I ordered this stove top-the original was a beautiful finish and matched our other KitchAid appliance in our new home. When it wa tripping the GFI, I had to replace (it was under warranty). The second and third attempt was an appliance that was substandard-matte finish, horrible to clean-rough texture, and a sticker that did not say AMERICA but REGISTRAR. I waited 1 hour to talk to a KitchenAid representative (took picture to prove)-the customer service was substandard. Had model and serial number and explained issue three different times but kept getting transferred without any help.

If I were to do it all again (kitchen remodel) I would choose a stand alone range with controls away from burners. The spacing between burners is close so you have to arrange pots/pans (if cooking with multiple) so that they fit. The controls take up space and will get hot if you have a pot/pan edge cooking close to it. It looks pretty but for practical use, not recommended.

My only "correction" for this cooktop is to change the burner location icon at each control knob so it is easier to see (make it larger or clearer).

As a professional Home Inspector,, this is hazardous. Someone could think it is off, leave the house and kaboom. If I inspect a house with this illegible printing, I would mark it as a hazardous deficiency. Unfortunately it will be a pain to uninstall and return.

But it heats up everything around it except the pot. It takes forever to boil two cups of water and it has been impossible to use my griddles to cook tortillas. I tried all kinds of pots and pans I have , same result. The over the counter microwave handle gets so hot you can't touch it. The distance between the flame and the grate is too much. It is impossible to use a wok like pot due to cross lines of grates running over flame.
