The design of the fridge is well thought out. I much prefer the French door style to our old side by side. Visibility is far superior since there is less crowding and there is amble LED lighting. Not closing a door completely will trigger an alarm which is very nice since the left side door that has the pivoting center piece does not always close correctly if right side door was already closed. Not sure it was because only light force was used to shut the door. This has only happened twice in 30 days and never to me and the alarm let you know when this occurred so I consider this a minor issue.
There are two drawers under the main French doors and one has customizable temps for meats, cheese, drinks, veggies and thawing. It would have been nice if both were customizable and even better if they could have been set to a freezer setting too. Both drawers are self closing which is a very nice feature.
We like the pizza storage location in the front of the freezer door. Very convenient for large boxes. The freezer storage is more than we had before so no complaints there.
We live in a rural area and are not on city water so there are lots of minerals in our water supply. Our old fridge did a poor job of filter the water compared to this one. The water tastes much better now so I don't have to buy bottled water for drinking.
The Ice maker reservoir is quite small and initially took a long time to fill. The Geek Squad that installed it warned me that it takes a bit to get all the air out of the system and that would effect ice output and also the water dispenser since you can select the actual output in ounces.

it would get 5 stars except for the flaw with freezer (more to be revealed)
--my wife LOVES this fridge as it has so many organizational options
--we have three kids so we are always full (3-4 gallons of milk +) and we still always have plenty of room
--the split lower drawers by far one of the better upgrades that are self closing to boot - our twin toddlers have one designated draw they can access for mash-ups, juices, snacks etc..
--looks: very sleek and very professional that looks like MONEY!
--it is flat and not bowed out like the Samsungs & LG's - so it looks amazing and flush
--freezer: condensation is building up but service call in place so im sure will be fixed
--other bad reviews about the water dispenser; all fridges have overs splash etc... minor.. deal with it! take your time pulling glass/bottle away - thats all - that simple!!
this piece is the bomb!
i will update to 5 star once freezer is corrected!

So, I like this refrigerator. It looks cool. However, for the price there are some little details that should not be present. The water dispenser spews all over the place. The ice storage is in one of the refrigerator doors, so with kids that open the doors and stand there, it thaws and referees the ice, clogging the dispenser up. There are a lot of neat little features, like the small inner sliding drawers that are perfect for kid snacks. It is very roomy and has a lot of adjustable shelves. The 2 smaller slow closing drawers are nice too. But let's be real. All you need is something that keeps your food cold. This fridge is all about the look. If you have the money, and like the look, by all means get it. The extra space is nice. But you could get away with a much cheaper fridge.

We love the fridge. The separate drawers are great for us because we use them for waters and soda cans which is perfect. the freezer is big with the large drawer and two smaller ones that slide out individually. The only thing I didn't realize was that it is not finger proof resistant. My only gripe so far. But nothing too hard to clean. And some reviews said it was noisy but I have not heard it.

This stainless steel refrigerator is very modern. The details are what sets this large capacity refrigerator apart from its competitors. The diamond textured handles offer a nice aesthetic with red KitchenAid endcaps while offering a high grip texture. The LED lights that line the shelves allow for easy viewing of the contents of an otherwise dark fridge. The 5-door design seems like a good idea with the multi-functional freezer on the bottom, but seems a bit inefficient at times (shallow shelf height but can be adjusted). I use the external access for water and ice daily! The water seems to spray a little wide so I use wide mouth cups to prevent any spilling.

We ordered the Whirlpool version of this model but were upgraded to the KitchenAid when the Whirlpool was on back order. Whether the additional features are worth another $1000 is left to others doing the comparison. Nevertheless, the soft-close drawers, the nice lighting, and the fancy interior are enticing and attractive. We just hope that this brand that has been absorbed by Whirlpool holds up like our other KitchenAids have in the past. That said, we have no complaints so far and I particularly am thrilled with the quiet operation because it is located in the vicinity of our great room. The only draw back so far is the strange noise associated with the ice maker when it drops ice and replenishes itself. I think that the engineers could have done a better job-- although noticeable, it is tolerable as it lasts just a short time. I will definitely update this as time passes.

