Very pleased with Kitchenaid combo wall oven
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent combo oven. We were extremely happy to find it both on sale and in stock, given the supply chain issues of the last 1-3 years.

Not sure I buy again
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks good. Not sure if I’d recommend this combo. Our first KitchenAid microwave/oven combo, the microwave door broker (owner accidentally broke it). You cannot replace only the microwave. You have to replace the entire combo. Quite expensive for and accident.

Won't even pop pop-corn
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good oven but the microwave is very poor. It is slow to heat and performs far below my cheap countertop unit. For most applications, it just means waiting longer but some things are just not possible. One of these is pop-corn. The microwave has a dedicated button for pop-corn but if I use that I get maybe 20% popped. I can manually set the timer and get about 30% popped. I have had the unit "serviced" twice and apparently this lack of ability is by design. Both times the technician did some diagnostics and informed me that the microwave is performing as designed. So, clearly it was designed to be of inadequate power to pop pop-corn, even with a dedicated button (psych). I know this is a small nit to some but I don't want to keep a countertop microwave or buy another dedicated appliance just for pop-corn. To spend this kind of money I thought I could expect performance on par or better than my $60 Panasonic countertop unit. Take a look at the pictures. I started with the same amount of pop-corn (pic 1), the results of the expensive KitchenAid (pic2), the results of the cheep Panasonic (pic3).

Main controller died after one week
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome oven and microwave when it works. BUT It took only one week before it blew the main controller that had to be replaced. The clause – microwave and oven running at the same time caused a short. Main board/controller died and oven does not heat anymore. Standard manufacture warranty required sending experts to examine the oven. They found the main board had to be replaced. They replaced it within 20 minutes. Three days later, we ran microwave and oven at the same time with the same result. The unit shorted and the main controller is dead. Each time, had to wait several days for a brand new unit to be fixed instead of replaced when it is an essence faulty by manufacture. No QA??? Never buying KitchenAid again.

Microwave broke after 18 months
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microwave broke after 18 months and of course KitchenAid denied service. This is the second appliance from the 4 I bought from KitchenAid that broke after around 18 months. If you are reading this review, don't buy KitchenAid. Never again for me.

Great Oven/Microwave

Love it, but some minor nits
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It looks great, the oven performs well. I have no problems recommending this. It is our "overflow" oven, but primary microwave. We get lots of compliments on it. Most guest dont realize it is a microwave oven combo, they just think it is a double oven. The oven is used mostly for proofing bread, does a great job. The microwave started out great, but after a little more than a year of use it has lost a lot of power. Here is my example. It used to take 45 seconds to heat my single serving "microwave" lava cake from the grocery store (starts with K). Now it takes about 1:15. This is pretty much the same across the board. 30 seconds for oatmeal is now 45 seconds and so on. I will take out all the elements and do a through cleaning to see is extra splatter is somehow absorbing the rays. We did have a stick of butter and a potato explode in the past, so maybe there is something hidden somewhere. CONTROLS: There is a quick start (1:00) and I mostly use that, but the controls are a multiple choice quiz nightmare when you just want to nuke some food. There are so many buttons (both for Micro and Oven) you really have to pay attention. Example: Softening a frozen desert. Press: Soften Wait for it to scroll through several options (butter, icecream, etc) Press: 3 for Ice Cream (closest to what I had) Wait for it to scroll through several option Press Size Press Start OK, does not sound like much but doing these 3-4 choices every time you use it is a little annoying. Warm, (what to you want to warm), Defrost, (what do you want to defrost), and so on. Baking, (Do you want rapid or slow preheat), Convection bake, (do you want me to re-calc the temp) and on and on. Finally, I wish there were a backlight on the buttons. We have an "open concept" layout where the kitchen is in full view of the living room and family room. If the family is watching a movie (with all the lights out) and I want to nuke a snack, I have to blind everyone with the kitchen lights. Same in the AM if I am cooking my breakfast, I don't want to have to turn on the overhead lights while I am enjoying the relative peaceful morning darkness. Again, these are all minor nits, I've never found the perfect appliance, especially microwave controls. Overall I would recommend the unit.

Great for experienced and beginner cooks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The oven looks beautiful and updates the kitchen. It was purchased to replace an old combo oven. The cutout requirements were just a bit smaller than my original so some carpentry was required for the fit. So far everything seems to work great, however, there are a lot more features yet to learn. I love the blue oven interior as well as the 3 racks and bright oven lights, and you can choose convection or regular cooking. It is even able to convert your recipes to convection cooking automatically. The fan in the oven is not unreasonably loud as some reviewers have posted. If you are running both the top and bottom units at the same time, it is louder as there are 2 fans running. However, even this is no louder than my old oven. The microwave has an easy to clean metal interior with a drop down heating element (for easy cleaning of the ceiling) that's used for convection/crisper features. It has many options for cooking and heating so your food will come out perfectly after you've learned how to use it. It comes with several useful accessories: Temperature probe for the lower oven, crisper pan with detachable handle, baking tray and steamer unit for the microwave. So now my reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars: The microwave has a drop down door. It looks beautiful but is very impractical. The door does not open 90 degrees which makes it even more difficult to reach in. I can barely reach in to get the hot dishes safely and I cannot reach into the microwave for cleaning without a step stool (and still can't reach the back wall with the step stool. I am 5' 3.5"). When using the convection feature for the microwave, the inside oven door around the window gets hot, so to reach in for the dish, the underside of my arms would get burnt. This unit was fit into an existing space with everything at the same height as my old unit, which I had no problem reaching into and cleaning without a step stool. Perhaps if it was able to be lowered a little, it might not be quite as much of a problem, but I still would not be able to reach the back wall because of the drop-down door.

Great Unit
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Love the unit!! The only problem is is that there is No Owners manual- I understand about on line but for the money we paid we should get one on paper for a quick reference!! Had no idea about the broil feature on the microwave which is Amazing but not sure how to use it!! Love the look of the unit & on the “surface “ both units work Great!! We didn’t want a counter microwave or drawer- our contractor suggested this- we are getting a stove also, so, back to double ovens without loosening counter or cabinet space!! Win/win. A lot of people don’t know they make these units!!

Impressive product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not used all the features of this unit as we have had it for less than one month. The times I have used either the oven or the microwave I was impressed with the ease of use and the end results. Although it takes a little longer to preheat I believe this is intermixed with the convection features of this oven. The oven also does not heat up my entire kitchen whenever I use it which is something I really love and will definitely appreciate as warmer weather approaches. This unit is also a beutiful product with sleek lines which look good in my kitchen

Product exceptional, Best Buy not so much...
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product itself is exceptional -- design, functionality, etc. However, the purchasing process was not -- I will never buy an appliance that needs installation from Best Buy again. The product was delivered on 7/6 -- I had to call every single day, with every agent telling me "I will follow up personally" and not one following through, for two weeks to get an install date, to no avail. Only after we paid someone else to do it did Best Buy give us an install date of 7/31 -- 22 days past the date quoted while checking out.

A GOOD SOLID OVEN SET
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used the ovens for a couple weeks now we find them easy to use and much better technology to the Kitchen Aid ovens we replaced (after 30 years). Once learned, the controls become intuitive. Convection cooking with the probe delivers juicy yet browned roasts. I would recommend this oven set to anyone.
