Although it is a beautiful fridge, there are twoa few things I do not like about it. The first one is that it only has ONE light bulb in the freezer, so the freezer doesn't have much light, if at all, which brings me to my second complaint - the placement of the bulb. The bulb is in a place where items in the freezer block the light, so if you have a full freezer there is no light. The third complaint is the space of the freezer. The freezer is not as deep as it appears when empty. Had I known of these issues, I would have reconsidered the purchase.

I like this refrigerator very much. It has many good features. However, the icemaker broke down at the 11 month point. It cannot be fixed. The entire door on the side where the icemaker is must be replaced. The repair man said 30 out of 40 appliances that he fixes every week are less than one year old and that the replacement parts are better than the originals. Thank goodness this broke down before one years time, however, KitchenAid has a good limited warranty for up to 10 years. One of the few.

We bought this KitchenAid refrigerator in October 2023 and it broke down in March 2024. A month ago, in February, I would have said this is a good refrigerator and would have recommended it with a few reservations, namely that it's made of aluminum on the outside, not stainless steel, and its insides are plastic. All refrigerators are made with plastic these days so it would be tough to find a refrigerator that isn't. But the problem we've had is the main refrigerator compartment stopped cooling. The freezer and ice compartment maintain their freezing temps but the refrigerator is up to 60 degrees. It's under warranty so KitchenAid referred us to a local appliance repair who came out and said the entire insides of the refrigerator compartment have to be replaced. We had to wait two weeks for the parts. We're now 4 weeks without a working refrigerator and are defrosting it as instructed. We've lost a ton of food. Although we hope the scheduled repair will be successful, one of the reviewers on this site indicated that they are waiting for their fourth replacement, so I'm not optimistic that it will ever be a good investment. I bought this refrigerator because it perfectly fits my built-in cabinetry and it's aesthetically very nice, but I regret this purchase.

Very nice refrigerator but I did have to put in a service call twice within 3 months of purchase to fix very loud noise. Technician though it was just due to loose parts. The second call seemed to fox the issue

Hi. The refrigerator is quite nice with flexible shelving, convenient and easy. Lots of storage , doors are sturdy with ample storages space. However two minor problems. 1. The right bottom fruit bin does not close all the way when using the auto close feature. appears the right side of the bin doesn’t completely close. 2. The lighting in the freezer draw is wholly inadequate. Barely see what’s in there at night. Needs another light fixture not just one that can display the entirety of the freezer. Or higher amp light bulb. Thanks

Issue with water service

Very nice unit, but water fill for icemaker is very noisy and cycles frequently. Will probably ask for service to ensure there are no issues with ice maker or water valve system.

If you are reading this review, I beg you. DO NOT BUY this fridge.
I know it is beautiful and you will hope that it doesn't break with you, but it will.
Ours broke down completely after exactly 13 months we bought it. KitchenAid was gracious enough to offer a 1 time only repair as a courtesy since we didn't have an extended warranty (We had BestBuy total tech.. Keep reading).
As I'm writing this review, the technician just left our place and if you don't believe me, believe him: "This fridge is horrible. Buy the extended warranty, you will need it". FYI, the extended warranty is $250 per year.
We are now waiting for a Compressor and a Drier.
And if you are like us and signed up for BestBuy total tech as it is only $180 per year and it covers all appliances (We bought all appliances for a kitchen and a laundry from them) bear in mind that even though they do fix things, they are very busy. For the Fridge, we were able to secure an appointment 20 days in the future and that was just to diagnose the issue. Then they would request the parts and schedule another appointment. So if we were to use BestBuy, it would mean ~40 days without a fridge. I cancelled that as I was able to get KitchenAid to help.
So be smart.. Best to get something with a higher rating and even better, try talking to a appliance repair shop. They know what is good out there.

I love this refrigerator! The inside is platinum with a wood trim tray. Not your traditional white inside.
Good size as well, not too big or too small. Could have used more space in bottom freezer, but still holds enough.

Love the lights on inside. Great shelf space. Doors open wide to fit large platters in surprise pull out container if you want to marinate meats. Freezer give a lot of space Easy to pull drawer open even when full of frozen items.

I love my new refrigerator! Lots of room and great for the space I have in my kitchen!! The coating on the outside of my black fridge creates no smearing or water stains!! I only wish the ice maker was bigger!

Love this refrigerator. It has a lot of room for being counter depth and the wood trim on the inside is really eye pleasing,

Product is good so far, but not even a month running and water and ice dispenser are not working.
This is unacceptable for a HIGH price product.
I will get in contact to warranty support.

Love the look and the self closing drawers. Nice finish and plenty of space. Depth is perfect so you can see all your stuff without moving the whole fridge around.

This is the worst purchase we have ever made.
The ice maker ices up. We reported it immediately and they sent a tech who blamed it on our RO unit. (What's the point of having one if you cannot connect your refrigerator to it)
Funny - the RO and Fridge are BOTH made by Whirlpool. Neither one says they cannot work together.
Tech spends hours (figuratively) talking to the factory rep. Says we need a new controller. Orders it.
Comes back and puts it in. Doesn't work. He comes back. More time on the phone to the factory. Oh wait it's the OTHER controller.
No joy. Comes back and this time says they'll replace the whole door. He orders it. Eventually a huge box comes to our house. We call and get it installer. You know the result.
I'm telling the spouse we need to have Best Buy haul it away and bring us the current model where they fixed the problems. She calls and they send the tech one more time. Oh yeah - it's two years my now.
He comes and says it's the RO unit. FINE. I order an RO booster pump and put it in the next day. I'm glad to do it if it fixes the problem. IT DOES NOT.
Soooo, I go to Best Buy and they say. We're sorry. It's out of warranty.
Well played Kitchenaid and Best Buy. The classic "stall" maneuver.

I fell in love with the looks of this fridge. So much so I adjusted the cabinet I had on top to account for the height difference from my old fridge. Looks awesome, love the tray and have used it a lot...great to go from fridge to oven...even used it for other baking. I am still getting used to the smaller ice compartment although I've never had issues with it. Also, I've noticed when I store pizza's in the front freezer compartment they seem to get a little more ice coating on them when I open them? The middle width size drawer is awesome and keeps my drinks COLD! My veggies seem to keep longer and the smell is fresh. Also love the adjustable shelf where I can push it back for taller items when needed. Anyone that's seen it raves about it (without coaching)

We have no complaints after about a month of ownership. It is quiet - silent actually except for the 15 seconds it fills the ice trays or the 5 second when it dumps the the fresh ice in the bin, is well designed for maximum efficiency, and it looks so pretty. The ice is super cute too, which isn’t something I have ever thought about saying before. The crisper drawers as deep and hold lots of fresh produce and the soft close drawers are a plus if you have hungry teens in your home. The auto fill water is also very convenient, and allows me to multi task rather than wait for my enormous hydro flask to fill up. Great fridge and I am glad I chose this one.

The interior of the refrigerator is the best part, its wood interior brings it to a different level of elegant, the led lights and the darker color gives it a elegant look; however, the ice cubes are a nice size not too big or too small. It works very well keeping the food cold. The exterior keeps clean longer from fingerprints. The handles have a nice firm hold.
