After one year I am disappointed.

Before one year warranty expired an led light burned out on top; well, ok, covered under warranty. During repair, service person said the board inside the door had broken mounts so it's sort of just hanging out. He thought it would be okay because it stays in place when the door is sealed up. Thought that was weird since we had never taken apart the door, but okay, ordered a new board since it's under warranty. Can't get just the fasteners. More recently I've noticed dirty dishes. Wow! Less than one year old and I am having to inspect my dishes before I put them away. As I saw in another review, I now always wash on the highest setting to ensure they are getting clean. When I do this, everything seems to come out okay. I've never timed the wash, but it is pretty long. I do rinse off before loading. I did see other comments about the racks breaking off. Apparently kitchenaid did have a defect in the wheel design that rolled the racks. Although mine didn't break, the service company knew it to be a potential problem with an updated wheel fix and thankfully they took care of this. Otherwise I am sure I would've been paying for the newly designed wheels when mine broke after warranty expired. I had my old dishwasher almost 15 years. I don't foresee this one lasting that long.

We previously had a white kitchen aid dishwasher and was quite please with it. However we have to keep up with the Jones and started converting to stainless steel appliances. This dishwasher is very quite. It does an excellent job at cleaning. Due to it's new improved energy efficiency it does take longer to run through a cycle then our other kitchen aid model but i guess that is life. My only wish was that this model came in the nickel plated coating instead of regular stainless steel so you dont see the finger prints. My awesome Samsung Refrigerator has the nickel plated coating and it totally rocks...no prints anywhere. By the way the old Kitchen Aid dishwasher is still working wonderfully in my other home. Kitchen Aid knows how to make awesome dishwashers!

Dishes only seem to out come out clean when you have the dishwasher half way loaded up, any more dishes then that you gonna have to restart and wash them again. Using the highest setting was a must as well if you wanted clean dishes and that cycle takes like over 2 to 2 1/2 hours to finish...thats not energy savings...really want my whirlpool back....

    Kitchenaid over Bosch

Hesitantly went with this dishwasher after months of research instead of a Bosch because of the heated dry and disposal features. We have put this dishwasher to the test in the last few weeks to make sure we like it before the 30 day return policy is up. I have been thrilled with it's performance. I used to rinse my dishes so well before I put them in that when I opened it, I sometimes couldn't tell if they were clean or dirty. I have been putting in dishes without rinsing them at all...just scraping the scraps into the sink and loading. I even put in lasagna plates...leftover lasagna that I heated to near boiling on the plate. I did use the Power Scrub cycle for this and the dishes came out sparkling....shocking! It loads really well too. I love the upper rack...tons of space. The lower rack fits a lot too...my only complaint is that I can't fit my cookie sheets in or my really big chili pot...not enough height. That's disappointing. Looks great! Super high end look. A little louder than I expected...not whisper quiet...can hear maybe the disposal occasionally, mostly right at the beginning of the cycle, but not at all a deal breaker...still quiet, just not silent. Overall, am very happy with it and would recommend it...and I am picky. My friend tells me I shop for the thrill of the return...plain and simple, if it's not good enough, it goes back...and I'm keeping this one.

Couldn't ask for a better dishwasher

We put this dishwasher through all our tests once it was installed and boy were we surprised at how well it cleaned our dishes. You definitely want to use a rinse aid like the Finish that is included as the drying is much better with it as well as moisture does not remain in the dishwasher when using it. We even tried not rinsing any dishes and had a macaroni and cheese caked on dish that we figured there would be no way it would clean it 100%. Well putting that dish in the ProScrubber zone and choosing that option BAM it was clean and all the non-rinsed dishes were spotless. Pros: -Easily adjustable top rack -Cleans everything we throw at it -Very quiet Cons: -We wish it had a 3rd top short rack

We moved into our new home 11 years ago. Since that time i went through 2 GE Profile Series dishwasher that were junk. i was torn between the Kitchen Aid and the Bosch. After extensive reviews and calls to some of the appliance repair places i had to use for my GE over the years i decided on the Kitchen Aid. This model in particular because of the added features i needed like delay start. (not that you need it for noise because this unit is very quiet). I also like the added jets on the rear wall. You will need to buy an adapter for the water line that is not included for some reason. $4.15 at Lowes. My dishes have never been cleaner and this unit is very quiet. very happy and i am not an easy guy to please when it comes to appliances. i even tested it by having knives with 2 day old peanut butter on them and plates with dryed ketchup. Spotless. Amazing

What i like the most is how well it cleans the dishes & the heat dry setting. Some dishwashers are higher rated for energy saving, but i've heard from a lot of friends who have those kind that the dishes are still wet, even the day after the wash is complete. I read a few reviews saying that the top rack breaks easily, but we bought it anyway, have owned it a year and a half and have had zero problems, but i never load heavy things on the top rack because i always remember those few reviewers who complained about it. I think the reason the top rack "seems" a bit flimsy is because you can raise or lower it depending on your needs, for instance having to move the top rack up because you made a huge Thanksgiving dinner and have the bottom loaded with bigger pots. I've never moved the top rack yet tho. I do like that it fits way more dishes than our old dishwasher because of the tall tub, sometimes i only run it once per week due to this, and I noticed i can fit my tall "travel" coffee mugs on the top rack, which i could never do in our old dishwasher. It also came with a pot scrubber setting, but i wanted to see how well it cleaned dishes, and couldn't wait to throw a baked on lasagna pan in there, not using the pot scrubber setting, and was happily surprised at what a great job it did without. It is very quiet, which i like, because having our living room open to the kitchen, didn't want to hear it. And let me tell you, I was told our old dishwasher was quiet, and it was loud as could be, this dishwasher is very, very quiet. You can hear it, but its not loud at all. Barely noticable infact. In a nutshell, it cleans dishes spotless, it dries the dishes well, you can turn the dry setting to off if you prefer, it's quiet, and the stainless steel is easy to clean with windex. And it has the added bonus of a hidden contol panel, but has a blue light that appears so you can tell when it's done. Highly recommend.

