As an interior designer looks are very important to me. I read the reviews and failed to listen to them. Thinking maybe I will be lucky and will not get a bad fridge as I read in the reviews. Unfortunately my luck was not with me. I have owned this fridge since September 9th 2019 and I am now going to be on my second service call. My first experience was my food going bad as a refrigerator would not cool. They had to send out a tech which came and checked out the fridge. He determined he had to order a part as the original part froze up and would not do the job properly. So I had to wait several days for the new part to come in. Keep in mind I had no food as all my food went bad. Here I am less than a month later in my refrigerator is once again not keeping the proper temperature. Please trust me and do not buy this fridge. Do not be a sucker like me because it looks amazing. The actual mechanics and design of this product is very poor. There has to be a reason why there are so many one stars.

The perfect counter-depth unit for a tight space

This is a PREMIUM refrigerator, from top to bottom. We really like it. The top section is incredibly spacious and versatile, and offers plenty of storage in multiple forms. Much more than we had in our old side-by-side unit. The adjustable mid-shelf is nice for when you need to store tall items such as bottles or large jars of stuff. On top of all that, the charcoal-silver interior with LED lighting and wood-grain accents creates a very premium aesthetic that just feels very nice and futuristic. The water and ice dispenser works great, no complaints there. The freezer on the bottom is typical of most bottom pull-out freezers. The trays are somewhat handy for limited organization, but at the end of the day, you're just piling things in there anyways. I've entertained the idea of just taking the trays out to make more room… but we'll see. One last note -- this is a counter-depth fridge, and that really matters in small kitchens with limited space, where the fridge cutout is nestled alongside cabinetry or otherwise limited in its depth. The depth measurements between counter-depth and full-depth may not seem that drastic, but they really are. Additionally, you may also need to look at door clearance on the side of the unit when opened. A lot of refrigerator models will add to their width by a few inches when the doors are opened… which can be another problem in a tight space or if one side of the fridge is against a wall. This KitchenAid has the door hinges arranged in such a way that when the doors are opened, they still remain nearly-flush with the sides (adding less than 0.75" of extra width when open). Overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase. It was more expensive than most other options we looked at, but at the end of the day, it was worth it.

VERY FRUSTRATING experience with this refrigerator. I will preface this with the fact that I absolutely love the layout of this unit. It is my pride and glory of the kitchen. I am a social media influencer and constantly hear about how beautiful and functional this refrigerator is for family-friendly meal prep and snacking. And it absolutely is. IF it worked properly. With that said--we invested in a very expensive refrigerator that has MAJOR issues with very unsatisfying resolutions thus far. From the start, the ice maker would never make more than one batch of ice at a time--no matter what we tried. Within 6 weeks of purchasing this unit, the back compartment froze up and it began making a loud buzzing sound and stopped cooling properly. It would bring the internal temperature to about 55 degrees only. We lost all of the food in our refrigerator and went through several rounds of lengthy wait-time phone calls, receipt transmissions and appointments. It took literally 3 MONTHS for the part to come in and the refrigerator to be fixed. I am a very patient person, but continued calls weekly grew more and more frustrating. Our hands were tied. No one could give us a better response. After repair (in excess of $700 but was covered by warranty), the refrigerator and ice machine then worked from October through May. Then the ice machine stopped producing...and now--THE SAME ISSUE is happening again within the refrigerator. We have exactly 20 days until the end of our 1 year warranty. All that can be done as per the customer service line is for a technician to again be sent out. We have again lost all the food, and I am very fearful for the longevity of such an expensive purchase. I should not spend $4000 on a refrigerator, only to have to buy a "back-up" one because of how unreliable it is. Take it from this person who never writes bad reviews and absolutely fell in love with this refrigerator....this one is way to "iffy" and may cause more heartache than it's worth.

I am really enjoying our new refrigerator. For a counter depth refrigerator it has a lot of space and great lighting. Also, I love having the freezer below. There is only one reason I did not give it 5 stars and that is because of the Ice Maker. The Ice Maker just simply doesn't put out much ice. Now when we have people over we have to buy ice. I hate that inconvenience. I think I read that when you buy the refrigerator you can include an ice maker in the lower freezer, if that is true I wish we had done that.......then it would be perfect.

I don’t know why people complain about this refrigerator making a lot of noise. Their bedroom must be really close to their kitchen. I love this refrigerator for its sleek look, soft close drawers, and the double fridge space filter. The only downside to this fridge might be that I wouldn’t consider it a “big family fridge”. It’s a little light on the cubic inches of storage but once you start using it you get to know what arrangements work best. I’d still buy it again just to smile when I open it, haha!

