken twice. When the icemaker is overfull (often), ice drops under the freezer drawer and melts, leaving water damage on the floor below. This is continual enough to damage the floor in front of the refrigerator. I would strongly not recommend buying this refrigerator.
