BRAND NEW: Bad Door Latch and Thumping Sound.

Just paid for installation a week ago. From the start I though the door latch did not shut securely. First full load tonight. Had to keep pushing on the door to try and get the machine to go. Filled and unfilled top rack to see if something was blocking the door. Found nothing. Also machine is making a thumping sound when it is filling. Not quiet. Third rack at the very top doesn't hold much but it does interfere with glasses on the rack below. Replaced a 15 yr old Bosch. Now wishing I had bought Bosch. Calling tomorrow.

We bought this along with a kitchenmaid range and refrigerator after having other kitchenmaid appliances for years. The dishwasher has needed to be serviced twice, this time due to a rubber gasket that is worn out causing the unit to leak water all over my new floor (another cost to repair). Apparently they don't sell the rubber gasket alone leaving us with the only option of paying hundreds of dollars to repair, or to replace the whole dishwasher after only a few years. Very disappointed for a kitchnaid purchase.

This is by far the nicest dishwasher we have ever owned. Very quiet. I can barely hear it while in the kitchen and that is when it is on the tougher wash cycles. Stainless front is nice. Stays fairly clean. Easy to clean when it does get something on it. The dishwasher cleans well. It dries well. I don’t think any dishwasher will completely dry everything. The top utensil rack is a nice touch as well. I also like the ability to move the tines on the top rack and raise and lower it as well. We have all matching KitchenAid appliances from our full kitchen renovation and they all make it look high end.

This is an exceptionally quiet dishwasher, which is exactly what we wanted. Have only had this for a week, so not sure if this is just from not understanding how it works, but the drying requires you to put it on prodry, otherwise everything stays wet. I had dishwashers in the past that would dry without an extra heat setting, due to heat of the water or something. Also, the racks/prongs are not as adjustable as I would have liked, but our previous dishwasher was worse, so can't complain, it is an improvement and the utensil basket is humungous. I

It took someone to come out 3 times to get it to work. It didn't work when they first installed it. I called best buy to come out and fix it, and they said I had to go through the manufacturer. When the manufacturer help came out they were nice but couldn't fix it either. They last time they came out they replaced the latch and the top rolling rack, and now it works. I found out they have been having problems with this models latch not staying closed. Now that it's fixed it cleans great. I was not happy with Best buy service.

Really happy with this purchase. Seems solidly built. Rack layout gives me lots of flexibility so many items that I used to wash by hand now go in the dishwasher. Third rack at the top is also handy for utensils. Everything is coming out shiny. This thing is ridiculously quiet. I have to stand absolutely still in the kitchen to hear if it’s running. Tech who installed it was the nicest guy ever and did a super job. Even took the time to go over operation. I like the fact that the installer is a Best Buy employee and not just the next contractor on the list.

It is quiet when running. I like that it has a filtration system but I haven't cleaned the filter yet. Its capacity is smaller than the one it replaced but you get use to it. It takes longer to clean because that's how energy saving dishwashers work. It has a utensil rack up top and you separate the silver ware nicely. We haven't used the bottle cleaning feature yet but it is cool to have it. You have to get use to not accidentally pushing buttons on when opening and shutting the door because they sit on the top of the door.

This DW seems to do a good job at cleaning the dishes. However, I'm not sure how much water it uses to do so. It's extremely quiet so I cannot hear the water running. It also takes a lot of time. I mainly use the "Normal" cycle which takes 3 hours. Our previous DW did not take that long but did not clean the dishes as well. The main reason I chose this DW was because of the shelf used for mixing spoons which has been really convenient. I also like the silverware basket where you stick the utensil into slots so they don't spoon and are easily removed.

We bought this because our new home is open plan and we needed a quiet dishwasher that would get dishes clean (the one that conveyed with the home wasn't cutting it). Dishes usually do come out clean (sometimes require a hand wash, but not often), and this machine is QUIET! In fact, likely to be one of the quietest on the market. The 3rd rack is also easy to remove. Only negative would be that about half of my silverware doesn't fit in the slots, however there are open compartments that can handle those. All in all, a good dishwasher at a good price!

Have been using this dishwasher for 3mos and it hasn’t let me down. Love the extra features: 3rd rack keeps knives out of harms way and the bottle cleaners ensure my Grandson’s bottles are thoroughly clean and sterile. I just Can’t get over how quiet it is! First time it was used, I kept going into the kitchen to make sure that it was still running. Sure enough, it was and the dishes came out beautiful. Now I can run the dishwasher at 3 am and my downstairs neighbor will have nothing to complain about.