I love this refrigerator. Very attractive and spacious. The two pullout drawers are wonderful. I can fit an entire casserole dish into them with room to spare. It's very well lit inside, too. The freezer has two upper drawers which gives me sooo much more room than I had with my old side-by-side one. The only complaint I have is that the drawers are slightly uneven so I had Best Buy exchange it, however, when the guys unwrapped it to bring it in, we decided not to switch out because the unevenness was even worse on the next one. A lot of reviews said that this was an issue so I was warned. I like everything else about this style so no regrets

Love our new fridge! Love the black stainless steel! The fridge is HUGE, it is quiet, and it makes ice consistently. Lots of storage space allowing you to actually have some sort of organization.
The only negative and it’s not even a problem is there seems to be a small drip, every now and then, from the ice maker chute to the ice storage bin.
I have NOT have had any issues that others have had in regards to water leaking, or running all over the floor.
Thanks to Best Buy Omaha East for valuing their customers! They are the BEST!

I love my new kitchenaide refrigerator. The outside and inside look more higher end, I love the ice and water in the door and the easy to follow menu on the control panel. I also love how big it is and how easy it is to organize, Love the sliding door at the bottom where I put button and cream cheese. The produce drawer really does keep my produce fresher longer, and the beverage drawer keeps my drinks super cold and easy to get too. The beverage and produce drawers close slowly which is also super cool. The freezer has lots of storage and is very easy to organize as well, It even has a place for frozen pizzas. This refrigerator is an organizers dream. I highly recommend and would definitely buy it again,

I love the space and individual drawers this refrigerator gives me for my meats and cheeses and produce. Easy convenient drawers without opening the whole fridge. Also helps a great deal that all 3 of the freezer drawers open all the way out.
Everything works great but the water dispenser is still producing completely clear water after following the manual's instructions. Otherwise, I love it

We absolutely love the fridge which completes the rest of our Kitchenaid appliances in a new construction home. Very spacious with great features and just looks classy inside & out. Even the delivery guy said it's a complicated install process, but it is the single best residential refrigerator on the market.

I have had this fridge for about 1 week and I love it. It has a very elegant look, it runs so quietly and smoothly. It's very spacious with the two shelves available and the two drawers for produce are very very big. The other two drawers are big enough to fit fruits and drinks for a party. I love how the freezer comes with one big drawer and three other smaller ones to allow organization. The ice machine does take a while to make some ice, but we will see how it goes after a using it for more than a week. The eater feature is awesome, because I can open the right side of the fridge and it will not cut out the water supply, my old fridge will cut it out if some one wanted to grab something from inside.

Cost benefit analysis

I bought this refrigerator 6 years ago. The part to repair it was approximately $1200. Then about that much for labor. All told to fix it was going to be about $2400. Considering the cost benefit analysis I have opted to buy a new one for approximately $3400. I am buying the same model I had before because I do love the stye and functionality of it. However, I am disappointed I only got 6 years out of it. Proof that the 5 year additional warranty is not worth the extra cost.

When we purchased this refrigerator we were happened on a great deal and had to do quick research on it. I was already familiar the kitchen-aid brand and already had a high expectation for the quality. During my research I didn't find any significant quality issues with most common complaints being noise level of water dispenser.
We have now had this fridge for about two months with no issues. Yes the water dispenser is a little loud but not really an issue. We were attracted to the design, most notably the handles. With two young gods that was extremely important to us that the handles were sturdy and had no moving pieces. There is more than enough space inside both the refrigerator and freezer. The design of the drawers being accessible externally put common items like kids snacks and deli meat with in quick reach.
It did take a couple of days tonprime the ice maker but only because it recommends toss the first three ice ulcers out as you running water through the system.
The doors all have close assist, meaning once it closes so far the assist will automatically engage to secure the door.
Overall we are loving this appliance.

