Customers are saying
Customers recognize the 24" Top Control Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub for its exceptional cleaning performance and quiet operation. Many appreciate the additional space provided by the third rack and the dishwasher's large capacity. While some users noted longer cycle times than expected and occasional issues with the soap dispenser, the positive feedback on cleaning, noise level, and build quality outweighs these concerns.

Didn’t work
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was an open box deemed to work by Best Buy. Got it hooked up and it didn’t work and still had previous owners utensils in it. More of a Best Buy problem but still for a high end kitchenaid dishwasher to have those issues from the factory is unacceptable

My dishes come out dirty
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only thing that really matters with a dishwasher is if it can clean dishes. THIS DOES NOT! This is the 4th KitchenAid dishwasher I have owned. This is not like KitchenAid dishwashers used to be. The other dishwashers - toss the dishes in - don't worry about rinsing - run the load = clean. This one, rinse the dishes before putting them in, run the load still come out dirty..gross...disgusting. Not to mention a terrible reengineering of the 3rd rack. My last diswasher, I loved the 3rd rack for my silverware - this one - (and the reason I picked this model) - the silverware doesn't stay positioned in the top rack. It's for all intents and purposes useless.

Would not recommend
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m so angry that after spending over $400 on an appliance repair guy that I find out our dishwasher will cost so much to repair, we may as well buy a new one. Previously we had a bargain basement piece of junk from Sears that worked for over 9 years and was still working. I saved for a long time to have “nicer” appliances and I’m so disappointed that after 3 years this needs replacing. And my Samsung fridge is having problems too!

Fussy to Load and Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s quiet and gets the dishes clean. It’s also fussy to load and use, makes poor use of lower rack space, and uses more energy than the 25 year old KitchenAid that it replaced. I don’t recommend it. I deliberately left food residue on dishes and silverware and let it sit for days. Everything was cleaned spotlessly using the recommended PowerWash cycle, and almost totally dried on the heat plus fan cycle except for the bottoms of some cups. The silverware basket’s slotted cover is fussy to load and unload, with our utensils only fitting in about half of the various-sized slots. We’ve removed the cover. The basket only fits on the side, so the door has to be opened fully to put silverware in most sections of the basket. I wish I could move it to the front and put two rows of plates all the way across behind it. The recommended three rows of plates illustrated in the manual only works if the plates are less than 7” across. 12 place settings - my foot. The touch buttons on top of the door are another fussy irritant. It’s hard to close the door without touching one or more of them. Our unit is mounted under a counter with a couple of inches overhang, enough to block the time display when the door is closed. Our old dishwasher used 0.58 kWh per load, with air dry. Although this one is rated EnergyStar, it uses 0.69 kWh just for the wash cycle. The recommended heat dry puts it up to about 1 kWh. A big drawback is the lack of a fan-only dry, which would be more efficient than the power-hungry heat dry. If neither of the heat dry options is selected, it leaves the dishes to try to dry inside the sealed cabinet. That said, they got fairly dry once the cabinet was opened, except for the bottoms of cups and mugs which hold some water. Another irritant: According to the instructions, we’re expected to run the water until hot before starting a cycle on this supposedly “automatic” dishwasher. I wonder if this is to save it from being dinged on EnergyStar’s rating for wasting water or heating power. KitchenAid says it will heat the water somewhat, but my watt meter showed no difference in early cycle heating between a hot and a cold water supply. So you’ve got to either go through a manual step and waste water, or start the wash with cold water. Again, it doesn’t seem to hurt the cleaning power, so my recommendation is to forget this instruction.

Kitchenaid fail
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrible. The adjustable latch was defective, and I believe it’s now the subject of a recall. Parts have been breaking here and there. It’s just not what we expected from this brand. We have always taken good care of it. After 3 years, we now have to replace it. 3 years isn’t long at all.

Don't buy this
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TRASH!!!! This product solidified my terrible opinion of Kitchenaid. I will never buy this brand again. Not even a year old the dishwasher broke, we ended up going back to Bosch. I called Kitchenaid for support and had the worst customer service experience I have ever had. The agent was demeaning and rude.

Leeks and Manufacturer won’t fix it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brand new and leaks. Bought the protection plan but apparently it failed too soon for that to kick in. Geek Squad sent me to Whirlpool which came out but couldn’t fix it. Now struggling to have someone take responsibility. Stay away!

Worst investment ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Broke 4 times in 4 years. The inner plastic pieces cannot withstand the heat the unit produces. Very unfortunate. Pieces keep breaking off and racks won't raiser or lower or hold dishes

A Bit Frustrating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially wanted to buy a different KitchenAid model but saw the powerarms on this one and just had to have it. I love the way it makes my dishes sparkling clean and dry (which was very important to me) BUT I ended up removing the third rack after a couple of weeks. I found that if I needed to adjust the upper rack all the way up so I could get larger plates to fit in the bottom rack, I couldn't put my tall glasses in the upper rack due to the third rack being in the way. If I lowered the upper rack for the glasses, I couldn't fit my plates in to the lower rack. I thought about exchanging it but I couldn't find another that I like without going up in price so I opted to remove the third rack. Now everything fits as it should with no frustrations. It is a bit disappointing though because I really liked the idea of that third rack. This is the only reason I didn't give it five stars.

Looks nice, Works decently, Dries poorly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had to replace the dishwasher that was already installed when we bought our home. This KitchenAid looked fancy, and we love our mixer and coffee maker, so we went for it. Loading dishes is a hassle, though. Dishes just seem to fit awkwardly. Drinking glasses don't fit quite right, and you can only get a few to fit on each side. Tall glasses don't fit well at all, even with the basket lowered all the way. We can only fit about half of what we could in our older dishwasher. The biggest problem, though, is drying. Even on pro-dry & heated dry, coffee mugs and food containers (anything with a lip on the bottom) are just full of water. We have to pull out the top rack slowly so the water doesn't slosh off and onto the lower rack and floor. It's also not very fast. Our cycles take about 4 hours each. On the bright side, it does clean well and isn't very noisy. All in all, though, I would have expected better from this product.

Still leaking, weekly repairs, will not replace.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not one to write bad reviews, but I have never had such a bad experience with a company. We love our Kitchen Aid mixer, blender, and food processor, and when Consumer Reports recommended this dishwasher, we decided to spend a little extra and get it. It has never worked perfectly, but after the first month it started leaking. We have now had five repair visits for a dishwasher we have had for less than 3 months. Think about having to take off work every week and wait for a repair guy. We have another repair scheduled for this week. I keep asking if this is not normal for your products why not replace this lemon. I am told it is a one year service warranty, and they will keep sending repair people until it is deemed totally inoperable. Can you imagine constantly having to put down rags to catch the spurts of water coming out of your dishwasher, only to be told that there is no end in sight and it is up to them to decide when they sold you a lemon. I am hoping that Best Buy steps in and helps us get a replacement but I still haven't heard back from them. Hopefully they do and I will make sure never to buy a kitchen aid major appliance again. I hope my story will help you not make the same mistake as me.