We bought this unit to replace our 15-year-old dishwasher in preparation for a kitchen remodel because we wanted a clean look, better energy efficiency, and quieter operation. We had $500 in Best Buy gift certificates so rather than purchase this item through the kitchen remodeling folks, we purchased it on our own. The overall price was about $150 less than what they would have charged us, but $500 of it was free money, so... Anyway -- we are very happy with how quiet the unit is and how it looks. I'm sure efficiency will be evident over the next year. There might be something wrong with the bottom rotating spray arms - we think they aren't moving -- something seems to be broken. I found a broken plastic piece in the bottom of the unit that might be the culprit -- working it out through warranty. It doesn't seem to clean pots and pans as thoroughly as our old unit, even using the Pro-Scrub feature, but that may be because of the spray arm issue. Hopefully we'll get the issue worked out, but in general we are happy with the purchase.

I put dishes in and they come out clean! Quiet. My last dishwasher (Maytag) was a HUGE lemon and we got rid of it after only ~ 6yrs. It would not get rid of the ground up dirt so dishes would come out with baked on crud. Sometimes items come out "dirtier" than when they went it. Maybe I have low expectations -- but my dishwasher works and I couldn't be happier. Pair that with it being on sale, getting good reviews. I say you won't be disappointed..

    Good Product Overall

Unit was purchased to replace an identical version from about 6 years ago (broken door hinge). Given that we chose to replace with the same model, we have been pleased with the performance in general. Installation was easy (though we had to stop midway to run out and buy the adapter/fitting) and the unit is quieter than the previous (also quiet) due to extra insulation. Performance is as expected with all dishes and silver clean (and spot free) even though we run it only about 1.5 times per week. Only complaint so far is the soap door does not close easily. If it does not loosen with time, we will have the repair company out to check (purchased extended warranty - seems like a must with appliances these days). Differences between the old and new models: the silverware basket on the old is better (heavier and the lids/covers are attached so they cannot fall into the baskets - we chose to swap the old basket for use in the new unit); on the old unit Normal Wash was the default; on the new it must be chosen each time; more plastic lid holders in new unit. Paid $799.99 on sale and the Best Buy folks were great to work with during the busy holidays.

Almost as quiet as the Bosch I had for 11 years prior to this one and cleans even better than the Bosch! I bought an LG and installed it. It didn't clean at all, so Best Buy let me exchange for this one. I was told I wouldn't be happy with anything but Bosch after having one, but their new dishwashers have tines that are too close together for most plates. I like this one better than Bosch!!! AWESOME DISHWASHER!!

We replaced an LG dishwasher that we absolutely hated, and while there might be machines that are quieter, this one is quiet enough and to this point the cleaning is superb. The LG machine did not have a drying element, so we insisted on having that in the new machine and the dishes do not come out with water dripping off them. Overall, it's been a good purchase so far.

Unit is more quiet than our last KitchenAid, as it has sound material on the bottom of the unit. The only noise you hear is the food grinder when it runs. It is not perfectly silent, but close enough. Everything comes out clean. These newer units do take longer to wash to conserve water, I think it takes almost three hours to do a complete wash.

    quietest dishwasher ever

This is, seriously, the quietest dishwasher i have ever heard. I can't even tell it is running much of the time. Buttons are a bit touchy, but you can lock them easily, so not really a problem. Dishes come out very clean. Lots of height for my rather large plates. My last dishwasher was a KitchenAid as well. I was waiting for the old one to break down, because I wanted to replace it with stainless. After ten years of waiting for this 20 plus year old dishwasher to break, I finally gave in and bought new one. Love the KitchenAid!

It's quiet; it cleans nicely; it was an excellent price. The cutlery basket(s) were not well made at all. I had a previous KitchenAid and used that cutlery basket instead. Also, when opening and closing the door the buttons at the top of the door are too easily depressed. My previous KitchenAid had a similar control panel and did not have this problem. BUT, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dishwasher, but wanted the reliability of a KitchenAid. This filled the bill nicely.

Went from a 20+ year old Kitchen Aid to this unit. New unit is very quiet, does a great job. Cycle time is much slower than older machine but you can hardly hear it, so what is the difference? Classic simple good looks. Makes all the other appliances look bad!

Before landing on this dishwasher, we bought an LG dishwasher. The LG did a too job at cleaning, but not a great job at drying. It also seemed to have an odd smell when washing. We replaced it with this kitchen aid dishwasher, which turned out to be a smart move. We've had it for a week now and I love it. It looks great, it's quiet, it's super easy to use, it has the best features like pro scrub, it cleans great, and it drys very well. I'm thrilled with this purchase and strongly recommend it.

I shopped around for months and read hundreds of reviews and this is the best dishwasher that you can buy for this price! It is extremely quiet! We have a raised foundation and wood floors throughout our house and I can barely tell that it is running. I live in an area where the water is extremly hard, I use a teaspoon of a product called "Lemi Shine" along with one to two teaspoons of powder dish detergent and the dishes come out spotless and completely dry every time.

We replaced our old Kitchenaid with this new one after the first one died after about 12 years. This new one is very quiet and seems to clean very well. We also seem to be able to fit all of our dishes and silverware better in this new machine. The only issue we notice is that the dry cycle does not seem to dry all that well, but it could be user error.