As much as I love the looks of this unit, I have to give one star because it’s not well made. We started having issues last year and had it repaired this past January. Now, it’s not cooling properly again and the freezer is running like a refrigerator. The repair man is here now and said it’s the whole cooling system and it’s a $1300 repair. We are not going to bother. He said once you open that system up, issues can become more common. Such a beautiful, expensive refrigerator that doesn’t work. What a waste of money. It makes me sad because I really do love how it looks.

Beautiful refrigerator! Very spacious with well thought out compartments. Love the extra drawers in the freezer and the pizza compartment. The middle drawers have a soft closure feature which is very nice if u have kids and didn’t realize how annoying it is to hear the normal slamming all day. First few refrigerators arrived dented but Best Buy made it easy to exchange and one arrived without a working ice maker (which is a common problem for this unit) but after getting a new refrigerator we now have a fully functional refrigerator and if something were to go wrong I have full confidence that Best Buy will make it right again.

It is loud. The ice gets thrown out of the glass because it comes out hap-hazard. The water is okay on a big glass but a smaller one misses the cup and spills over. I think I would have gotten a different model. It has the drawers on the outside and loses the inside shelving where larger bottles and other items are stored. There really isn't much inside side panel storage. However, it looks great. The lighting is tremendous. My wife is happy that it doesn't show fingerprints. The best part is it works well. I just wish I had seen the other model with drawer's inside.

So now my new fridge is making my old paint in my kitchen look worse. We replaced the dishwasher to Kitchen Aid about 5 years ago and love it. So when we saw this baby I was like uh oh, I think this is over my initial budget. I LOVE the drawers. I'm totally confused with where things are for the moment but I'm getting used to it. The buttons for the water and ice are a bit goofy. It prefers a lighter touch. The water stream is a bit splashy but tolerable. I just clean the tray a couple of times a night. I didn't reset the shelf heights when we got it so I had to slide the upper shelf back to fit the milk.

I purchased this refrigerator 7/16/18 when my old fridge died. It was delivered the next week. Approximately 3 weeks later we started noticing issues with water running down the front of the fridge and puddling on the floor. The inside of the fridge around the icemaker was also dripping water down the inside and would alternate freezing up around the gaskets. It quit making ice by the next day. I even went so far as to take everything out of the fridge and freezer and left it sitting open for a whole day so if the ice maker was frozen up it would melt. I turned it back on the next day and it has never made another piece of ice. I called the KitchenAid repair to have them come look at it but then decided I didn't want to start having troubles and service calls on a brand new fridge that was less than a month old. I went on the Best Buy website and started reading the pros and cons of this fridge.....so many complaints about the ice maker going out almost immediately. Thankfully, we are elite plus members and the management at the store in Sherman, TX was nothing but wonderful to work with. My new fridge will be here on Saturday (I checked reviews first this time) and they will pick up this one that will not make ice. I really hate that it happened because I loved the extra drawers for meats, cheeses and produce. Loved the fact that you can put a big pizza in the door of the freezer and that it has plenty of room for frozen foods. I just can't spend $3,000 on a fridge, have an important part of it go out in less than a month, and keep it or exchange for another one just like it.

If you've gotten to this point of reading reviews then you have already looked at it and most likely like what you have seen. In the last 6 months of using this unit I have found only one detractor. Ice at the top of the ice bin melts down. So far the runoff IS being contained somewhere in this refrigerator. Shelf adjustments we have found to be adequate, with the middle right shelf sliding down and back to allow gallon or liter bottle storage. Right hand door shelving is also adjustable and fairly deep I think. The 2 small drawers are really nice with the soft close feature. We keep drinks in the left and cold cuts in the right. The lower drawer is actually 3, making it a no brainer to store frozen food by its size. Yes it also has a pizza compartment! With the silver interior and L.E.D. lighting, even on the shelve lips, Its cool.
