I've had this model for a several days. It replaced a 15 yo Kitchenaid. I am in San Diego, and it's January, so the fridge is not operating in a hot environment. Freezer temp is set at factory recommended standard. The ice maker produces ten not-very-big cubes at a time. It takes 66-86 minutes to produce one set of ten cubes. (As I'm writing this, I note that the last four ice dumps were exactly 66 minutes apart.) This is using the 'max ice' setting, and not opening/closing the freezer during that time Not using the 'max ice' setting, cubes take maybe 10 minutes longer. So 'max ice' seems to make very little, if any difference. I relayed my results to Kitchenaid via the website 'chat' function, and was informed that my results were normal. So 'working as designed'. My 2005 Kitchenaid produced ice multiple times faster. Please also note that to flip the ice maker on/off switch, you have to completely remove the ice bucket. It also told you what the actual temperatures were, in addition to settings. On the plus side, this one is about as quiet as my old one. I live in a condo with an open floor plan, so this is important to me. The only noticeable noise so far is when the ice maker tray empties/fills, which same behavior as old one. The fingerprint-resistant finish actually does resist fingerprints. How'd that happen? Not a fan of the grey sides and plastic strip across the bottom, but it's not terrible. It cools and freezes fine, as far as I know, but I don't put a lot in there. My water dispenser lets out a drip every few minutes. Best to put a small container under the water tube, to keep the drip from staining. Be sure to study the big fold-out user guide. Manipulating settings on the front of the fridge is not intuitive. I spent an extra amount of money, partly to have fridge doors that were aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, when BB delivered, they ran the fridge into an overhang, and dented a door. A replacement fridge was delivered, but upon inspection showed the same bad seams at the top, an obvious gap, that has been noted in reviews elsewhere. Also the flexible seals around the top of the door showed obvious gaps, so not sealing. Rejected. Poor QA at the factory. Waiting for delivery of a third one. If at all possible (and it's probably not) try to inspect that actual item to be delivered, before it's delivered.

Fridge is for 2nd home so due to pandemic, I haven’t seen or used it yet.

Loved the refrigerator, but the water dispenser only worked intermittently. Two service calls later with no fix I had to return it. I didn't replace it with KitchenAid!

We love our other kitchen aid appliances and assumed we would love this as well. For the price, the overall quality is pretty poor. Loved the outside, disappointed with the inside. Wouldn’t recommend.

Didn’t take delivery yet, but, after research knew it was the one for us.

Water leaks 1 oz each time ice lever is pressed. KitchenAide can’t repair the manufacturer defect. GeekSquad has taken over 4 months to resolve this but no joy yet…

Delivery was excellent, water hookup at home a problem due to code changes. Had a plumber hook up. At least 4 product components missing. Ice maker and water do not work.

Great appliance with side by side stainless steel.

Completely failed after barely 18 months. KitchenAid keeps trying to upsell me insurance rather than fix it. $500 now, or $50 a month. Rip off. Will never purchase this brand again. Complete pile of cr@p.

The icemaker wasn't sealed properly so condensation freezes within the dispenser and later melts all over the floor. This has been going on since day one and its still broken after two visits by a Whirlpool approved technician.

Open box item. Took three weeks to delivery. Plug it in and it did not work correctly. Contacted Best Buy to resolve. Same issue for the reason it was returned. Should have never been on the floor for sale.

Refrigerator was not delivered as scheduled. We had to reschedule for a week later. It arrived with two small dents on the inside of the doors where the doors meet. Also there was glue on the side which may be insulation coming through a seam. The refrigerator was supposedly special order so that may explain the delivery issues. Although the other 4 pieces we purchased had the same problem. I expected more from one of the more expensive refrigerators they sell. They are supposed to replace the unit. We’ll see. Also purchase date they’re listing is incorrect. We our used it on 1/21.

Do not buy not worth the price. The bottom pull out drawers are cheap plastic. Embarrassing quality for what price tag is

Started having issues just as the 1yr warranty was up. Refrigerator side ices over like the others have experienced, so the air cannot flow to keep food cool. Paid almost $400 for a relay to be replaced and it still ices over. We have to melt the ice with a hairdryer every other freaking day to keep it below 60. Super frustrating to spend this kinda of money on a fridge to only last a year. Never made much ice either. Piece of junk with a fancy name badge.

We've owned the fridge for 13 months. Last month the ice maker broke and today the freezer broke.
