Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention how easy it is to clean the 30" Electric Cooktop, with many saying that it's "quite ridiculously easy." The downdraft feature is also well-received, with customers appreciating its effectiveness in removing smoke from the house. On the downside, some customers find the cooktop difficult to clean around the knobs, and the glass surface is prone to scratching.

KitchenAid 30 inch Glass Cooktop: Highly Satisfied

We purchased recently KitchenAid - 30 inch Electric Cooktop from BestBuy on June 1, 2024. The Sales Manager at BestBuy was very helpful, cardial, quite knowledgeable and great to work with. He helped us in purchasing the right product at the right price and scheduled the installation. The product was delivered within a week and arrived on-time. Antoine who was assigned to measure and install the product was awesome. Antoine was thorough and made sure that we have the right size ducts and clamps prior to installation to connect with the downdraft. All in all, the installation was a breeze with no glitches. It took about 2 hours to remove the old cooktop, install the new one and haul away our old cooktop with the older downdraft. We have started using our new KitchenAid Ceramic Glass Cooktop and we love it. The cooktop is beautiful and very easy to operate. Everything is working well and the food quality is much better due to even heating. Also, we purchased the cleaning kit with a scrapper and we follow the care instructions and clean the ceramic glass cooktop after every use. This cooktop is fitted with Schott-Ceraden ceramic glass (one of the best) and we visited their website to learn more about taking care of the glasstop. The instruction manual from KitchenAid was thorough and very easy to follow. The downdraft fan works great and makes much less noise with three settings compared to our previous Whirlpool cooktop with only one fan setting. We are very concious of quality and aesthetics and proud to say that we very very pleased with our KitchenAid cooktop from BestBuy. We strongly recommend to anyone who is in the market to buy this ceramic glass cooktop. Based on our experience with BestBuy and KitchenAid/Whirlpool, we went ahead and purchased a new dishwasher and a microwave oven and we plan to purchase a 4-door french door refrigerator from BestBuy. Great job!

    Well Built, High Performing Cooktop

This KitchenAid Cooktop replaces our old JennAir, and we were looking specifically for a cooktop that had a downdraft (DD) exhaust build into it. We loved the DD in our old JennAir and wanted to make sure a new one had it. Installation was easy as we were replacing the countertops in our kitchen and did not have to have a unit of the same size as our old one. Just had to realign the exhaust hole in the wall (cut a new one). The KitchenAid heats quickly, offers a variety of sizes with four burners and the multi-speed exhaust allows adjustment for the amount of exhaust needed. Cleaning is fairly easy but I would not recommend the use of an abrasives on the glass surface. Boil-overs or spills can be "scraped" off using a razor blade tool, like one for removing paint from windows, then soap and water. The build quality is very good and performance to date had been great.

Good unit. Working great. Professional install. We had really bad luck trying to get a GE delivered. So we went with this one instead and glad we did.

    Installation Sketchy

The installation was rather sketchy. There was no measurement or prep made prior to delivery. The downdraft did not line up with the existing vent and installer was not prepared to connect it was left to the owner to buy parts at local hardware store to complete. The foam strips were not installed around countertop opening which would allow dirt and grease to enter. Cooktop was simply dropped onto opening. Electrical connection is exposed. Conduit from cooktop was spliced to plug using electrical connectors and taped. Was not run to junction box, nor was cable run to the box within the stove. This cannot be up to code not safe. Was the installer a licensed electrician?

This is a very nice cooktop. I like the downdraft feature. Keeps strong cooking odors to a minimum. Heats evenly. Cleans up easily with cooktop cleaner. So far, so good. I'm happy.

The cooktop itself was broken into a hundred pieces; and the downdraft unit was completely missing - absolutely no way for unit to work without half of the hardware

Good choice for electric downdraft cooktop

Replaced older Jenn-Air electric downdraft cooktop. Review written 1 month after installation. Thus far we are very satisfied with this cooktop. KitchenAid Highs: Huge improvement in water boiling time when using the ultra heat setting. The 2 even heat burners have excellent low temperature range. Strong downdraft system. Chrome knobs. Grease filter sits in accessible tray very close to the cooktop surface and looks like it will catch most of what always ended up dripping or falling to bottom of Jenn Air blower unit that required elbow deep cleaning. KitchenAid Lows: Stranded wire used for connection to home power supply. Funky offset connector is included from the square blower exhaust to a 6" round connector-note 6". If you are replacing a Jenn Air unit the blower exhaust is not the same size or position and requires a size step down and 90 degree multi adjustable connector twisted around to realign the approximate 2" offset. Neutral: You are always chasing surface cleaning and scratches but it is black ceramic glass. Knob orientation to burner position is not as intuitive as Jenn Air. Surface vent footprint is smaller than Jenn Air with equal to or better air flow. 3 speed fan is not infinitely adjustable like Jenn Air but seems fine and slightly noisy like Jenn Air. Plastic grease filter.

    Nice replacement for old Jenn-Air

Got this one to replace 20 year old Jenn-Air and needed downdraft cooktop. Learned from other reviews that the glass gets scratched so I also considered other two brands that make downdraft cooktops but ultimately decided to go with this one to reduce the risk of not fitting into the existing opening or the connection to the existing air vent. Went with the all black model (without stainless steel covers along the long side) and nearly regretted about it because old cooktop had larger overlapping over the opening and installing the new one so that you don't see the holes in the granite was a challenge. The stainless steel option would be easier in this way. The glass indeed gets lightly scratched by the pans. Not a drama but it looses its pristine look. Overall it is a nice replacement for the old Jenn-Air but keep in mind the slight difference in sizes between the all-black and stainless steel models.

Overall it’s ok. It looks nice but it’s somewhat difficult to clean, especially around the nobs. The downdraft sounds louder than our old cooktop but is way less powerful. It heats up great and it’s easy to cook on. The biggest issues we had were around the way Best Buy handles installations. Otherwise this cooktop is just ok.

Good stove overall functionally. Wish it sealed better around the glass. They provide a cheap EPDM strip seal which is very hard to install and rolls off the lip. 2mm gap between cooktop and countertop things flour other powdery cooking goods get stuck and impossible to remove without breaking the cheap seal.

I wanted to convert my cooktop to gas one initially but because if the cost to setup a gas line I started looking for electric one with downdraft. I came across this and I am happy with my decision. Installation was a bit hard as my countertop had exact measurements for this one but apart from that I am happy with my purchase.

This is a nice cooktop. Easy to clean. However, I had one just like this. Replaced after 1O years. Was still working but top cracked. Had a few chips on the corner too. I dont Cook often. So you may want to consider something else if do. Feel the top is fragile.

It's our first time getting this to replace our existing cooktop of another brand. We like the design of the downdraft as it's not too deep that it's easy to clean. The downdraft of our previous cooktop was very deep. We have to put our arm all the way down.
