Champagne Taste on a Lager Beer Pocketbook

It's very rare to see home appliances almost as old as me and still going strong. I'm a 1956 model by the way. Exclusively, these venerable appliances are Kitchenaid dishwashers. Can't just be coincidental. This Kitchenaid though basic still has that solid high quality feel to it. Didn't want to break the bank when I bought it. I knew I wanted quality but didn't need all the bells and whistles. This Kitchenaid has the features that count. 1. Stainless Steel Tub 2. Exclusive 4 way Hydro Sweep main wash arm 2. Delayed start feature. When I do the dishes, I just toss them in and add the Cascade and I'm ready to roll. I don't pre rinse. What's the use of a dishwasher if I have to pre rinse my dishes, glassware and forks? I use Cascade Complete liquid or the Cascade pillow thingies with Dawn and all my stuff comes out clean. What more could I ask for? I opt for no heat drying and I'm satisfied. Regarding the soap dispensor: Whirlpool took over Kitchenaid several years ago. They kept most of Kitchenaid's best features. However, they use the Whirlopool soap dispensor which isn't bad but, I felt the original units seemed sturdier. Very happy and would recommend this Kitchenaid dishwasher to folks like me who want quality but don't want to pay four figures for clean dishes.

    Pretty Good Dishwasher

I've had the dishwasher for about 6 months and am generally happy with it. I waited to write a review until I had it for a few months b/c so many reviews are written within a couple of weeks of ownership and that doesn't really help me much. I didn't expect to end up with a problem, but I did: About every 3rd or 4th wash the soap is not dispensed. I use the powerball tabs like the one that came with the dishwasher from Kitchenaid, but they just stay in the soap dispenser and are not thrown into the dishwasher tub. The repairman recommended only using powdered soap, and see if that helps. We ruled out that anything was blocking the dispenser. I bought Kitchenaid expecting an excellent product that would last me for many years. Not sure this one will....

I had an old Maytag with basics , tub was plastic . I didn't think anything about the difference except in long time use the plastic breaks down on goes on dishware. First time to have S.S tub . My more wealthy family bought Kitchenaid.I thought was a status ,but really is a good machine. I do alot of research when buying an ticket item. Consumers Report was and is a Great help. The Equipment goes thru alot of testing. Happy Trails.....

My mom has have her kitchenaid for 30 or more years. I bought mine because of that. With mine you don't need to rinse your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher. It is quiet and leaves the dishes clean if I don't forget to run the garbage disposal before I run the dishwasher. It uses too much of the rinse liquid.