    So Big And Quiet!

Just installed a few days ago. Had it professionally installed for free on a Kitchenaid promo. Glad I did as it took almost 3 hrs to install, due to the fact it is larger than most 24” dishwashers. Of course it is whisper quiet as you have read in other reviews. What I was not expecting is that the interior is much larger than the top of the line Bosch unit it replaced. Much more space inside due to design changes. AAAAA++++. Highly recommended, but have it professionally installed!

This is the first working dishwasher I’ve had in a few years so I don’t have anything great to compare it to but it has done a great job so far. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it says it removes burnt on stuff and it didn’t deliver on that promise. It did blow me away with its really cool bottle wash feature. It has individual prongs with jets to set bottles down on so that the water can get in to clean the bottles well!

    Perhaps a defective unit?

When the unit runs, the dishes are clean which is why I gave it 2 stars. If I didn’t have the issue below, I’d be giving it 5 stars. Unit doesn’t want to run the cycle after you close the door. It seems it doesn’t seal properly. Sometimes it’ll start running and a few minutes later it’ll stop with blinking lights and beeps. Now I have to have a broom keeping the door closed by pressure. Called KitchenAid and service guru due in 2 days so we shall see if this is simply a defective unit.

Dishwasher not all it's cracked up to be

I took the top (3rd) rack out...the utensils placed up there were not getting fully clean. This dishwasher is not easy to load unless you have only plates and very small bowls...small cooking and larger mixing bowls are difficult to load because the layout has very little flexibility compared to my old Maytag (which add some of the bottom separating racks able to fold down to create larger spaces.) On the good side, it is very quiet. But the Installer told me, when asked, that it will get noisier as the machine ages.

Old (and I mean old) dishwasher went kaput, went shopping for a new one. Looked them over with wife, kitchen aid was a tad pricier than I like, however the free installation promotion sealed the deal. It is a very nice dishwasher, and the 3rd, top rack, is wonderful for large spoons and spatulas and knives and such. I even put a baking sheet up there that wouldn’t fit below (although it just occurred to me as I write this review that I could have adjusted the middle rack....oh well). When they advertise these things as quiet....they are not joking! So quiet we occasionally make sure it’s on.

The Kitchenaid 334 in stainless steel is a very good appliance. We were fortunate to need a new dishwasher during the seasonal sales event, and we have a whole kitchen full of Kitchenaid appliance. Surface finish and roll bar handle matchs the ovens and refrigerator. The controls were somewhat difficult to get trained on...with all the new features of this model over the 20 year old one we replaced...but the cleaning results are better than the former one...plus it is VERY QUIET!! 39db WOW 3rd rack and adjustable middle rack are awesome features

The best DW i've ever owned

I have bought several other top appliance brands for my apartments over the years but i've never had a DW that performed as well as this one. Not only does it do a fantastic job of cleaning, has the huge benefit of a third rack for the silverware but it's the quietest DW I've ever owned. I never write reviews but with a product of such high caliber and performance and efficiency, i have to give credit where it's due. I will only recommend this model to my friends and will only ever buy this model going forward for my next residence. I can't say enough great things about this DW.

Replaced an old Whirlpool after it died. I can hardly hear this thing run. Used a hair dryer and floss to easily remove the oversized badge. One thing to note: The KitchenAid dimensioned drawings incorrectly show that there is 3/4" of insulation that can be compressed from the overall depth. The depth shown is from the front of the door to the back of the tub, the insulation is outside of this. Had I known this, I would have purchased a different dishwasher. As it is, I had to modify my cabinetry due to incorrect specifications from the manufacturer. Good thing the equipment was worth the hassle.

This dishwasher is the best one I've ever owned. It's so quiet you can't even tell it's running except for the indicator light. The rack design is great and the silver wear holders are big enough to hold all your silverware. The only thing I don't like is the little upper tray is too shallow to do any good. You can put silverware up there but they don't get cleaned good on both sides. I don't even bother with it any more. I've only owned it a couple of months but so far so good. Hopefully it lasts 10 years or more..

When it comes to quality, there's nothing like Kitchen Aid and this dishwasher surely proves it. It is so quiet that you need to look to see if the light is on otherwise you wouldn't know its running. It's that quiet. Although at over 2 hours the wash cycle is long the dishes do come out crystal clean. The top rack though does seem a little flimsy and there could be better layout design for dishes and glasses. But these are minor issues that do not deter from the otherwise superb performance
