    So far so good.

I know that other people had issues with this stove. I believe they are not the only two people who own this stove. So far we love it, works great and cooks food just fine. We really like the dual fuel. We don't have the dripping issue that other woman had or burned food like the other folks had. So far so good.

    Horrible Design Flaw!

    Posted .

This is a horribly designed range! Any amount of liquid that rolls down the front (where knobs are) will go in between the glass oven panels and is virtually inpossible to get to! Three day old stove, $2500 and I must pay a service technician to come clean the glass. I would NOT recommend anyone to purchase this stove. I have $10K worth of Kitchenaid appliances in my home. I am truly tempted to get rid of them all and go with brand that will stand behind it's product and fix a quite obvious flaw in their product. Read the reviews out there. I am not the only one!

Excellent Performance in a Home Range

I bought this range after much research because it has the style & high-performance features of pricier commercial-styled ranges, yet fit my existing space without having to move cabinets. I previously owned another brand of range with double ovens, but the all-gas burners on rangetop & in both ovens rendered the tiny top oven useless for anything other than broiling or making garlic bread. Everything else burned on the bottom, due to tiny compartment size & gas oven. My new Kitchenaid range has been FABULOUS in that regard! I've baked sheets of cookies, enchiladas, appetizers, muffins & various meats- chicken breasts, pokr tenderloin, etc.. Everything has roasted or baked perfectly, with the top & bottom being evenly browned to perfection. I attribute this to the electric heat in the oven, which is clearly more even that gas. I did bake a sheet cake in the smaller top oven, and experienced some uneven rising, but I'm not sure if that was the oven or perhaps my recipe. The bottom oven is great! It has really good capacity, given that it's part of a two-oven configuration. The range burners work very well for stovetop cooking, although the tight placement of the burners would make it nearly impossible to use all 5 burners at one time. The simmer burner is a true simmer burner, allowing for a flame low enough to hold delicate recipes without scorching. The grates are easy to clean & the knobs are weighty & substantial-feeling....so nice! Several posters have remarked about the front vent possibly being a pain due to food slopping down the front of the range & ending up between the glass panels of the oven door. Honestly, due to the way the metal is shaped, I really can't see that happening unless one is a really messy cook. Because of the concerns other reviewers expressed, my husband & I carefully examined what would be required to remedy that if it were to happen, and it's truly the simple removal of a few screws to get the assembly apart & cleaned. This design is far better than my previous range, whoch also got crumbs, streaks & occasional pooch hairs sucked into the vent of the door, but that unit was sealed & really WAS a pain to deal with. This Kitchenaid range seems much easier to keep clean & get clean that my old range. I've only been using this range for only a few weeks, but feel I've put it through the paces & it hasn't disappointed me at all. I look forward to learning more about the convection function & some of the other special features, like slow cooking. All in all, I've very happy with this purchase!

Glad we switched to gas stove top; wife loves it.

My wife and I "bit the bullet" when we purchased this gas stove/electric double oven. We have always had electric only. After researching online I decided to encourage my wife to try the duel-fuel stove/oven and this one came in with "high marks". We purchased just before Christmas to take advantage of the big discounts offered at that time. We love it, although we haven't used the large oven yet. Since it is convection, I'm certain it will be just fine. Love the heat control gas stove provides. Make sure you have the "newer" 4 prong electric plug- in since that could get expensive to have an electrician install. Also the gas line wasn't cheep to have installed, but those are different issues. Although my wife and I live alone, we have a large family which frequently come over for meals; usually 12 to 16. We do love it and it looks great also. If I could choose again, I would purchase the same range and pay for the additional gas service needed.

    Nice oven for baking

I love cooking with gas range and electric oven. The high powered burners make for quick heating. the smaller upper oven is just the right size for most my day to day needs. The lower oven foe bigger or more food items. Although its low so you really have to stoop to get things in and out.

