Very sleek design and has high quality materials. Exhaust fan is pretty loud on highest setting, but not obnoxiously so. Installation was a challenge given the tight fit on my island and the house’s existing exhaust setup. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase , especially at the reduced price of open-box

I replaced this unit because its predecessor broke down after four years, and three repairmen could not diagnose the problem - I bought and returned various parts to no avail. The new model is almost identical but with enough of a difference to make the replacement installation a real headache. The fan housing is larger, so the exhaust hole does not line up with the old duct - I needed to cut a new larger hole in the cabinet floor. This unit is not meant for granite countertops as far as I can tell. Two brackets on either side need to be secured (actually stabilized) under the counter top and drilling into granite that close to the opening for the unit does not seem wise, nor is it easy for the average do-it-yourselfer. I ended up stabilizing the unit with angle irons to the back of the cabinet (also not easy). The whole unit rests on metal legs that you have to attach to the unit prior to installation. But once put it in place, there is no way to adjust the height so that the unit is flush with the counter top (even the best pre-measurement will be off a bit). Moreover, the provided screws for the legs did not fit and I had supply my own. The new unit is about 1/4 inch wider than the old unit and this required shaving off 1/8 inch of granite on either side to accommodate it - again, not easy unless you happen to have a diamond tile saw. The old unit had a continuous sliding switch to control the power; the switch on the new unit has just four discrete levels and is somewhat difficult to manipulate. After three full days spent installing this thing, it works, but if the life of these is only four years then I would recommend a service plan (I bought the 5-year plan from Geek Squad for about a hundred bucks). My only reason to "recommend this to a friend" is that it is one of a few, if not the only, option for venting a range on a kitchen island. And, it does do a good job in that respect.

Purchased this downdraft to replace an old one. Very quiet and great suction power. Eliminates all odors in the kitchen.

Great fan works well the installation was easy and fitted perfectly

I have had cooktops with downdraft for many years. It is a great solution for an island, but I purchased this one to simplify and streamline a new kitchen. They are effective and great space savers.

Purchased back in November of 2019 but the item was delayed for several months. We finally got it installed. We have no complaints about it.

The Vent Hood is nice, looks , nice and it is quiet. It could use a stronger fan but overall we like it and the way it operates.

Looks like an excellent downdraft system. Kitchen Aid has a good reputation for kitchen appliances so I'm sure we will be happy with this product once it is installed.

We like it. As with other Kitchen Aid products, this appears to be high quality.

Our installer from BestBuy recommended we go with this brand (vs. a KitchenAid, which would've been the same manufacturer as our gas range). This one fit better in the space we needed it in, and the vent rises higher than the KitchenAid, allowing it to clear more of the 'gas' rising off the burners. And, it's quiet and effective.

I like the product a lot and am disappointed that we couldn’t use it

I bought this as an open item. we were verbally told that we had 14 days to return it. We returned it not open with the BB security tape still in place. We were charged a 15% restocking fee for an open box item. Check out the policy on the BB website. There is no restocking fee if the product is unopened or if the purchase and the return both occur within: AL, CO, HI, IA, MS, OH, OK, SC and where prohibited by law. The restocking fee will be taxed in select states.

Paid for my items months ago, installation and service botched many times. Still not done even after apologies and promises.