**Stylish and Efficient - Perfect for a Modern Kitchen** I recently upgraded to the KitchenAid 23.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator, and it has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. This refrigerator combines style, space, and functionality, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their kitchen. **Sleek and Elegant Design:** The stainless steel finish is stunning and gives my kitchen a modern, upscale look. The counter-depth design fits flush with my cabinetry, creating a seamless and integrated appearance. It’s a real showstopper that gets compliments from everyone who visits. **Spacious and Well-Organized:** The 23.8 cu. ft. capacity is impressive, especially for a counter-depth model. The interior is thoughtfully designed, with adjustable shelves, deep door bins, and a full-width pantry drawer that makes organizing food a breeze. The French doors open wide, allowing easy access to everything inside. **Efficient Cooling and Freshness:** The Preserva Food Care System really stands out. It keeps my produce fresh for longer, and the separate cooling zones ensure that food is stored at the optimal temperature. The freezer section is also well-organized, with ample space for all my frozen goods. **Quiet and Energy-Efficient:** This refrigerator runs quietly, which is a big plus for an open-concept living space. It’s also energy-efficient, which has made a noticeable difference in my electricity bills. **Convenient Features:** The interior water dispenser is discreet yet convenient, providing filtered water without taking up too much space. The ice maker is efficient and produces a good amount of ice without being noisy. **Easy Maintenance:** The fingerprint-resistant finish keeps the refrigerator looking clean and shiny with minimal effort. The shelves are easy to wipe down, and the stainless steel exterior holds up well to daily use. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the KitchenAid 23.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator. It combines beauty, efficiency, and practicality, making it a perfect fit for my kitchen. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a high-quality, stylish refrigerator!

Fridge is good quality. The middle shelf with the sliding shelf is built incorrectly. It creates a tray versus a smooth shelf. Poor engineering in that aspect. It is a somewhat noisy fridge. A constant low roar I would call it from some fan. It’s more noticeable at night when the house calms down. Definitely some disappointment after paying the price. I

This has a nice layout, as I can get a lot into it. The stay fresh features really do help keep your refrigerator odor free and make your food stay fresh longer, BUT it makes a loud, high- pitched whining noise ALL THE TIME. The ice maker keeps very little ice. The left door makes a loud slamming noise unless you make a conscientious effort to close it very slowly.

You can’t clean this refrigerator long term.

There is no way to remove the glass to clean any spills you might have. It looks filthy all of the time. The freezer soft close doesn’t work and the wording for the water dispenser has faded after a year. When we have guest they are always confused on which one is water and which is ice. This was a beautiful fridge but it makes me so sad to see that you’re unable to keep it clean. I’ve looked online and do not see away to lift the glass. If this is possible, please let me know kitchenaidt.

This is a gorgeous refrigerator. I modified the cabinets to allow the extra height and it was worth it. The inside it so very well lit, nothing can hide. It replaced a 10-year-old Samsung counter depth fridge that was leaking water. The printshield works well, very easy to clean. The cut handles are great non-slip solution and look fantastic. The layout of the usable space in both the freezer and the fridge is thoughtful. Here's where the one star comes in, the ice maker has never worked. Installed May of 2021, it has never produced ice. Called Best Buy out, I paid for professional installation, they re-leveled the fridge. Still nothing. Called KitchenAid, they sent a technician out. He did some tweaking, said to call him in 24 hours to see if it made ice, nothing. He came back out got KitchenAid on the phone, had to order parts. They said expect to wait 2-3 months for parts. $4000 fridge, no ice. I am fearful the parts aren't going to solve the problem and it will be another 2-3 months... Sadly the 10-year-old Samsung still produced ice even the day I unplugged it.

Overall quality is good. It is very nice but not as great looking as the 5-door model or GE Cafe. Exterior is handsome but does lack the wow-look I have seen on some of the higher end LG models. I think the GE Cafe is better looking but it is pricier. Ice maker bucket holds a small amount of ice--the smallest I have ever seen on a refrigerator. Interior lifhting is nice looking with LED lights and wood trim. Freezer drawer is little more than a bucket, but insode there is a pullout shelf and the interior of the front drawer holds a few pizzas vertically. My preference would be for the 5-drawer model for organization.