    Great stove overall

Good price for the quality of double oven. I am short so having to lean over the front knobs makes cooking on the gas stovetop a little difficult. Burners seem to work great but are close together so big pots cannot sit side by side (only one large pot can fit on each side). Love the electronic lock feature on the stovetop with young kids and dogs at home. Convect oven works great but only 2 racks will cook evenly, tried 3 but too close together. I use the bottom convect oven almost every day! Top oven works great but will burn tops of food that are taller than 2" (cupcakes, breads, rolls). Love it for the quick frozen pizzas, fries, nuggets...and doesn't heat up the whole kitchen. The bottom oven door sits almost on the floor when opened so getting foods off the very bottom rack can be difficult, I've had to kneel on the floor to remove it, if the dish is heavy. Overall, very happy with it and would recommend to anyone.

Not perfect, but still good performance

I have been very impressed by the temperature consistency maintained by the ovens. I typically keep a pizza stone in the top oven - the mass tends to keep the temperature on setting. The lower oven does take some time to regain temp after openning the door - but it keeps a consistent temp inside. I ran into the problem of a drip from the stovetop running between the panes of glass in the upper oven. A simple removal of 5 screws allowed cleaning of the spill - probably still a design issue but not major. I had one other problem, in that when I first "cleaned" the top oven, a 3" chip popped off of the oven porcelain as I wiped the residue from the oven. I am currently awaiting a replacement oven as it was determined to be un-repairable.

    LOVE this range!

I've had this for 3 weeks now. I've been to every review site, and it seems like there are one or 2 people that always say the same negative thing ... e.g. the bottom oven makes the upper oven window gather condensation, the racks are uneven and dishes/pans can side right out of the oven (yeah, right). Also I've read where food spills can go between the panes of glass in the upper oven. I find it difficult to believe these complaints are even true. I was concerned, however and did everything in my power to make these horrible things happen. I simply couldn't. I think there is some sort of agenda driving these comments. I have had nothing but a fantastic experience with this range. The upper and lower ovens are perfectly tuned, temperature wise. The oven sits, without any adjusting perfectly level side to side and back to back. Baked goods are the best I've produced. Roasted meats, chicken, etc... are caramelized and crisp when using the convection setting. Bread proofing is perfection. I had a Maytag Gemini electric before this, and there simply is no comparison. This one performs exactly as it is supposed to. The gas top is flawless. I think the griddle that comes with it is a little small to be practical -- unless you're making pancakes only for yourself -- or 2 regulation sized grilled sandwiches. I have a reversible Lodge cast iron griddle/grill pan that fits perfectly over the oval burner and provides a larger surface are. So -- I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. I look forward to using it every day.

We switched from a smooth top electric to the dual fuel dual oven with gas top. We are enjoying cooking with gas and the ovens allowed for great meal coordination during Easter dinner. Full size turkey fit in the bottom as we were doing other things in the top oven. Great look and quality.

The first range we ordered maxed out our electric panel, so Best Buy gladly exchanged it for the all gas version. No problems or disappointments as yet ( knock on wood?). My neighbor is a KitchenAid repairman and he says he is the lonely guy in town, for those of you who remember the Maytag Man. Yes, I would recommend this stove.

    Working out the bugs

We really like the way it looks and we got a super deal on the price. But.... Everything we have tried to cook in the upper over burns on the lower side. We have tried lowering the temp. We have moved the rack. People we know with similar ovens love their's ,but when ask they always have the Electric models. The center burner is great for cooking pancakes and the lower oven seems to do a fine job. I'm calling kitchen aid tomorrow to see if we can work out the problems.

    Great oven; lousy service

We could not be happier with the oven. When we purchased the oven, we asked about special electrical requirements. We were told there were none. During the first attempted delivery, we were told of the requirement to have 220v outlet. The delivery/installation guy was basically pleasant, but dismissive. Rescheduling was excruating. The second delivery was reasonable. the installation person was quick and pleasant.

I have the best of both worlds- perfect baking in my electric oven/double/ convection and a gas cook top with griddle. Wish I had done this years ago.

Nice oven. Until it doesn't work. Then, useless. We have had this oven for a few years - it came with the home we bought. All good, until the PG&E power outages / surges of late 2019. Then: the control panel on the oven failed. Now, a couple of months into having no oven because Kitchen Aid and its local repairers can't seem to get a new circuit board available - we're going to have a new oven. That's absurd.
