    This thing didn't work right immediately after installation. I microwaved some food and the buttons locked up afterwards. You could see steam build up where the timer is and once the steam went away, the buttons started working again. This has happens regularly after microwaving food and we only had it installed a month ago. I put in a service call and the technician told me that it is perfectly normal for the buttons to lock up like that and that it can't be fixed. I called Kitchenaid customer service and they said it was normal too. I have never heard of it being normal to have microwave buttons not work and it be "normal". Total piece of junk - and expensive too.

    Expensive piece of garbage. We're on our second one and ready to return it. These are all defective. The first one stopped heating after two days. The second one stopped heating after 1 week. The issue is the door does not close all the way. You have to press it in just a tiny *hair* in order to get the heating element to engage becuse the "close" button wont close it right. There is space between the door and the outside of the unit so you feel the heat waves as it cooks and can also see the light. The display gets foggy when cooking because of this. I wish I never bought this and I think returning it for a 3rd is just going to show the same issues.

    I owned this for 30 days. The first time I cooked a SINGLE chicken breast, the user display fogged over from the steam, and the control panel ceased to respond to button pushes...locking the food in the microwave. I attempted to resolve with KitchenAid, but they have decided to stick their head in the sand. So I returned, and as usual, Best Buy is great about that.

    There is no need for a microwave to be this complicated!!!!! It really is ridiculous to push so many buttons to microwave something. An expensive piece of junk! It is like going back in time. How is the world can a person hit clear and there Still be .6 sec. Left? Hit clear again and now it is .61 sec? Clear should be CLEAR! Where did .6 sec come from in the first place??? Sharp and Kitchenaid you dropped the ball.

    Great if you don't heat anything longer than 2 min

    Nearly $2K for a design that vents moisture near a seam in the housing that affects the electronics. If you heat anything longer than 2 minutes, the touchpad is unresponsive. BUT - never fear....you can go throw the breaker, turn it back on and viola! It will work. SERIOUSLY??

    Looks great in the space and the drawer slides out nicely. We had delivered 11-22-22. HOWEVER, it just will randomly NOT heat up the food/water that we put in it. I tried three times this morning to make oatmeal and it just didn’t cook it. The fourth time it worked. What should have taken one minute ended up taking almost 6. We tried to warm up water and it was the same temp. That ended up taking two rounds of trying it again. Going to contact Best Buy once the agents are available. You also have to be careful with the display buttons as they’re very easy to touch. We decided to “lock” the buttons until we need to use it so they aren’t accidentally pushed. Disappointed in the microwave.