This is an amazing fridge. If you read through the reviews you’ll find everything from what a piece of garbage this fridge is to how great it is. Let’s start first with design. Kitchenaid lives up to its premium quality with this one — the wood accents on the inside are pretty and the LED lighting makes it even better. The produce drawer comes with a refresher bag which we’ve found to be helpful. Shelving is all glass and adjustable. For counter depth, I’m impressed with the storage capacity. The door storage is also helpful and it’s nice having the ice maker right at the top. With regard to the icemaker, note that it does take about a day to produce the first ice as the sticker says, but then it produces it very quickly. The small cubes are helpful and the crush function is consistent. The freezer space is also nice with some ingenious use of space with a pizza holder and some unique shelving. The unit is quiet and the ambient light sensor at night provides just enough LED light for a great nightlight. If you want a premium fridge with a beautiful look, this is the one. Our friends came over for a party the first day we had it and noticed immediately how “sexy” this unit is. Lol.

Beautiful refrigerator. I love KitchenAid quality and design. The craft ice is great. The only issue is the water dispenser. Water pours out fast and the dispenser sticks out farther out than the drain area so if kids are using it, the water will drip down the front to the floor. The delivery guys were excellent.

I have a confession. I thought refrigerators were mostly similarly designed. I'm sixty-five and I've lived with fridges all my life. And they've all been similar. Until now. The Kitchen Aid French Door Counter-Depth refrigerator is beautiful to look both inside and out. The stainless steel finish is resistant to finger prints, the handles are easy and the opening and closings are solid. I love the thought that has gone into the interior design. In previous refrigerators, we would throw away food that we'd forgotten about on a regular basis. So far, this isn't happening with the KitchenAid, primarily because of the design. The shelves are shallower so it's actually difficult to have food pushed to the back and made invisible. All shelves and drawers are made of a durable, transparent material and combine that with the beautiful rope lighting throughout allows me to get a view of almost everything either on the shelves or in the drawers. No more out of sight, out of mind. The little touches that I might have expected on more expensive refrigerators really make the experience better. There is a small non-stick tray that you can prep things in, slide it into its slot then put it in the oven to bake if you like. There is a tray with a faux wood finish on the front that is perfect for charcuterie. We can actually prepare our charcuterie board and it fits right in that tray. We've been using it for food we expect to prepare and serve sooner and that's helped with meal planning. There is a charcoal filter that helps remove food smells to which we had previously become accustomed. And, of course there is a filter for the water and ice. Speaking of which... We love the ice maker. It's quiet and the nuggets are perfect. It's easy to use, even for the grandchildren whether they want the nuggets or crushed ice. It's not a complaint but the freezer space does require you to be deliberate with what you purchase. However, we have dedicated freezer in our garage so we knew this would not be an issue. In fact, after we make our weekly meal plans, we move food from the outside freezer to the inside that we plan to use that week. We also have room to keep some things that we often use such as ice cream and popsicles for the grandkids...okay, the ice cream is for me. We've had the refrigerator for almost a month now (it was delivered on April 22nd, 2022) and every day it's just a joy to use. And I will say, that the delivery crew, headed up by Paris was wonderful and made sure everything was done correctly and even fielded a call after they left to answer questions. We could not have asked for better delivery or service. I know this might seem a little over the top for a refrigerator but I love to cook and entertain and this addition to our kitchen has just enhanced all of that which means that it's also enhanced our lives.

The interior of this refrigerator is beautiful with the 'wood' accents and lighting. My only compliants are that the freezer is very small and the ability to put tall things in the refrigerator is a challenge unless you push back the sliding shelf which dramatically reduces you storage space. Great for one person, might be a challenge to get everything in for a family.

I just got the KitchenAid 23.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator in PrintShield stainless, and I’m impressed. It looks sleek in my kitchen — the PrintShield finish actually resists fingerprints well, so it stays clean without constant wiping. The counter-depth fit makes it flush with my cabinetry, which I love. Inside, it’s spacious, the layout is smart — the drawer is great for deli meats and cheeses, shelves are solid, and the lighting is bright. Cooling is even, food stays fresh, and the compressor is relatively quiet. It runs smoothly and looks premium. Totally worth it if you want function + style.

The refrigerator is beautiful, but there are hinge covers on top that prevent pushing it back to flush with the counters. It has a noticeable hum/vibration and the ice maker is loud. Also the freezer drawer is heavy and not easy to open for me. It may be for others. Not what we expected from Kitchen Aid.

Fridge has been outstanding so far. I was skeptical as I had heard of issues with the in-door ice maker melting and causing the small access door to build up with ice. However, I’m happy to report I’ve had 0 issues with it since it was delivered exactly a month ago. Obviously still early, so issues could still come. Although I’d consider this fridge “over the top”, if you have the extra cash, I would highly recommend the fridge if you’re looking for something that checks the box for quality, exterior looks, interior looks, great ice, and an incredible built in water filter (removes taste from water).
